Chapter 53 Small talk

The sun directly blew down to roast everything under its ray, but people of the south were used to it and so was Licht. The immense heat of the sun seemed to be familiar as he calmly looked around without using his ice power.

The power of fire was absorbing the heat and he felt his divine power was increasing with each moment. Although he couldn't increase his holy power because it was related to the sacred light of his bloodline, the sun was giving him an immense boost during the day.

" You are indeed a strange boy. Despite being an outsider you are absorbing sun energy on par with us who can turn into holy power. Tell me which religion you chose during your childhood because I can tell it is closely related to lawful good?"

Rammes asked with curiosity, thinking he might have connections with the sun god besides his contracted beast. Even though the sun hawk was a divine beast, a normal person wouldn't be able to utilize the sun power to the extent of him.

" Sacred light. My mother came from there and I know I have a strong connection to it despite having two divine beasts. Perhaps it had to do with my birth since my mother told me I was a miracle child."

Licht told him honestly, leading the way with a calm face. However, inquisitors fell into silence, thinking something inside their heads while shutting their mouths.

Sacred light was the dominant religion of the past and it was related to the belief of creation, unlike normal religion. The prayers prayed for the primordial force of light that resided in the stars. So it was often called a godless religion.

However, there was something that they truly excelled at and that was holy power. The holy power of Sacred light was different from than divine holy power of God. It was extremely gentle toward living beings with kind hearts but it was deadly against evildoers, so they often went out for crusades.

" Sacred light, huh? It is an old religion. Once they were the biggest church in the entire world but they only existed in the name after losing most of its personnel. Our church alliance couldn't stop their collapse as the biggest line of defense against evil fell back then."

Rammes spoke with nolanchy in his tone, recalling the moments when he exchanged partnership with them.

They were kind-hearted and good people in his eyes as they helped others despite their status, but somehow they were dissolved under immense pressure which caused thousands of deaths everywhere.

" Child, don't meet with the people of the church of darkness or death. They are extremely sensitive to your origin because Sacred light had a huge clash with them due to their beliefs. Although older foggers can tolerate you, young clerics would show their hostility. The same goes for us because despite being in the same camp, we also have different views. Thus light gods have a strong tendency of scorn toward them while they hate our guts."

The female inquisitor spoke with a serious face.

The other inquisitors nodded at her words, affirming she was telling the truth in this case.

" Why? Aren't you in the same camp?"

Cynthia asked with puzzlement, not thinking about their ideological differences. Honestly, it was hard to believe that siblings would face each other because Sun God's sister Moon Goddess led the dark faction.

" Sun God and other elemental gods teach us to be just and kind while Moon Goddess promotes to be wise and hardworking. So basically they see us goofballs while we see them as a bunch of arrogant assholes. Of course, it is different in upper echelons because we have gone through a lot but still tension is there and don't think it is a secret. Everyone knows our attitude toward each other."

The female inquisitor smiled bitterly. The order of paladins and inquisitors was fine but clergy was the biggest problem. Especially young clerics tended to be hostile to each other and older people had no time to fix it.

" How long do we need to travel?"

Leah said with a calm tone, thinking they were getting too close.

Even it had passed a few days after the incident, Blood Cardinal had no choice but to stay here since inquisitors were here.
