Hiroshi's Promise

In the dead of night, everyone was sleeping in their houses. Hiroshi silently sneaked into a room through the open window where Kai was sleeping.

As Hiroshi crawled into the room, he saw Kai sleeping on his bed. Kai's entire body was covered by a blanket, including his face.

Hitroshi's attention was quickly drawn toward Kai's sword next to Kai's bed, triggering memories of the morning when Kai had wielded it to save his mother.

Unable to resist the allure of Kai's sword, Hiroshi approaches the blade. He wrapped his finger around the hilt of the blade. As soon as Hiroshi grabbed the sword, the symbols engraved into the sword began to glow, emitting an ethereal light. An enormous strength surged through him, catching him off guard. Overwhelmed by the sudden power, Hiroshi immediately released the sword in shock. The glowing symbols of the sword faded and returned to its original condition.

Hiroshi stood still for a moment, stunned by the experience. After gathering his composure, he cautiously approached the sword once more. He grabbed the blade once again, and the symbols glowed again. This time, Hiroshi didn't release the sword.

Determined, Hiroshi tried to lift the blade, but the weight of the blade was overwhelming. Hiroshi struggled, his muscles straining as he attempted to move the seemingly immovable blade.

Hiroshi refused to give up, his veins bulging as he continued to try lifting the blade. The sword symbols glowed even brighter, and Hiroshi's hands began to glow as well. The blade surged strength into Hiroshi, empowering him.

With a final effort, he managed to lift the blade one inch from the ground. As soon as the blade was lifted, Hiroshi exclaimed, "I did it!"

"Ahem," a voice came from behind Hiroshi.

He turned around to see Eiera, Rin, and Luna standing there. In fear, he dropped the blade, making a loud noise.

Rin swiftly cast a spell on Kai to ensure he remained asleep, avoiding the risk of him waking up.

Eiera crossed her arms and gave Hiroshi a stern look, "What do you think you're doing here?"

Hiroshi, stunned by the turn of events, struggles to find words. He stammered out, "I...I...W.."

Luna flew towards Hiroshi and spoke softly, "Calm Down. Take a seat."

Hiroshi listened attentively. As Luna spoke and then he sank into the chair, feeling overwhelmed. Luna then flew towards Eiear ear and whispered, "He's just a kid. Calm down."

Eiera calmed herself after listening to Luna, then she asked Hiroshi, "What were you doing here Hiroshi."

Hiroshi responded, "I...I...I wanted Brother Kai to train me."

Eiera's, Rin's, and Luna's Eyes widened after hearing Hiroshi's words. Rin spoke, "What did you say?"

Before Hiroshi could speak, Luna flew toward Hiroshi as she spoke. "Hiroshi, what are you saying."

Nervous, Hiroshi looked his gaze on the ground. Eiera came forward. She gently knelt and looked into Hiroshi's eyes.

She asked, " Why do you want to be trained by Kai?"

Hiroshi looked up as he responded, "I promised, my dad, I'll protect my mom. But today, when the rogues attack." Hiroshi's eyes teared up as he continued, "I couldn't do anything. I couldn't fulfill my promise. If Brother Kai didn't come, all of us would have died." Tears were constantly dripping from Hiroshi's eyes.

Eiera gently wiped Hiroshi's tears as she spoke. "It's not your fault, Hiroshi. You did your best."

"It doesn't matter. I still failed," Hiroshi said.

Rin interjected, hoping to lighten Hiroshi's mood. "Where's your father?" She asked with a gentle smile. "I'm sure he can train you better than anyone."

Hiroshi looked up at Rin, tears welling up in his eyes. "My father is one of the King's messengers," he said quietly. "He has to travel from Kingdom to Kingdom delivering his messages. He hasn't come home for the last four months." Hiroshi continued, "That's why I wanted Brother Kai to train me. I want to be just like him."
