After his accusation, Derek punched Ethan in the face.
Ethan Montgomery staggered backward, nearly falling. He stood up, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, "She's my woman. Could you have stopped anything?"
His dark eyes fixed on Derek, a bloodthirsty smirk on his lips.
Derek's forehead veins bulged, teeth clenched, "You're a complete bastard!"
He raised his fist again, but this time, Ethan didn't let it land. He caught Derek's hand mid-air.
"You have no right to criticize me!" Ethan's smile vanished, his expression turning stormy, the calm before a tempest, leaving everyone around them fearing what might come next.
"Avery's fate hangs in the balance inside, and here you are brawling. Why don't you go in and finish her off yourself? Make it quicker for her!" Jessica screamed, her eyes swollen from crying.
