Someone wants to kill us?

Soon Logan and Jason could be seen resting under a tree as they panted slightly bringing the question of what they had done. The tree had those weird scratch marks but since they had been here for a while with no sighting of any Fajis or beast they could only rest under this tree.

"Dude, why would you take us that deep into the forest when you don't know the way back?" Logan questioned.

A few minutes after the instructor had gone Jason said "Come on bro let's be going"

"Do you know the way back?" Logan asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I do, are you doubting me?" Jason hung his dual sword behind him as he took a completely different turn from where they came from, to the south in particular whereas they came from the north of the forest.

"Dude I don't think it was this way we came from" Logan said as he studied his surroundings noticing the place becoming more rocky.

"'Sigh Okay Mr. not the right way can you show us the way?" Jason said as he slowed down.

Logan could only keep quiet as he silently followed him.

'Roar'

A loud sound reverberated as Logan and Jason both turned to look towards the direction of the sound almost at the same time.

They saw a large creature that slowly formed from the rocks below the ground.

"What the heck is that? Don't tell me these perfectly carved legs were walking on beasts all this while?!" Jason could not help but scream as he saw the creature slowly turning to look at them.

"I told you we were going the wrong way" Logan said shaking his head.

"Bro, what do we do? I can't die here! I mean the ladies! What would they say seeing such a handsome soul gone" Jason said in a panicked voice.

'Sigh, what's with this guy and women!'

'I don't know, you're the cultivator here! And besides this was caused by you!' Logan wanted to scream but knew he had to be rational.

"I have a plan" Logan said whispering to Jason.

"I hope your plan works" Jason replied.

"If it doesn't you would be the first one to die to you have to make it work"

"F**k" 'Hah!' Jason removed one of his dual swords as he sent out an elemental attack. The essence of nature rapidly became fiery red as the attack was sent out creating an arc of flame.

"Now!" Logan screamed and immediately turned back and ran as fast as he could. Jason too turned back and run towards Logan's direction after summoning his sword back to him. 

Roar!

The beast roared in fury after it realized it had been tricked by two little humans.

While they were running Jason could be seen slightly ahead due to the enhanced speed and strength of cultivators but the fact that Logan was barely keeping up with his was enough to shock him because he knew just how fast a cultivator can be.

Present time...

Jason could only scratch his head sheepishly as he replied "I thought I knew the way, it wasn't my fault"

As Logan and Jason were resting a man approached from behind another tree, this man was clothed in all black with only a little space between his eye hole causing him to see them clearly. He had sent the previous man back after he had collected Logan's location from him.

The young man unleashed a cultivation technique known as "Dark Swamp." As a wielder of both wind and darkness elements, he possessed the ability to manipulate these forces to his advantage.

With a low voice, he muttered the words as the whole area around Logan and Jason became blanketed with darkness.

"What the hell is this? Did we go to the wrong place again?" Logan questioned as he studied his surroundings that was slowly turning dark. He could not help but wonder if it was another beast that was attacking.

The dark clouds that emanated from the young man's outstretched hands were not ordinary mist; they were infused with corrosive properties of the darkness element. although using the corrosive properties of the darkness element consumed much more essence, the black-clothed man came prepared as he popped multiple pills into his mouth.

The corrosive nature of the darkness element began to take effect with relentless vigor, eating away at everything in its path, corroding the trees slowly.

"I think... I think someone is trying to kill us" Jason said in a fearful tone as an ash-like substance in his hand slowly slid down and drifted in the wind.

"What the hell is that ash and where is it coming from? " Logan asked seeing that the ash-like substance had somehow infiltrated the air.

"Look at that!" Jason said pointing towards the tree they were previously resting at.

"What Is That? What happened?" Logan asked in shock seeing that the tree was slowly being eaten away by some dark substance.

"That's the corrosive property of the darkness element. One of the deadliest elements among the four rarest elements, it corrodes anything it sees in its path. And only high-level beasts could possess such an element. The faction elders had already made sure that none of them existed in the forest. " Jason explained.

"But couldn't one have been alive?" Logan asked.

"No. That's why I pointed at the tree. Lower-class beasts below the fourth rank can't control the flow of the essence of nature in them unlike humans and looking at the way the tree is eating rapidly it seems the person wants to kill us quickly. "Jason explained once again slowly taking out his dual swords behind him as he prepared to fight this strange person.

"Roar!" at this moment a roar was heard.

Recalling the beast from before Jason could not help but scream "The beast followed us!"

"Beast over here!" Logan screamed

"What are you doing?" Jason asked abruptly seeing Logan direct the beast towards them.

"If the beast can get here we could look for a way to climb it and find our way out of this hellhole" Logan said.

"That's right! Beasty boy, come to daddy!"

"What are they doing?" the figure in the shadows muttered.

"Oh I get it, you won't be getting out, well except you're dead," the figure said as he realised Logan and Jason planned.

The figure soon approached the direction of the beast.

He soon saw the rock-like beast as he immediately attacked with the dark swamp once again.

The once robust and imposing figure of the beast soon had patched of dark spots that were slowly expanding.

Soon the beast felt something was wrong but it was already too late, it flailed and writhed in agony as the corrosive darkness devoured its body, leaving behind trails of disintegrating flesh as the beast staggered.

The corrosive mist soon left the once formidable beast in ruins.
