"Are you heading to the office after dinner?" Avery blurted out, looking up at him unexpectedly.
Ethan Montgomery raised an eyebrow slightly, "Yes, there's an urgent meeting tonight."
Avery nodded silently, her tone lighter than before as she picked up a vegetable, "So you actually came back today?"
His hand, holding the chopsticks, paused briefly, his gaze lifting to meet hers, dark eyes glinting with a faint chill.
"I believe you should be well aware of your place. If you've forgotten the terms of our agreement, I wouldn't mind if you revisited it daily to prevent any misconceptions about your status."
His voice was icily resolute, chilling her to the core.
Avery Miller looked at him with surprise, a fleeting trace of disbelief in her eyes, quickly masked by a faint smile.
"I'm sorry…" Her voice was a whisper, delicate and easily swept away by the slightest breeze.
