Chapter 18
“No, thanks.” Rylan waved at his own food.
“I hope it’s okay that I hang around for the afternoon practice.” He picked up a larger bag Rylan noticed he’d set on the floor between them and held it open. “I made an impulse purchase which is the main reason I was late.”
Rylan peeked inside the bag and saw a box from a local sporting goods store. “Skates!”
“It would make me nuts watching so I bought a pair of hockey skates.” Brett went quiet for a few minutes while he ate. Once finished, he patted his stomach. “I was famished. I also stopped at the hotel and dropped other packages there.” He bobbed his eyebrows and smirked mischievously. “I got ahold of one of Clive’s sisters and sent his belongings to her house. She was very grateful. I did mention the tribute show and to let one of us know if they needed tickets, but she didn’t ask for any details.”
“I guess that’s all we can do unless they reach out and ask for more,” Rylan said.
