52 [50] "Preparations"

[Illuminati Headquarters]

In an empty room, stands a young man sweating profusely.

He is shirtless, wearing shorts and sneakers, moving rapidly from side to side and punching the air, his body surrounded by a golden aura.

Suddenly, he stops and drops to the ground, panting heavily.

A female voice, neither too loud nor too loud, is heard saying. "You have trained intensely for the whole month, I told you that you had to rest." The woman approaches and hands him a towel and a bottle of water.

Ares, the young man, thanks and wipes the sweat from his face and body.

"Thank you, no need to rest. I can't waste time, I have to keep training," Ares said as he wiped the sweat from his face and body.

Tina adjusted her glasses and commented. "You have a lot of confidence in your healing factor."

Ares took a drink of water and replied. "I am confident in my abilities."

Tina grumbled. "As arrogant as ever."

Ares smiled and took another drink of water, but didn't answer.

Suddenly, a flash of colors shone in the window, causing them both to look closely. They saw a large beam of light descending from the clouds and colliding with a marble platform.

Two figures slowly stepped out of it and the beam of light disappeared a few seconds later.

"They arrived," Ares said, referring to the figures that had just appeared.

"They're taking longer than they said," Tina commented, impatiently.

Ares and Tina exited the building and met two men waiting for them outside.

Harold apologized. "Sorry, we had a little trouble on the way, that's why we took longer than planned."

Edward looked directly at Ares and asked. "Did you recover? I heard you ended up injured in your last confrontation."

Ares replied with a confident smile. "I am fully recovered, did you suffer any injuries?".

Harold replied. "No, everything is fine. We just need to get our energy back."

Ares decided to take the conversation inside. "Let's talk inside, I want to be clear on what we are going to do with the World Academy."

Tina looked at them seriously before saying. "Don't cause too much trouble. See you later."

Edward assured her. "Don't worry." But Tina's dissatisfied expression didn't dissipate.

Harold bid her farewell saying. "Say hello to Kartein for me." Tina nodded and headed toward the tech building.

Ares, Harold and Edward entered together, preparing to discuss their next steps. The tension was palpable, but the goal of their meeting was clear, to establish a plan for the World Academy.

....

In the main Illuminati building, in an office with a huge table, three people are sitting.

"Could you tell me what is the reason you are going to infiltrate the world awakened academy?" asked Ares.

"First of all, I want to know if you will accompany us" replied Harold seriously.

"Yes, I will accompany you. I want to meet the director" said Ares.

"Good" nodded Harold and Edward at the same time.

"Now yes, can you explain to me what your purpose is? If it is to cause a worldwide disaster, count me out. I'm not interested in that" added Ares.

Harold and Edward looked at each other and then turned their attention back to Ares.

"You know that the world academy has many powerful awakened in their ranks and some of them pursue some talented awakened to get them under control or use them as puppets" commented Edward.

"That's obvious" nodded Ares.

"I recently discovered some interesting information. There is to be an important meeting between the leaders of many influential families in the world" said Harold.

Ares raised an eyebrow.

"They want to infiltrate when a heavyweight meeting is taking place?" he asked.

"Exactly," Harold replied.

"You'll most likely get a chance to fight some desperado from those families" Edward added.

Ares frowned and spoke in a low, serious voice. "Not to belittle them, but they think their strength is enough to get out of that place alive."

"Yes, we are sure" Harold affirmed with a smile.

Ares nods and says confidently, "Very well, let's do it."

"The heads of each family will not be attending the meeting, but their vice leaders or people with a lot of influence in their family," Edward said.

"Ohh... so that's why he's so confident," said Ares.

"Yes," they both said in unison.

"But just to get into a meeting, do you think it's enough to risk yourself to that extent?" asked Ares, looking with his deep green eyes at the two of them.

Edward took a heavy breath and said. "We want to take care of someone who will be attending that meeting."

"Ouh...you hit the nail on the head, and would it be possible to find out who that is?" asked Ares smiling.

"It's about Cole Baker," Harold said showing his great murderous intent.

"Cole Baker? He's not the leader of the Baker family, although they're not a very predominant family. In the last while they've become famous because Cole Baker killed the top 39, taking his place," Ares said.

"If this reunion will help his family climb another rung, that's why he's going," Edward said.

"It's our best time to kill. He haunted us for a long time and I can finally get my revenge. That's why I need your help, I want you to stop the other families," Harold said.

"JEJEJEJEJE... well, let's make an incident that will go around the whole world. I'll take down anyone who gets in my way," said Ares laughing fiendishly.

