This day keeps getting better

By the time Aria reached the door of the recovery ward, Joseph's scowl was as big as Stephen's smile. Just as Joseph was wondering how much trouble he would get into if he punched Stephen, Aria's voice brought him out of his thoughts.

"Come Joseph." she had said, walking past him into the corridor. Joseph gave one last nasty look to Stephen, narrowing his eyes, before he turned around to follow Aria.

"We all know who is the puppy now." Stephen muttered and his friend let out a snicker before they too, left the recovery ward.

In the corridor . . . .

Aria walked with fast, angry steps without knowing where she was going. Why couldn't she just have one drama free day? Aria had been so excited to go to classes today, but her mood had been completely ruined now. Why must she always play the peace-maker between these two brats. And why on earth was she the most frequent topic of their arguments?!?

Aria had been walking without looking at where she was going. Her angry stamp was interrupted by Joseph's voice as he spoke, "Aria! Watch out!" but it was too late. By the time Aria looked in front of her, she slammed face-first into Professor Samson, who had been going in the opposite direction. Aria steadied herself and thought, "Great! It had to be Professor Samson, why couldn't it be anyone but him?" as she bowed and muttered, "I'm sorry Professor."

Professor Samson: "I understand you are used to people jumping out of your way, but at least watch where you walk." He brushed the front of his shirt as he said this. Aria took a few deep breaths and opened her mouth, but she didn't say anything. She only bowed once more as Joseph came to stand beside Aria. "You should be more careful. At least you have stopped talking back." Professor Samson threw the words as he stepped aside to walk where she was going.

"I swear he hates you for no reason!" Joseph snapped as soon as the Professor was out of sight. "If only he wasn't a professor, I would challenge him to a fight." Aria shook her head and said, "Don't do anything stupid, please. Come on, let's go find Jacob and Helen."

Joseph nodded and the two went towards the dining hall. They found Jacob and Helen coming to the recovery ward, and they headed for breakfast together.

Usually, it was only Aria and Helen during meals. Each of the two boys had friends of their own and they sat with them. But today seemed to be an exception as all four of them sat at a table together. They were celebrating Aria being discharged from the recovery ward. Jacob had asked the kitchen to prepare some of Aria's favorite sandwiches and sweets, and Mary had happily obliged. Yes, Aria had been a bad influence on everyone, and now they all sneaked into the kitchen at various times.

But it was no trouble at all, as everyone who loved Aria was very happy that she was up and about. The four of them had an enjoyable time as they ate together, and many of their friends came to ask how Aria was and congratulate her on being discharged.

The day passed by quite uneventfully as Aria sloshed through the classes.
