The smiths leave as the event is almost scheduled to start, Selina is looking slightly disappointed that her big sis hadn't turned up, big Reima promised that she'd get it eventually, even if she's slightly late.
Selina perks up when some more shadows approach the event grounds, becoming slightly disappointed when its just Reah and Anastacia.
Reima gives a firm pat on her back, "Don't let your disappointment hurt your other friends and family." he says, nodding at the approaching women.
Selina fixes her expression and nods, "Sorry..."
Reima smiles, "Don't worry, just keep it in mind otherwise you might do something you regret, ok?"
Reah "Your Holiness! We've arrived!" she says, walking up and bowing deeply to him, Ciri, and Selina.
Reima "Come on Reah, do you really need to do this everytime we see each other?" he asks.
Reah "Of course! To me and the rest of the church you are considered the pinnacle, with your wife and descendants on a similar level." she says while directing a look at Selina. "You are one year closer to taking your father's position Princess, how does it feel?"
Selina is momentarily stunned by the question, having never considered it before, "Erm, normal, I guess?"
Reima "She doesn't need to worry about that anytime soon, I'm not going anywhere." he adds to relieve some pressure from Selina, not point discussing the subject on her birthday after all.
Anastacia "You've grown much Princess, we were there at your birth you know?"
Selina pouts, "Yes, I know... You tell me every year..."
Anastacia "Do I? I'm sorry, It's just hard to reconcile how well you've grown thus far." she says with a smile.
Reah "We got you some presents, but I could bless you aswell if you wished Princess."
Reima scratches his head, "As you said earlier, I'm the pinnacle of your faith... I don't think you could bless her even if you tried..." he adds, feeling that only Solaire would be able to.
Selina "It's fine, I don't need a blessing." she says, causing Reah to lose some enthusiasm. "Thank you for coming though, Auntie Reah, Auntie Ana!" she chirps, the duo's backs straightening at being addressed so directly.
Reima "We'll be starting soon, you should go find some seats." he says, the two priests walking off after wishing Selina a Happy Birthday.
Selina sighs, "They're not coming, are they?"
Reima rests a hand on her shoulder while looking towards the mountain path, "They'll be here." he states, though, if he were honest he wasn't sure what was holding them up. Nerissa had never broken a promise before, maybe he should check up on them?
A few more minutes pass and the event should've started already, Reima's about to walk Ciri and Selina towards the gazebo when they started to vaguely hear someone bickering?
Looking to the mountain path Reima smiled as he saw Nerissa, Moka, Mizore, Yukari, and Akasha walking up, some children accompanying them.
Selina can't hold back any longer and blinks towards them, leaping at Nerissa and hugging her tightly, "Big sister! You came!"
Nerissa receiprocates and pats her on the back, "Happy Birthday."
Reima and Ciri follow, "Hey everyone, how are you?"
Akasha smiles at him, "I'm well, I never thanked you for installing that transdimensional portal, I'm able to visit my daughters and grandchildren anytime I wish now."
Reima nods, "Its fine, just remember to stop any undocumented immigrants from coming in, its a pain to have them come in and start ruining stuff I've built... You'd think Yokai would be tolerant of other races, but they're nothing of the sort." he adds, having had to deal with this problem ever since he set up the portal.
The Yokai would enter and seek asylum from their world, saying that they were being trodden upon and their right to life denied... Reima at first had allowed a few, but when it became clear they wouldn't assimilate into the society he'd built, he'd sent them away just as the first few terror attacks started. Good thing too, he'd found sects of various Yokai plotting to blow up the library and other prominent buildings.
Mizore smiles at him, a young girl at her side looking shyly at him with similar features to her, "I'm cool."
Reima snorts, "Nice one... I haven't met you yet, have I little one?" he asks, bending down as they hide behind Mizore's clothes. Average length purple hair with red eyes and pale features.
Mizore "Lumi, say hi to your grandpa." she says, causing Reima to grimaces slightly.
Lumi "H-hi." she says, clearly forcing herself to interact with him.
Reima "You're cute." he says, causing her to blush in embarrassment. He looks over to Yukari and spots her slightly bloated belly, "Yukari, you been eating too many sweets..." he mutters, a frying pan materialises in the air above him and landing on his head.
Yukari "I'm not fat, just pregnant!" she exclaims.
...
Reima rubs his head to fix his hair, the pan not nearly strong enough to cause any injury, "Ah, congratulations..." he says, causing Yukari to smile and nod at him, "Any idea on the gender?"
Yukari "Its a boy." she says, rubbing her stomach gently.
Reima then looks to Moka who's holding her daughter, Vienna's hand. "You've been ignoring me Moka, only sending Vienna with Nerissa for play dates." he says, holding his hand on his chest in mock heart-break.
Moka shakes her head at his antics, "I've been helping mother deal with annoying Yokai, I apologise at not finding time to visit my overbearing father-in-law."
Ciri grins, "She's right you know?"
Reima "I prefer doting to overbearing, but whatever floats your boat I guess..." he looks to Vienna who's a few years younger than Selina, "Did you like the birthday present I sent you?"
Vienna had grey hair as if it were a mixture of Nerissa and Moka's own, red slitted eyes, and pale skin. She wore a gothic dress the same as Nerissa and Moka, apparently appreciating her parents fashion sense.
Vienna quickly nods, "Swords are cool!"
Selina "I know right? Dad always sends the best gifts." she adds.
Vienna "Ah, I almost forgot, "Happy Birthday Selina." she says, getting a hug from her.
