Aria also saw Mrs. Scott looking worriedly in her direction, and she figured out that this person in front of her was someone no one dared to offend, not even the commander's family.
She tore her eyes away from Mrs. Scott and looked at the woman in front of her.
Aria didn't come from nobility and wasn't known in this circle, it wouldn't have mattered much to her even if she spoke now. But that would definitely have created some problems for the Scott family, which Aria didn't want.
So, the woman continued to speak and her son continued to try to explain, while Aria took the dressing down standing quietly.
Once Mrs. Carl was done, she stopped, panting.
Aria looked up and her black eyes were aflame. Anyone could see the anger in her eyes and people almost pitied this beautiful girl, she was about to offend the most petty person in the kingdom.
But, despite her anger, Aria's voice was completely even and emotionless when she spoke. "I wasn't trying to do anything to your son, Mrs. Carl. And you will see I am telling the truth if you just listen to your own son." Aria said, looking straight into Mrs. Carl's deep blue eyes
Mrs. Carl seemed taken aback by the aura that had enveloped Aria and didn't say anything as Aria turned around and began to walk towards the door by which she had just come in with Hayden.
A person close to the door put a hand on Aria's shoulder and said, "Don't take Mrs. Carl's words to heart. She's just, too protective of Hayden."
Aria looked at the person, smiled and shook her head. "I'm never offended by my seniors. Excuse me." saying this Aria walked onto the balcony and flew into the night.
Aria flew all around the mansion grounds not knowing what to do. She had prevented an outburst in front of everyone, but she felt really angry at how that woman had accused her.
Aria finally decided that she wanted to be as high up as possible and flew straight upwards. She had thought of landing on the mansion's tallest roof and sitting there, but that wasn't high enough for Aria.
She continued to shoot upwards and very soon a daring question popped in her mind, "How high can I go?"
Aria's lips curved into a smile and her hair gradually flew open as she soared upper and upper towards the sky, all her anger forgotten.
Aria didn't know how high up she was when she started to have a little trouble breathing.
"Of course! The air higher up is less dense. I wonder how high up am I?" Aria spoke to herself and looked down for the first time.
Aria was shocked to see that she was so high up that she couldn't even discern the capital city of the water kingdom, let alone Joseph's home.
She could see the whole water kingdom spread out before her eyes, and could even see the dark forest.
Aria's eyes wandered over to the direction she knew the fire kingdom to be. Aria wondered what everyone was doing right now? Did they all remember her? Did they think she was dead? Did her little brother even know about her?
