Chapter 6 A Pot finds a lid

To be honest traipsing around the city looking for people to duel sounds easy when each member is carrying a literal Duel me sign in the form of the Duel Disk but my idea to go to the local park I found on a town map was a reasonable idea for Duel hunting.

I just want to tell past me that your idea was genius but remember everyone else is an idiot who don't follow common sense.

No joke I saw a pair of kids duelling in the middle of a busy street, not on the sidewalk but on the street blocking traffic, the funniest thing about it was one of them had a gyroid deck which are all those animated cartoon vehicle cards and the other had a pumpkin carriage horses and all on the field.

I was tempted to wait and battle the loser until the kid with the Pumpkin carriage played the most broken field card in the anime. The Golden Castle of Stromberg.

Seeing that I bolted faster than Malenia kills noobs and got the hell out of there, but following the plan I went for the Park and now I'm lost, It wasn't my fault it turns out its a full blow nature Spot with trees and a lake like New York's Central Park.

Just my luck that while trying to hunt for people I get lost in the only place not a Dark alleyway or street in this City.

The whole journey in the park also doesn't help that Miquella is complaining about how happy his sister is and how weirded he is at his sister's change in personality when Millicent is involved.

To give him credit him describing how his stoic and stalwart sister becomes a fawning mess wanting to interact with Millicent like a kid at a petting zoo is just alien to my image of Malenia.

It also doesn't help that Miquella is pestering me to explain how his sister has a daughter when she's never been pregnant.

Its akin to trying to explain magic shit when I have no magical capabilities, since the person who probably knows is Gowry, and Gowry is a smarmy prick and is un-trust worthy.

Maybe if Malenia asks him he'll explain but putting Gowry and Malenia in the same room as each other is a recipe for disaster, mainly for Gowry since he's a kindred of rot and I'm not sure if she likes them or not.

'I'm not really sure myself but I could give my idea of the process, in my world there are things that can birth more life via asexual reproduction, where it essentially makes a clone or a very similar copy of the original asexual reproducer and some of those reproduces were plants.'

My thought process is cut short as I bump in to a kid laying against a large tree root wearing a white coat with an auburn shirt underneath.

The most distinct features of the kid are that he's wearing a Duel disk and his hair is a mix of two shades of brown.

"Huh, what time is it?"

Looking at the kid his appearance reminds me of someone but I can't tell off the top of my head.

"You could probably check your duel disk since its so high tech, I would be surprised if it didn't have a clock function, do you think I could make phone calls with it if I placed it against my head."

Cracking at the light joke the boy giggles.

"Your funny mister, nice to meet you but why are you here?"

Sighing and looking around for others, I come clean.

"I'm looking for duellist but I'm not a native so I got lost, your the first person I've seen in a while."

At the mention of the duel tournament the kid frowns slightly but hides it quickly.

"Oh, yeah the tournament." He says with a hint of sadness in his voice.

Looking at the kid with some concern I ask, "What's wrong."

He hugs his knees with his arms and becomes smaller, "I entered an art contest and got some cards made, then Kiba Corp wanted to send some cards into space, thinking it would be cool i asked if I could send my friend into space as well, but now I'm having terrible nightmares about my friend being in pain, and now I have to enter this tournament without my friend."

When he speaks his woes to me it finally clicks with me who the person in front of me is, its Jaden Yuki the Yugioh GX protagonist but younger.

I knew gen 1, GX and 5D's share the same world this was just unexpected especially just after I've started my journey but I can tell he's in no shape to duel like his future self but that would be like kicking a puppy.

Looking at the child in front of me I come up with an idea.

'Miquella do you have enough power to form a single card'

[Well it depends on the soul you want, too strong the soul and its tricky]

'No worry, there's one little guy that would feel right at home with this potentate, get Jar bairn'

The request is quick and I feel a single card appear in one of my cargo short pockets.

[The spirit accepted but weirdly it asked to feel the hands of the kid. . . should I be concerned?]

Taking the card in my hand and out of my pocket I feel a phantom weight on my shoulder as Jar Barin appears on my shoulder in the view of both me and Jaden.

The sight of a jar the size of a head with arms and legs made of stone stuns him for a second but were both surprised when Jar Barin jumps from my shoulder onto the ground and waddles to Jaden Yuki and reaches for his hands.

"Say hello to a little friend of mine, he's looking for a care taker who has the stuff of champions, but he's very particular."

Just the presence of Jar Barin causes Jaden to lighten up at the goofiness of the walking jar.

"How can he tell if they have the right stuff."

I smile at how he's no longer so sorrowful.

"Well all I know he just knows by the feel of your hands."

At this point Jar Barin was able to get one of Jaden's hands and starts to rub it lightly before speaking.

"Yes, Yes, these are the hands of a potentate, his hands a silky smooth and I can tell his heart is a right and just one."

At jar bairns words I smile and it sets a smile on Jaden's followed at a giggle.

At my silence Jar Barin turns to me and speaks, "Please send me with him Coz, I know I'll miss uncle Alexander but I need to go on my own Journey."

The words causes me to feel a pinch in my chest right were my heart is as I watch as Jar Barin's card glow bright.

In my hand I now feel an additional card appear beneath Jar Barin's card, reading the new card is just smile handing both of them to Jaden.

Seeing that as Alexander giving his blessing I give the two cards to Jaden he looks at awe at the cards before looking at me guiltily.

"Your just giving me these two great cards and I'm giving nothing, how can I repay you."

Looking at Jaden I think. "Well you could give a duel like how the tournament wants us to, but instead of your rarest card just give me a pot of greed or something If I win, if I lose you take Jar Barin as the reward."

"Your on" Jaden says with excitement before jumping up and walking to a far away distance and activating his duel disk.

I set up my own by placing the G.O.R. deck in, my thoughts are paused though when Jaden asks for my attention.

"By the way mister, I'm Jaden Yuki, What's your name?"

Smiling at the kid since my last opponent didn't even ask my name.

"Its not important but you can use my nickname Drogan, or Dro. Now let's duel"
