A Glimpse Into Her Life

The clanging of chains continued as she pulled him along the dirty concrete. He slid easily and tried his hardest to steady himself, only being able to get on all fours and begin crawling.

"Amora! Please!" He begged, lifting his hands to show the scrape marks left from the ground.

"Shut up." Amora said, her voice rash and quieted. "This isn't even the beginning of what I'll do to you if you don't shut up." She spoke, her words cold, yet so quiet. Her throat always ached, the marks left from her death still lingered.

She began pressing buttons on the dusty keyboard. The terminal lit up a light blue color and began making noise as it started up. The gears turned and clanked, the machine moved and began stirring the air in circles.

"Time to see where Darkness ran off to." Amora spoke, holding her throat as it stung.

The machine twisted faster and faster until a rift-type figure appeared, circular in shape, and began to become transparent like a window. Amora looked inside and gently placed her hand on the rift. She slipped right through, pulling him with her.

"Amora!" He screamed as he rolled on the ground, hitting a wall, stopping him in place. "Ow…"

"Get up. Now." She threatened him with her blade. "This is the place." She continued, dragging him by his chains to his feet.

She slowly walked around the area, looking for some kind of exit to this identical building, it looked exactly the same as the one she was in moment ago, but looked to be in less disarray.

Amora found some type of staircase, mirroring the last room, just as everything else did. She began climbing the staircase, ignoring his pleas as he got pulled with her every movement.

She emerged into the outside world. A bunch of people stared at her from across the streets of the bustling city. Her torn and ashy clothing made her seem like some kind of miner searching for some precious gems. They also eyed the chain leading to him.

"So… the place isn't destroyed here." He spoke, a small chuckle leaving his mouth.

"Because you aren't here." Amora responded yanking on the chain and releasing him. "Any stupid moves and you know what will happen to you." She warned, dropping the chains, causing them to vanish into a bunch of smoke.

"You do realize… she'll be here… right?" He asked, rubbing his arms where the chains had pulled hard on his skin.

"Of course. Now shut it." She said, looking around at the civilians and charging up some smoke in her hand, sending smoke all around her, for a quick get-away.

"Amora. Were you in the city this morning?" Leon asked, looking at the news on his phone.

"No… why?" She answered.

"Apparently some people spotted you there is all. You came out of a building and ran off?" Leon continued, his eyes squinting to be precise about what he was reading. "Maybe just someone who looks similar." He put down his phone and left the room.

Amora tried to stop herself, but she ran over, unlocked his phone and looked at the article. An image provided by a citizen showed a girl who resembled Amora very much, yet they seemed so much older, maybe in their 20s or 30s. Behind the girl was someone who Amora could not see.

The girl looked so… dirty. It couldn't be Amora. She liked to stay clean and she showered maybe too much.

Amora put the phone down and returned to where she was, just as Leon returned as well.

They didn't talk at all. Amora didn't know exactly why, but Leon and Reyon didn't interact with her as much as they once did. It's like they knew something that Amora didn't know about… or maybe they knew something Amora already knew about…
