Chapter 1Chapter 1: The Hero's Journey

A world beyond what anyone can understand. A world where science and magic blur between the lines of one's reality. A world beyond fantasy, beyond fiction even, for ones that didn't believe in such possibility. A world which harbors the essence of magic itself, harnessed by one's body, expelled out in beautiful fashion. This was such a world, and such a world was clear during its golden age. Lands being soaked in mystic arts across every part of the land in the very planet itself, with warriors of varying sizes, shapes, colors, and even properties, all of whom mastering a signature style of magic. A style of magic that fits them most. A style that makes them work in fluid motion with their craft. The stars themselves glisten in bright light, before a strong flash erupted that coats the horizon.

And then.....He woke up.

Resting himself among the trees was a child. A child that donned a standard black tuxedo suit with a blue bowtie, having puffy, brown hair to match his medium skin. It was his first time being outside of his home for so long, yawning once he got his footing in the branches and looking out of the area. A wide grin was on his face, as he'd finally be having his start of a journey, one of his own making. He's brought along dozen's of books, most of which were of a standard hero that bravely fought against such monsters and villains. The boy got down on one of the many trees that made up most of the surrounding area, where huts and shops were built on, as well as a castle being in the center of the rich forest. The wood was sturdy, yet was often singed in burns beyond repair, forcing the locals to remove and regrow sprouts in the chance it would live on.

The Kingdom of Oaking.

Hopping from branch to branch, he'd make his way back down to the rich soil and ran across the streets, being met with the locals within his home village. Some liked him, offering him cookies as a treat and waving goodbye when he's out of eyeshot. Others didn't, pulling themselves and anyone around them away, as well as locking a few doors and setting up some metal as defenses if he tries anything. He was somewhat an infamous figure due to his brand of "fighting villains", with some commentating that the child was 'unruly' and 'irresponsible', throwing anything and everything on sight and laughing all the way. Usually the child would make up his wrongdoings and try to fix what problems he arose, yet even with such actions, the people still give him side-eye glances, being wary of whenever he tries anything to a "Villain" again. Lately, however, there hasn't been anything too noteworthy to defeat as of now. Nothing that truly stuck with him in this warm morning, nothing that made him wish to pull out his weapon of choice and cast his magic with no hesitation. He'd sigh as he'd climb up a tree and think to himself, but would be caught off guard by a noise.

A Sound.

Investigating the sound, The child would notice what seemed to be someone similar to him. Another child, one around his own age, no less, with skin black as night, wearing what looked like a leather jacket with a few patches on its side, as well as some grey pants. What's most peculiar was his head: Horns that protrude out like a bulls, and ruby eyes that was frantically looking around for a spot to hide. A Demon. The boy would notice as well some of the locals, all with angry faces plastered upon them, charging after the demonic child with pitchforks, holy water, and crucifixes, all aiming towards the demon as if they did a horrible crime. Taking it as a call to action, as well as a proper start for his day, the child would step down from the trees and help the demonic victim, taking out what seems to be a card from his sleeves. The card itself would glow when resonating with the child, squarely aiming for the crowd of individuals, casting a bright light to blind everyone, while the child tackles the demon into some shrubbery, giving him his concealment.

The blindness was temporary, and as soon as the mob regained their vision, they realized the demon was gone. The mob scattered across the area in hopes they cover more ground, searching for the bastard child that, at first, he didn't knew what was going on. When the mob disappeared, the boy decided to try and get some answers, striking a conversation with the demon. "Hi Hi, Scary buddy! You got any idea why you were running from these people?" The boy was the first to lead the conversation, waiting patiently as the demon would regain his breath

"JEEZ, I THOUGHT I WAS A GONER THERE....." The demon panted, looking towards the boy who saved his life. "Thank you, by the way. The nerve of these people, wanting to hurt me because of what I got. Next thing you know, they'd try to drown me and call me a wi-" The child immediately interrupted the demon's rant.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it, but who ARE you? You look cool with the jacket and everything!" The boy was brimming with excitement when it came to meeting this strange individual, looking around him like he was some sort of exclusive object, even checking out the jacket he owned.

"H-Hey!" The demon replied, trying to take back said jacket. "Easy with the Merchandise! It's all I have right now! The name's Zazel. Zazel Cal'cul."

"Harvard! Harvard Helsing! Where were you running from?"

"Ahh, Over there." The Demon pointed up north, nearby a clothing store, one of the owners panicking as he'd try to replace the leather jacket. "Some chump wanted to take this thing, which I RIGHTFULLY earned, by the way." The comment Zazel made would crack up Harvard slightly, before the demon adjusted his attire and dusted off any debris on it. "I tried to teach him a lesson, but then he started screaming 'DEMON! DEMON!' Like some sort of wailing dog, and everyone swiftly ganged up on me with the holiest object near them. Jerks.." Zazel's tone was shown to be somewhat annoyed with the locals in this kingdom, before shifting his voice to be more positive. "I'm glad at least you're more sensible. Since when were humans this mean to people?"

"You'd get used to it." Harvard would ease himself after such a chuckle, being more than familiar with pissing off a few locals in Oaking. He'd investigate the outside scene to check if the mob fully vanished away. He'd continue himself as he'd step out of the shrubbery. "Follow me. I know a place where you can wind down. Beats sleeping on trees, in my opinion." He'd joke, to which Zazel would be confused as to why he would say such a thing, but followed suit.

Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire

"Now, go forth, my mortal champion! Conquer this world—or else!" I lived a painfully average life and died by a stupid, stupid accident, but a goddess interfered, giving me a second chance in another world. There, I became royalty—the lazy kind with almost no obligations, free to live in peace and luxury for the rest of my days. Sounds like a dream, right? In reality, it was anything but—because I became *BEE* royalty. A Drone Bee, doomed to die of old age in 2 months! (A humanoid bee, thankfully, but still a bee in all the ways that matter.) The only way to increase my lifespan is to develop and grow my bee colony—a deadly task in a vicious world like this one. There are murderous insect monsters, colossal beasts trampling the earth, other civilizations, natural disasters, and the bitchy patron goddess who absolutely hates me. But as long as I have my brains, my bees, and the powerful genes my system gives me, my Bee Empire will be unstoppable! === For those who want to know more: This is a wholesome comedic story, but it has some dark moments. The focus is on kingdom building, survival as an empire, and interacting with MC’s beautiful bee wife and adorable bee daughters. The bees are all humanoid (see pictures) and human-sized. However, they are still bees in their ways of life and mentality. Although there’s a system, real growth comes from putting effort and time. Nothing happens in an instant in this story, unless it’s trouble. MC acts like an idiot sometimes (oftentimes), but he’s not actually stupid-stupid. When it comes to strategic decisions, he uses logic and reason. Even if you might disagree with it. Also, there will be no smut (ecchi is a fair game), incest, NTR, harem or BL. === Discord is up! Also, although I realize the futility of this aim (at least right now), if this novel reaches top 15 golden ticket ranking (and stays there for a few days, obv), I will mass release 10 extra chapters!
