5 A Day with the Techie

KI Headquarters, Incheon, South Korea
After a couple days with that clean freak brother-in-law of hers, Sujin is exhausted. Jungwoo, even though banned from cleaning the office, still cleaned. Well, more like organized. If anything was crooked or out of place, he would very carefully make it neat and even. If he saw something and knew that he wouldn't be able to clean it, Jungwoo would glare at the dust or crumbs or whatever it was until they left the office. Once Sujin heard that she would be training with her older brother JaeSeong, she felt relieved.
⌠Finally! I can get training with JaeSeong. No more hanging out with the Prince of Cleaning!⌡
Little did Sujin know that her quiet, techie brother JaeSeong was just as bad as Jungwoo. Only, he wasn't a clean freak, he was a video game geek!!!
Sujin did not expect to see this when she walked into the IT office.
Employees playing video games?????!?!?!?!!!?
NANANIIIIIIIIIIIIIII?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
The employees didn't even greet Sujin when she came in, they just continued playing their video games. Bewildered by the sight, Sujin went around to a few employees trying to ask them questions, but no one would answer. Their soul focus was the video game on the screen in front of them. Sujin soon realized why they wouldn't answer, or thought she realized the reason why.
⌠They must be afraid of getting in trouble...⌡Sujin thinks.
⌠Why would they be so scared to get in trouble though? One branch of our company focuses video game development, so it's expected that the IT department tests video games. Why are they so scared? Or are they not scared??⌡
But, when Sujin took a closer look at the video game on the computer screen, she was shocked! This wasn't the game that JaeSeong presented during the latest press conference, it was LOL. League of Lords!
⌠What is my brother doing?⌡ Sujin asks herself.
Then, it dawned on her. Her brother was using the employees to help him win victories. She slapped her head. She just discovered the extreme habits of Jungwoo, and didn't want to imagine what JaeSeong's habits would be like. Then out of nowhere, a the LOL theme song started playing. All the employees got up and put their hands to their temple. Like a scene from a movie, the employees waited for their boss to arrive.
CLICK! The office door opens, and a tall man strides in, a foam sword in one hand, and black stains on the other. The man has handsome features, but half of his face is covered in black war paint, preventing anyone from looking at his handsome face. His tie is loose and his long ebony hair falls over one eye. Some employees gasp as this man walks by them, but they remain at attention. He makes his way to a glass desk in the middle of the room, and takes a seat in his throne (a swivel chair). The employees turn towards their leader, bow, and let out a war cry.
"PrivateSKYLORD483 reporting sir! Sir, in exactly five minutes, we have a duel with our rival, Lord Thief's Clan. SIR!" An employee dressed in an aviator outfit says.
"Hmmmm," the leader thinks. "All right. We shall commence our attack in a minute."
"But, sir—" the aviator begins.
"Lord Thief likes to play dirty. So we'll beat him at his own game." the leader says.
"Yes, sir!" The employees say.
The man stands, taking the foam sword in hand. He raises the foam sword above his head shouting, "TO VICTORY MY FELLOW COMRADES!!"
The employees release a war cry in reply and scream, "TO VICTORY!!"
All at once, the groups sits down at their desks. Their hands hover over the keyboard, waiting for the first command. The boss sits at his desk, his eyes on the digital clock, which is projected onto one of the office walls.
"Ready," he shouts. All hands are on the keys, anticipating the command.
"NOW!" the man commands.
And just like that, the sound of keyboard clicks fills the office. No one has their eyes off the screens. There's an occasional shout, but most employees remain quiet. Concentration is key in the IT department. One wrong click, and it could be over.
"Hey SpiritWalker123," one says. " Cast some better spells! We won't be able to get any loot with your weak, pathetic spells!"
"PrinceTechie67! Revive me! Revive me! I'm in the red zone! Help!!!" One employee panics.
"TheUltimatelyAwesomeMr.Kitty! NOOOOOOO! TheUlitmatelyAwesomeMr.Kitty is down! REPEAT THE KITTY IS DEAD!"
Gasps are heard when the employee announces that TheUltimatelyAwesomeMr.Kitty is dead. How could one of the best players be down already????!! The keyboard clicks and clicks of the mouse increase in intensity as the employees become anxious since TheUltimatelyAwesomeMr.Kitty is no longer in the game.
