chapter 1

My name is Violet Vandur and fifteen years ago I killed my parents.

My parents were amazing, they loved me with everything they had. It was amazing, but like everything in my life good things never can last. One day we were in the woods practicing my elements, and then my emotions went everywhere and i lost control. My parents were standing up laughing and the next they were on the ground in the mud bleeding out. After that i was taken to an orphanage, three years later i was adopted by not so good people and then kidnapped. You know the rest.

And now....

Everything was different.

When i woke up, the leather seats of the car were replaced by sheets, so white it burned my eyes. I was in some kind of bed. I shifted beneath the sheets and a thin blanket. This place had screamed clinical, but the stone walls had shown medieval times. This was some kind of a hospital wing.

I rubbed my face, which it had felt freshly clean but raw. I ran a finger across my eyelid and found puffy tender flesh. It had obviously shown that I was crying, but It wasn't something i wasn't used too.

"You've been crying all night", someone said. I jerked my head to the side as a fit figure approached. Rice colored hair and tan skin paired with sparkling green eyes looked at me. Where ever I am, i want to stay. Just looking at him gives me less self esteem on my looks. I already looked like a potato, but now i look like a rotten potato that just got chopped up and then was put back together with butter. A young man, not much older then me, wearing a school uniform with an emblem on the right top left corner.

Everything went away as he sat in the black chair beside me

"Must be quite lonely here all by yourself", said the angel as if we were already best friends.

He was a tall figure, the boys at the orphanage had had weak arms with no effort to become more powerful. So this was completely new to me. Like me, the boys at the orphanage were weak. physically and mentally.

As I was about to say something someone walked in the room

"Oh, your up, thank god" a lean woman said.

" She's not a talkative one" said the boy.

As they were talking i was just looking around taking in this new scent of safety. It felt natural, I felt like i had belonged. I was so lost in thought that i didn't even notice that one of them were talking to me.

"Hello, you there" the boy said.

"Y-yes"

Alright Brook, it is about time you leave.

"Alright bye"

When the boy left, the nurse looked at me with so much sympathy and it reminded me of my mother. Thinking about it i just started crying, the tears trickled off my face and she just held me.

"It's okay sweaty, the academy can wait another day"

I didn't know what was going to come of me but i knew it would change my life. Whatever it was I was gonna love it.
