The man fell onto Elian, whose sword had punctured his organs, resulting in his death.

Elian pushed the corpse away, trying to stand up. The guts of the man spilled. The crowd was cheering, "Eli!, Eli!, Eli!"

Elian vomited at the grotesque scene of the man's inner organs. Even though he was in the military, he was never exposed to combat.

Memories of the host surged in his brain. It felt like someone was hitting his brain directly with a book.

The host's name was Eli, sold to a fighting ring when he was young. His brain was still processing the former's memory.

This world was different from Earth. Here, there were warriors who could cut down mountains, mages who could manifest life and destruction alike.

These powers were not for everyone. The energy called mana is what gives them the power, and not everyone had the ability to manipulate mana.

Those who can force the mana outside their body can become wizards. Although they are physically weak, wizards' mana probably had affinity towards one of the 9 elements: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Space, Metal, Light, Wood, and Darkness. While those who can't force their mana outside the body but hold it inside the body can become warriors. Their mana was mostly neutral.

There are people who can have both the physique of warriors and abilities of wizards; they are called Swordmages. Eli, in fact, was a Swordmage. However, whenever he tried to use his mana, all he could see were spherical structures.

There are warriors who have an affinity towards an element but they were rare.

While 'Eli' was still processing the sudden dump of information, something suddenly hit him.

The audience was throwing coins at him.

Eli grabbed some coins and left the fighting ring.

An energy surged through his body. It felt like muscle soreness after a year of gym, targeting all muscles 24 hours a day. His back was drenched in sweat, but he did not feel tired; he felt strong, stronger than before.

He went to the fighters' area.

"Good fight, kid," an older man said.

"Thanks, Sir William."

William was actually a warrior. He was sold to the arena by an aristocratic family.

"Next time, don't vomit," just as they were talking, William's name was called onto the arena.

The crowd's cheering instantly went up. It was clear that William was one of the star fighters of the arena.

William's choice of weapon was a spear. He spun his spear for the crowd, which cheered even more.

William's opponent was at least one head taller than him, wielding a shield and an axe. He was also one of the best fighters of the arena. His name was Connor, Blood Axe Connor.

Both of them bowed to each other before the bell rang. The bell rang only for major fights. The bell rang.

Both of the fighters ran towards each other. William swung his spear while jumping high. Connor blocked it with his shield and swung his axe towards William's head. William did a somersault and dodged the attack.

The crowd cheered for William's acrobatics.

William put some distance. He started rotating his spear and lunged himself towards Connor.

Connor also countered by swinging his axe towards William's head. William ducked and pushed his spear to the throat of Connor, instantly killing him.

The crowd went nuts for the finishing move.

William did a bow for the crowd and left the ring.

"And that's how it's done," William said to Eli, who was still in awe.

"Ladies and gentlemen today's fights are over," the ringmaster announced.

Eli went to take a hot bath, a privilege for those who won.

Eli removed his coarse clothes. He had a very lean muscular build and looked about 16 years old

'How do I check my level?' Eli thought to himself, and just like that, the system screen appeared before him.

"The water's steaming, get in," Sir William told Eli. The fighters had to share the hot pool.

Eli got into the pool. "Next time, don't vomit after the fight and do some fancy moves," William advised.

Eli took William's words seriously. From the memory, William was the fighter that's been here the longest.

"I will try to... thanks for the advice," Eli replied.

William nodded.

'Hmmm, system,' Eli called out the system in his mind.

The blue screen appeared before him. '.. Who sent you here?'

"Not enough clearance level," the system stated. '.. What important info can I get with my clearance level?'

"None." A frown appeared on his face. It was clear that he can't get any info from the system.

He decided to check his mana skills. He can use his warrior skills but not his mage skills.

He used his mage abilities; his vision turned blurry. He looked around; he was surrounded by spherical shapes that seemed like two small balls connected to a big ball in the middle.

"That looks like a water molecule," Eli said.

"What looks like what?" Sir William asked.

Eli got out of his stupor by William's questions. "Nothing."

New mission: Learn aqua magic.

Punishment: Decrease in attributes by 3 points.
