Ch 6 Learning to fly

Alex spent a few hours searching Ponyville for Rainbow Dash, he finally found her flying through the sky doing tricks. He also noticed a little orange filly with a purple mane and tail, she was on a scooter watching Rainbow Dash with a huge smile on her face.

The orange filly realized Alex was there and began to introduce herself.

Orange Filly: " Hi there! My name's Scootaloo. I've never seen you around here before."

Alex: " I'm new in town. My name's Alex."

Scootaloo: " Alex? That's a weird name."

Alex: " Well....uh....that's because....umm...my parents thought that a more simplistic name would be better."

Scootaloo: " Ooooh, cool."

It was then that Rainbow Dash took notice of Alex and decided to fly down to greet him.

Rainbow Dash: " Hey Alex! Sorry about this morning."

Alex: " It's fine Rainbow, no need to apologize. I actually came here to see if you could help me with something."

Rainbow Dash: " What do you need?"

Alex: " Could you teach me how to fly?"

Rainbow Dash's eyes widened in surprise at the strange request.

Rainbow Dash: " I don't know much about you Kyuubis, but I'm pretty sure you can't fly."

Alex smirked in response to her statement.

Alex: " I actually figured out how to get off the ground this morning, but my problem lies in moving forward or in any direction except up or down."

Rainbow Dash: " Show me and I'll gladly teach you."

Alex channeled spirit magic into his tails and began to spin them. He slowly lifted off the ground, but soon lost any stability he had and crashed into Rainbow Dash, sending them both tumbling.

Alex: " Haha, this could be considered payback for earlier, y'know."

The two shared a good laugh as they returned to there feet.

Rainbow Dash: " That was awesome! How did you manage to fly with just your tails!"

Alex: " Hahaha, I just channeled magic into them and got creative. So teach when's the first lesson?"

Rainbow Dash: " Hahaha, meet me back here tommorow and I'll teach you what I know. Don't be late."

Alex: " Wouldn't dream of it, see you tommorow Rainbow."

The next morning Alex wakes up and immediately makes his way to the spot Rainbow told him to meet her, where she was waiting for him.

Alex: " Hey Rainbow!"

Rainbow Dash: " Morning Alex! You ready to learn how to fly?"

Alex: " You bet, when do we start?"

Rainbow Dash: " Right now, get into the air!"

Alex channels his magic and then spins his tails, lifting off the ground.

Rainbow Dash: " Now, keep your shoulders straightened."

Alex followed her advice and managed to keep his balance.

Alex: " OK, so I can stay flying in one place, but how do I move forward?"

Rainbow Dash: " Lean forward to go straight, lean right to go right, and lean left to go left."

Alex once again followed her instructions and managed to fly around the area with out crashing.

Rainbow Dash: " Now the hardest part is...."

She wasn't able to finish her sentence as Alex crashes into the ground in an attempt to land.

Rainbow Dash: " Land..."

Alex: " Owww, that sucked."

Alex quickly returns to his feet as Rainbow Dash approaches him.

Rainbow Dash: " Are you alright?"

Alex: " Yeah, I'm fine, next is teaching me how to land."

Rainbow Dash: " Yeah, and then I can teach you some of my stunts."

Alex: " I like the sound of that."

The two share a laugh and continue Alex's flight lessons.

Alex: ' This is going to be awesome, and maybe I can get close to Rainbow in the process.'
