32 30: Deal

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

He opened the door, and immediately spotted a man sitting on a chair while signing some papers.

"Yo, Seongha. Busy processing the old mad doctor?" said Shinji with a grin.

****

"Oh... Shinji. Yes..." Seongha sighed.

"Do you know what to do with his assistant yet?" asked Shinji, and sat on one of the chairs in the room.

Seongha's eyebrow twitched in annoyance, and answered, "No. Both are refusing to cooperate. The kid, just like Delein, is stubborn. He keeps denying our help."

"Hmm... Hey, let me talk to the Mad Doctor," said Shinji with a hint of seriousness in his voice.

"Why? You're not going to torture him, aren't you? Just like that one time..." questioned Seongha, narrowing his eyes at the teen.

"What!? Of course not!..." shouted Shinji, his face looking offended at the adult's statement.

"Well, maybe a little if he keeps being annoying..." he muttered.

Seongha then sighs in frustration and tells the teen, "Alright. Fine. You can talk to Delein... but you CAN NOT hurt him. And, if you can, extort some more information about his experiments."

"Jeez, this is why Subin doesn't like ya," he told him with a grin, as he got up from the chair.

...

Shinji walks toward the Detainment Room, and he sees Doctor Delein, wearing a straitjacket, restraining any of his movements.

He walks in and the Doctor immediately voices out, "I already told you bastards that you aren't getting anything from m- Oh. What, they're sending in brats now?"

"What's up, Doc?" the teen greeted.

"Huh? Sigh. You're the Union Chairman's brat. What do you want?"

"Nothing... I just want to make a deal between you and the Union," replied Shinji, now more seriously.

"The Union can't do anything that wi-" Delein started talking but, he was cut off by Shinji.

"You give us all of your research, and we give you protection."

"Ya think the others didn't ask me that?" asked the old man with a raised eyebrow.

Shinji sighed and replied, "Thought as much... Well, then, we'll protect your little assistant as well."

"Huh??? You think I care about that... that traitor!?" exclaimed Delein angrily.

Shinji just blankly stares at the man. After a moment, he says, "Drop the act, old man. Did you think the Union wouldn't catch on to your shitty act?"

An angry tick mark appears on Delein's face... But he sighs and tells Shinji, "Fine. But, I'm still not going to accept your deal. We don't need your protection."

Shinji leans on his chair, crosses his arms, and replies, "Oh, really? Do you really think that you and your little protege will be safe, once organizations, be it criminal or not, hear about your experiments? No. Not only will they come after you, but they will also most likely come after someone very close to you."

Dr. Delein widens his eyes in realization and clicks his tongue.

"If you agree with our deal, we will keep information about you and your protege within Korea."

"Tch. Alright, alright." answered the old man, looking away.

Shinji replied as he got up, "Nice choice. Anyway, I'll be right back."

...

Once Shinji was out of the room, the doctor thought about some things...

*****

{Delein POV}

Tch. How could I have forgotten about 'them'?

Hmm. I wonder how "my clients" would feel about me being caught like this... I bet they're just going to send someone to obtain my research. 'That' group doesn't care about anyone outside of its inner circle...

I still remember the day when I met 'him'.

My... my daughter had just passed away... and I recently only started my experiments... Suddenly, that man arrived in front of me...

'I am interested in your research.' he told me...

After that, he had become my client... supplying me with the necessary pieces of equipment.

That was way before I took Wooin in... I doubt they would know about him.

The Union is efficient... They will protect him if necessary.

{Shinji POV}

Hehehe...

That went well. That old man probably thinks he gets the most out of this deal... But, he is wrong.

𝙄 get the most out of this deal.

He doesn't know that his research succeeded, at least I don't think he does...

Also, those things I spouted about the organizations outside of Korea... Those were simply bullshit!

Sure, some criminal organizations would probably like his research, but the non-criminal ones?

They don't give a shit about this. If it didn't happen in their country, then they simply don't care. That was one of the things I learned in WAA.

Hell, that applies to me! The Greyne Family sure were famous in WAA, but in Korea? Almost nobody knows about them, excluding the Heads of organizations, of course.

Well, back to the Delein topic... I'm sure there are some, that are wondering why I'm even interested in his research...

Well, if you guys are smart, like me, then you probably already have an idea of why I am interested in it...

.

.

It's for Scotus, dummies! If I have an Awakened Animal as my partner in crime, then I wouldn't be worried about my blindspots anymore!

I got this idea when I was training my Bloodbending like a Mad Scientist. I also started injecting Scy with my Force Energy, every chance I get.

Thankfully it doesn't hurt him, if it did, then that would have been very unfortunate. He told me that it actually gives him a soothing feeling, so that was a good sign.

Now... Let's tell Seongha about this GREAT news...
