Chapter 1 - Death

In the endless void, fill with ever reaching darkness that crawls under the skins of those who experience it. The sudden presence of a light cause it to shine as bright as a sun even if it was just a speck of light. The bright light continues to float in this sea of nothingness. The emergence of a sound breaks the empty silence of the void.

"Sigh; is this all there is after death? Hmm, It feels so empty and lonely….."

This bright light is actually a soul a man named, Nicholas 'Nik' Mordrake, who was a doctor that has dedicated his life to saving people, died at the age of 48 years. Three years before his death, he successfully developed a drug to help decrease and eliminate cancerous cells in the human body especially for cancer patients. If taken early, the presence of any cancerous cell in the body will be eliminated at a fast rate while those that take at a late stage will have a slow rate healing, hence a cure for cancer. For this, he is hailed as a saviour by millions who suffer from this once thought terminal illness with few surviving its death grip.

Unfortunately, life goes on and hit went you least expect it, on the eventful day of his death, he not only found out his wife, Martha was cheating on him with his best friend, George but also had a car crash if an oncoming car carrying a person going to the hospital for a brain tumour. Oh, the humour? Even getting a cure from cancer it can still kill. Well, no use crying over spill milk, I suppose.

"Sigh, I should have lived my life more fully and not caught up with that bit.. next time, if there is a next time that is…"

The feeling of regret starts to burst from his soul as he had spent little to no time enjoying his life with most of it spent on work, while at home he tends to his responsibilities although he did love his wife, he still felt something was missing in his life that he still doesn't know. He spent his younger year persuing his study and doing martial art to keep fit but he never felt a sense of belonging or fulfilment with any of the things he did, maybe because each time he did something he would excel in it.

'Of course, there is a next time, Nik'

Suddenly, the melodies sound of a woman sounded inside Nik very soul. This development shock Nik with a face that looks like he had just been surprised by a talking dog or maybe a box which one is weirder, well that is if he had a face right now. Nik scurry around looking for the source of the sound and his search led him into an area that ripples the moment he touches it.

Nik was again shocked because he knew he had floated nearly every corner of the void, but thinking again it was actually not true because he could only record with his mind which is not entirely reliable as he has no starting mark that can be identified for him to record. After a few moments of contemplating, Nik took what can be considered a leap of faith or in this case a slam of faith into the apparent wall of nothingness.

Nik was greeted by another sight that causes his mind to scream because the wall or barrier took him into an endless room of white. Which to be honest does not differ that much from the situation beforehand. But lucky, there was someone else inside here and a beautiful woman at that. The woman was currently seating on the floor with a low table in between Nik and her.

The appearance of a woman greatly shock Nik but also made him happy especially when the woman was as beautiful a goddess. The woman has dark raven hair that reaches her waist, her violent colour eyes shine when she looked at Nik and her body had all the right curves with large breasts and rear side. After giving her an appreciating gaze, Nik asks her.

"Hmm, maybe, are you a goddess? And am I going to be reincarnated?"

'Yes, Nik, you are right, I am goddess Sophia, I am responsible for your reincarnation. You are going to reincarnate because of your accumulated karma as a doctor for saving million live especially the cancer victim. This amount of karma has allowed you to not only reincarnate with your memory but all have a wish granted to you, this wish is only limited to blessing for your next world, which has already been set'

"I understand, thank you for your explanation, can I ask what world will I go to?"

'Of course, the world where you will head to be called The Frozen Haven, where human, demon, beastman, elf, and dwarf race life. There is also mana and magic as well god and goddess of a lower grade than me'

"Hmm, then can I be a god-like you?"

'Maybe, to be a god you need to have a high-tier soul. Right now, you are only at tier-1 known as the mortal soul. To increase your soul tier will require a lot of effort on your part. But the advantage will be good as well because the higher your soul tier is the longer you will live and also grant you power that can help you fight beast or enemies that you might find in the world you inhabit.'

"Then, can I have a technique to increase my soul tier as well as a body with extreme mana containment capabilities and universal affinity of all element?"

'Hmm, okay, let see, hmmm, Nik, because the amount of karma you collected is quite extreme. I will also grant you an artefact that can help you on your journey indefinitely. This artefact will bind to your soul and help you but because your soul tier is still low its capabilities will be limited for now. The name of this artefact is known as 'The Dream System'. '

"Alright, the more the better I guess"

While seating, the goddess raise her hand toward the void and pulled an orb the size of her hand around 10 cm in the diameter. The orb on her hand slow floats toward Nik's soul and intending to merge with him. When the orb and Nik started to merge a bright glow start to appear, causing the already white room to even whiter if that was possible. After the merge, Nik's soul seems to be even brighter and giving a more positive vibe than before."

'Hmm, good, you have safely merged with the artefact. The artefact is equipped with multiple functions that you will find very useful on your journey. The other requests you have asked are already present inside the artefact and will be available when you reincarnate. For the process of your reincarnation, your memory will gradually appear in the span of 12 years after your birth and the artefact will fully activate at that time. After the conversation was over, a sudden drowse feeling emerges from Nik that causes his consciousness to fade away. The sound of a baby crying can be heard coming from one of the rooms inside a mansion of a noble known as Mordrake Household. One of the noble serving the royal family of Xander Kingdom, the only human kingdom standing in the continent of Aden after The Great War.

In the Aden continent, the entire great races have divided their territory with each other. This acts as a weak deterrent for the fragile peace that exists to this day and the birth of a boy will change this peace with his power in the time to come.