'This guy is crazier than I am. Just now he said he didn't want to make a big fuss,' Harold thought, staring in amazement at Ares' devilish face.

'Crazy... totally crazy,' thought Edward feeling a shiver run through his body.

"Now comes the fun part," Ares said with an evil grin. "We have to be meticulous in our preparation to make sure everything goes as planned. What's our plan?" he asked excitedly.

The three of them plunged into a lively discussion, exchanging ideas and considering all possible scenarios.

After several hours, they finally came to an agreement on how to proceed. Each knew what he had to do and what his role in the operation was.

This will not be easy," Harold said with a determined look on his face. "But with our preparation and teamwork, we can pull it off."

"Exactly," Edward added with a nod of approval. "I'm confident that together we can carry out this plan and bring justice."

Ares nodded, satisfied with the plan they had created. "It's time to get to work," he said as he stood up.

"There is much to do and little time to do it in."

The other two joined him, ready to begin preparation for what would be one of the most dangerous missions of their lives.

....

[Two weeks later]

At the top of the central building, the young man's snow-white hair danced in the soft wind as he stared at the hologram in front of him, the figure showed a person with dark blue hair and eyes.

At that moment, Ares approached and said. "Master, I heard that you are ready to go."

Kayden nodded his head and replied. "Yes, I will finally be able to face them."

Ares warned. "That's the last time I'll be able to tell you, be careful, those guys are scum."

But Kayden, confident in himself, replied arrogantly. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I know, it came about all this time, preparing me to fight them."

Ares smiled at Kayden's attitude and said. "You never change, do you?".

Kayden also smiled and replied. "JEJEJEJEJE... you don't change either, be careful."

Ares assured Kayden that he is always careful and Kayden said goodbye saying. "We'll see you soon."

Ares replied. "Yes, I expect to soon."

The conversation had been smooth and coherent, showing Kayden's confidence in his ability to take on his opponents, as well as Ares' concern for his safety.

....

[Two weeks later]

Two people were walking up the marble stairs, while behind them, three figures watched their backs.

Ares fixed his gaze on Kartein and Tina, who stood in front of him. "They didn't have to come to say goodbye to me," Ares said, to which Kartein replied with contempt. "Who came to say goodbye, I only came to find out when they would be leaving and I could come see them when they arrived dead."

Tina also expressed her frustration. "You just leave me work and leave, I regret more and more that I accepted. I helped you set up that satellite and told you it needed to be watched, and you leave all the work to me."

But Ares tried to cheer her up. "You're a genius, create things to make your life easier."

Despite Kartein and Tina's criticism, Ares maintained his self-confidence and assured that he would return alive. He climbed the stairs and stood between the two people on the platform.

A beam of light shot out from the platform and the three figures disappeared.

"They will still come back," Tina said.

Kartein, for his part, smiled and detected about the dangerous times ahead. With his hands in his suit pockets, he walked away from the scene. 'Those guys are the same, they always get into trouble' Kartein thought to himself.

....

The clouds opened and a beam of light struck the ground, revealing three figures.

Edward turned and looked around, puzzled. "Where are we?" he asked.

"We're a short distance from the academy," Harold replied.

"Let's move, we need to check security," Ares said.

Harold smiled and said. "I need some bodies for my research."

"They're just flies, we can wipe them out in an instant," Edward said.

"If they want it's their problem, I won't waste time on lesser beings," Ares stated, walking slowly in one direction.

The other two quickly followed him.

A few minutes later, they arrived at a majestic gate guarded by two guards.

The two guards looked intently at the three people approaching towards them.

The two guards arrogantly approached them and said. "This area is forbidden, whoever you are will have to leave or you will get in trouble."

The two guards and the three figures stared at each other for a few seconds.

"Meter in trouble?" asked Harold with a smile on his face.

The two guards frowned and turned to the young figure in front of them. In the blink of an eye, threads shot out of their fingers that pierced the vital parts of their bodies and a web of threads covered their mouths, preventing them from speaking.

Ares continued walking without paying attention to the two guards on the ground, bleeding, and stopped in front of the door.

Harold continued on his way, leaving the two bleeding on the floor.

Edward passed by him and on one finger of his right hand two dark green drops fell on the foreheads of the two guards.

Ares looked at that event and said. "As expected from the punisher."

Harold also smiled.

"Don't kill them, it's just poison so they won't cause trouble," Edward said in his blank voice.

The three of them stared at the door.

"They're ready, there's no turning back, we barely crossed these walls," Ares said.

"Of course, I've been waiting for it for a long time," Harold said.

"I'm ready," Edward replied.

"Then let's go," said Ares.

The three figures walked through the door.
