Chapter 61 Low Sand

The sun seemed to be weeping a little bit as it lost its bright luster today. The souls in High Sand mourned this morning in the name of their benefactors who gave them a chance. His name was Rammes and he was peacefully resting in the coffin in the middle of the church as people gave their flowers and blessings for his afterlife.

They hoped he would find peace in his afterlife and have a good life in his next life.

" Master."

Aston who was the most responsible person in the city, was drinking alcohol today to forget his painful memory. He recalled the person who was a father figure to him and others in the church but now he laid cold before his eyes.

He believed someday his teacher would retire and teach future generations like other old people in the church, yet he passed away during his duty. He was one of the strongest people in the kingdom but even he couldn't stop the madness of the cardinal whom he let away.

If only he chased him down before his magic, perhaps Rammes would be alive and everyone would be healthy, but he didn't do that. So, regret engulfed his heart whilst guilt gnawing his mentality.

" Lord of High Sand, get up from your seat and clean the church."

He heard the sharp voice from his behind as he jolted up with a pale face, looking at the stern woman with confusion.

Selena who was missing an arm, was standing there with a calm face despite her struggle to keep her mind intact.

" You are the lord of this area and you mustn't show your ugly side to others when you are struggling. Who are you to cry in front of your people? Stand tall and walk firm."

Her harsh tone seemed to wake his mind as he put the bottle down with a bitter face. The somber mind of his instantly pushed the drowsiness away from his body, giving him room to think.

" I understand, ma'am. When is the priest coming?"

He asked with a polite tone while taking up the broom to clean up the area. The scattered flower petals were everywhere around the vicinity, so he would have to waste at least a few hours to completely clean this church up by himself. Fortunately, his knights also joined the parade with brooms and mops to show their respect.

" Three days. The archbishop from the temple of the sun is coming with the cardinal of the church of purity and truth."

Her words made everyone halt for a moment because those two titles weren't light titles. The church of the Sun had only a few people who had archbishop titles, indicating their power and authority whilst the cardinal of the truth church was responsible for external activities of the holy city. Only three people held cardinal positions in the entire church, so this showed how they seriously thought of the passing of their leading inquisitor.

Meanwhile in the inn

Daemon looked at his missing arm with a bit of loss, not knowing what to do in the future since losing one arm meant he was losing almost 30 percent of his strength and that was a huge drawback for a person like him.

" Fortunately the alliance of the church promised us a new prosthetic arm with a few personal items for our use. Even if your power drops for a bit, that doesn't mean we will kick you out."

Regina placed a cup of tea before him while mentioning the promise of the alliance. The messenger was shocked to hear such a thing happened to them and he promised a generous amount of supply in exchange for their prior sacrifice.

" I am not worried about that. I am not worried about my power because I regained it as a martial artist. What I am about is Lisha's mother. She will skin me alive after this."

His depressed tone surprised Regina who was thinking how to cheer him up. She even thought of giving him new equipment or expensive wine out of his sacrifice. Perhaps even promoting him wasn't a problem but after hearing his words somehow her anger surged up.

Her veins bulged when she heard his answer as she rolled her sleeves up to murder him, but thankfully Licht caught this early, pulling her back.
