The World - reversed

The compound was very lively Elijah had just slain a powerful vampire lord known for tormenting humans, he had no desire to dominate anyone.

He felt as long as he lived morally hopefully humankind would be nice enough to give back as payments in blood so he could help those in the clan afraid to take their own actions.

Elijah hoped more than anything he could give courage to weaker members to not mingle away their humanity as it was the most important part of their being.

Their judgment is one of the most valuable aspects as well, losing sight of mankind only makes them something else, the modern world peaking through every corner.

Dominique was lacing his boots as Gavyn was getting ready to leave, Trinity was tending to the garden in the mid-afternoon sun.

Most of the members sleep during the day, but well-adapted vampires will venture outside ready to take on the world, "Dominique we need to make sure we do not fail."

He waves goodbye to Trinity that day, she only smiles back at him watching him tie his hair back into a ponytail after braiding perfect pleats, "I swear you look so handsome that way."

"Lady Trinity, you literally like to joke with me too much."

"We need to leave now Gavyn!"Dominique laughs observing them flirt with each other, they dash into the woods making their way to town, Gavyn and Dominique were given the funds to take care of the household.

Dominique was upfront with the clerk tallying things needed from other members and food items in bulk for volunteer feeders that lived in the house, Gavyn was looking around slightly bored waiting to learn how to get them shipped.

Gavyn is walking around blindly getting used to the new brands on the market, trinkets, and toys he finds around the shop, a little boy peeks from the corner trying to take a better look at him.

The little boy trails behind at some point curiously giggling, he is a bad hider at times making him aware of his existence when Gavyn acknowledges him, "Well hello little one!" he smirks.

He waits for a little before answering him almost like he is stunned by something.

"Your aura, it's like a prism-like when I look into a clear crystal...it reflects rainbows!"

Gavyn looks around before kneeling down to the child, "If I trust you with something can you keep a secret?"

The youngster nods, "You bet I can!"

He closes his eyes taking his hand clasping it tightly concentrating on the kid's palm, he cries out in pain while the indentation of the ankh is burning his path into him.

"You are only human now... but I have branded you with my protection."

"So this is good luck?" He shouts holding his hand in the air spinning, Gavyn is amazed at how he is handling the pain he is most likely feeling right now.

"Yes it is good luck, but one day you pay that good luck back..."

"Christian, where are you, sweetie?"A voice calls out, "Christian!"

They both turn to look towards the other aisle, "Looks like your mother needs you, remember you can never talk about this good luck!"

Christian gestures happily to Gavyn, "You can trust me!"

He runs off looking back only to note that Gavyn is nowhere to be seen the next second only smiling, "Are you almost done, Dominique?"He asks leering at him.

"I am waiting on the receipt from the clerk, a little more time please."

Gavyn finds himself looking out the window, people chatting and having fun being able to consume foods at nearby shops, he felt a pang of sadness.

The realization how out of touch with reality he felt since their home is secluded with daily rituals with almost no more humanly interactions outside of learning the pain of the feeders but take it with all due grace and dignity.

A touch on the shoulder has him jump in the air, Dominique gives him a smile, "You okay?"

"Yeah..."

They exit the building passing by a lady who dressed in a full black dress, something about her presence had Dominique glancing back at her, her aura felt almost electric to him.

Back at the compound, everyone was relaxed, Elijah and Trinity would often greet the ones leaving for the night, Dominique was having a hard time sleeping the rest of the day.

He decides to get up from his slumber where he is welcomed by Chara who is collecting laundry from the feeders, they are active in the household allowed to go anywhere they wanted, oftentimes would be found chilling with the residents even.

One of them was a lovely volunteer who gave up her life to them was named Sophia, she always carried her hair in a braid, her locks of blonde were long.

Everyone was always trying to be delicate with her, she would often allow them to take as much they wanted, she was never sad or anything.

She was cheerful and talkative, she would often help Chara with chores; Dominique often felt a soft spot for her wishing he could do something for her.

On a warm afternoon outside Sophia was sitting with Dominique, she offered her palm to him during a small impromptu picnic he had for her as a treat.

They end laying together in the grass finding small things in hilarity with each other, instead of taking her blood he attempts to kiss her, she retracts quickly uncomfortable.

She gets up from her position to stand up turning her back against him, "Dominique..."

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No..."

"Then why else would you get up?"

"I am just...afraid..." She says nothing after staring up at the sun setting, he feels guilty.

The sun goes down on what he thought was a beautiful day, he thought Sophia had feelings for him, but he was mistaken.