⌠TheUltimatelyAwesomeMr.Kitty?? What?????? What??????? What???????? WHATTTTTTTTT?????????????????????⌡Sujin thinks to herself as she tries to decipher this foreign language.
"WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!!!!!!" An employee screams.
"OHhhh! NOOOO! Reporting sir, the boss is extremely hard to beat! We've just lost four wizards!!" Reports one employee.
Meanwhile, the man sitting at the desk is uncomfortably quiet. He hasn't said anything since the battle started?!? As soon as he hears the employees' panicked voices, his hands start flying across the keyboard. Sujin watches as this man takes out more that twenty enemies in a matter of minutes. He hits the last key on the keyboard and sits back in his chair, sighing in relief. He not only handled the boss, but he handled the rest of Lord Thief's clan!
⌠Our boss is amazing!⌡All the employees think to themselves.
Although the employees and boss are celebrating the victory, and having the time of their life playing video games, Sujin is still confused. She's retreated towards the furthest corner in the office, slowly inching her way towards the exit. She prays as she slowly inches away hoping no one will notice—
"STOP RIGHT THERE FELLOW COMRADE! COME JOIN OUR HONORABLE CAUSE!" An employee dressed in gladiator get up says.
Sujin points to herself. Silently praying that this man speaking in that foreign language is not talking to her.
"YESS! I'MMMMM TALKING TO YOU FAIR MAIDEN!!" The gladiator screams.
"WILL YOU JOIN OUR PRINCE IN HIS NOBLE CAUSE? WILL YOU FIGHT FOR THE LIGHT AND HELP BANISH THE EVIL!?"
⌠Does he think I understand this foreign language?⌡Sujin thinks.
⌠Well I guess I can give this a try….⌡
Sujin nods reluctantly, "I'll join your cause."
That was a Big MISTAKE.A BIGGGGG MISTAKE.
Sujin is forcefully dragged to a desk and is seated in front of a computer. She's really really confused now, and rather uncomfortable, since all the employees are staring at her.
⌠A computer?!? They expect me to know how to play that game?!?!? Oooooooo, HECKKKKKK NOOOO. There is no way in Hell, in HELLLLLLLLL, that I am going to play that game. That is not a human language ok! THAT IS AN ALIEN LANGUAGE THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL!!!! THERES NO WAYYyyy. NO WAYYYYYY. NO. I REFUSE!⌡
But, of course, Sujin has to play the game 'cause things just never go her way.
Sujin starts to play the game. More like attempts to. She can't play video games to save her life. All the employees are shocked.
⌠I've never seen someone so bad a video games . . . . ⌡ They think to themselves.
"OKAYYYY. FAIR MAIDEN, PLEASE TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THAT COMPUTER." The gladiator shouts.
⌠Thank GOD!⌡Sujin thinks. ⌠I don't think I could have played for a minute longer!⌡
"I've never seen anyone with such bad video game skills," One employee whispers.
The boss's gaze snaps to where his sister sits when he hears that comment. His heart is hurt seeing that his fellow comrades have hurt his little sister. Knowing what he must do, he stands up and walks towards the desk his sister sits at. When he's about halfway there, he stops. Now, JaeSeong is usually very quiet, and prefers not to yell, but what he did next caught everyone off guard.
"DON'T YOU DARE DISS MY LITTLE SISTER LIKE THAT!" JaeSeong bellowed.
The whole office stopped at the sound of his loud voice. Everyone was shocked. The employees were shocked that their leader had yelled, but Sujin was shocked that the man with the black war paint on his face was her brother!
"Oppa," Sujin says anxiously, "It's okay. I really don't know how to play video games though. So, you don't have to be mad Oppa. The employees were just stating facts."
"NO!" The man yells. "NO ONE! I repeat NO ONE, WILL EVER DISS MY SISTER. UNDERSTOOD!?"
The employees all nod and quickly resume with the keyboard and mouse clicks.
JaeSeong walks over to Sujin, and takes her into his office. Once inside the office, he closes the door.
"Sorry little sis," he says his voice a bit hoarse.
"It's ok Oppa. Don't worry. It's a new experience, of course I would be bad. Now, let's get back to the office. I'm sure your COMRADES are waiting for the next attack." Sujin giggles.
JaeSeong smiles, and holds out his arm. Sujin links her arm through his, and they go back into the office to conquer the world of League of Lords and anything that awaits.
