897 A Dull Knight

"What's this about fisherman?" a voice interjects as the vampires make their retreat.

Reima shrugs, "Nothing, just a poor joke... You alright Arie?" he asks the metal armed Witcher who's somehow managed to squeeze himself into something smart and casual for the event.

Arie nods, continually adjusting his sleeves and collar, "I guess? I have to say, silk shirts and a silver arm don't make for a comfortable mix."

Reima chuckles, "Why not just take the arm off then?"

Arie "I'd rather not... It feels weird being without it now, plus, if anyone got a whiff that a pure titanate arm was just sitting around my house it'd definitely be stolen."

Reima "If protection is what you need, I suppose I could lend a...-"

Arie glares at him, "Don't you dare, I'd rather not punch you at your daughters birthday party."

Selina giggles, "Don't worry uncle, my dad can take it!"

Reima "Oi! Who's side are you supposed to be on?" he says with mock-hurt.

Arie snorts, "Happy Birthday Selina, you're doing well at keeping your dad in check."

Selina straightens her back and grins at him, "Of course! Dad can't say no to me!" she boasts.

Reima "Oh? I can't? How about I bend you over my knee and-" a certain white-haired mistress of time and space pinches his side, "And... Er, give you a massage?" the pinching stops and he inwardly breathes a sigh of relief.

Arie nods at Ciri, "Seems Selina's not the only one, anyway, I'll find my own seat... I've been sparring with that barbarian to get some payback, but a pummelling is all I'm managing to get." he says, stretching his back and walking off.

Ciri "Now, dear. Our daughters Birthday isn't the time to be squaring up, you'll be a bit more lenient for today, right?" she whispers to Reima, receiving an exasperated nod in return.

Ciri "Now, look alive, more guests." she nods her head at the few people coming up the mountain.

Asgore slowly makes his way up while Undyne and Alphys follow closely behind, "Hello." he says simply while giving a small bow towards the trio.

Reima nods and shakes his extended hand, "Don't bother with the politeness Asgore, whether you accept it or not, I consider you family at this point. I'm sure my children do too."

Asgore gives a grateful smile that seems to radiate happiness from him, gently rubbing Selina's head as she approaches. "It brings me great comfort to hear that, how has your birthday been these far young one?" he asks Selina.

Selina "Its been great! So many people have come... Its almost overwhelming!"

Asgore "Just remember that they've all come to see you, the love and respect you've garnered here is not just due to your title or bloodline, its from your own efforts and achievements. I'm sure all would share my sentiments when I say, I am proud to have watched you grow into the fine child I see before me."

Selina blinks away the gathering tears and hugs the big boss-monster while Ciri and Reima look on fondly at them.

Reima looks to Undyne and Alphys who're also watching the spectacle with soft eyes, "How are you two?"

Alphys "I-er... We're here on a date!" she chirps, clearly happy through her nervousness.

Undyne "Why are you shy Alphy? How many dates have we been on now? HUNDREDS right?!" she exclaims, causing the glasses wearing monster to jump in fright.

Alphys "I know, I just can't help feeling so... Happy!" she says, holding her face as she blushes profusely.

Ciri "You two have been dating for years now, thinking of tying the knot anytime soon?" she asks, causing the two to go blank. "Er, wrong question?"

Alphys "I-um... I d-don't think we're r-ready for that... R-right Undyne?"

Undyne picks Alphys up and kisses her heavily, "NONESENSE! I've just been looking for the right opportunity! One's never come up, so SCREW IT!" she drops onto one knee and pulls a box from her pocket, "MARRY ME!"

...

Alphys falls backwards and faints, causing everyone watching to sweatdrop.

Reima just starts clapping, followed by everyone else... It was a foregone conclusion on whether or not Alphys would accept, it was just a matter of asking her without the woman fainting. "Er, congratulations? I guess? Be sure to send us invites for the wedding."

Undyne gives a toothy grin as she picks Alphys up over her head, "SURE WILL! She starts jogging over to where the seats are, halfway there shouting, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" to Selina who's just as confused at everyone else.

Reima "Well, they're lively if anything."

Asgore chuckles, "Its good to be young." he says, patting Selina on the head one last time before walking towards the seating, presumably to talk to Undyne about various things, probably including her and Alphys upcoming wedding.

*Woof!*

Selina "Sif!" she shouts, blinking over to the huge wolf that was bounding over to them, landing on its head and scratching the back of its ear. The wolf reaches the rest of the group when Selina finally notices that Ciaran and her new apprentice Lut.

The boy had almost reached his adulthood and was dressed in armour vaguely resembling Artorias, dark metal infused with titanite with blue cloth accents made his armour look like a lighter version of what the Abyss walker had worn.

Selina "Ah, auntie Ciaran, who's this? Your son?" she asks, the resemblance between the two was almost uncanny, silver-blonde hair with hazel eyes and soft features, even with Reima knowing of the boy's origin, it was difficult to not mentally refer to them as mother and son.

Lut straightens his back and places his arm over his heart, "I am Lut, apprentice of Ciaran the Lord's blade, a pleasure to make your acquaintance Princess Selina!" he says politely.

Selina snorts, and says "Boring!" before blinking behind Ciaran and throwing her arms around her neck, "Did you teach him to be so dull auntie?"
