Figuring it out

Clarence is getting dressed later than usual before he notices Steel has been gone when he has awoken, patting the bed he looks around him, "Steel? Steel where are you?"

He pulls his pants on, his long undershirt, vest, and coat before grabbing his gloves hopping out of the room, "Steel?" he asks again peeking around the room.

"She is completely off her rocker now..."

Clarence says to himself, in the hall Steel is talking on her cell dressed up for the day, he sighs in relief.

Getting off the phone she stuffs it in her pocket, glancing over at Clarence she was unsure how to react to his blank expression, "Clarence?"

"What are you doing now?"

"The trackers are on their way, Edwin or whatever the hell, whoever he is is not getting away with this...Alex is my kindred..."

"I know Lady Steel, whelp I am off," Clarence states, Steel grabs his hand.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"To do the house duties?"Clarence explains, Steel points at Christian over in the corner leaning against the wall in a corner.

"What's wrong with him?"

"The problem is...that isn't the Devil's Assistant Clarence."

"Are you saying that is Christian's soul there?"

"I had Chara check...he needs attention soon Clarence."

"Let's rescue his kindred then take him to visit the Witch of the Mountain."

"Also James!" A voice chimes in.

"I see you finally woken Carol." Steel responds, "Can you sit with Christian?"

"Sure, maybe he needs time outside for once. He slept there all night." Doctor Carol replies strolling over to talk to Christian.

They watch sympathetically as he embraces Carol, "Wait...he didn't do that before!"

Clarence dashes over, "Christian...are you okay?"

He wipes away tears, "I am losing myself, Doctor Carol!" Christian says squeezing tightly to Carol's arms, crying into his coat.

Doctor Carol pats his head, "We will take you to the Witch of the Mountain..."

"What will she be able to do for me?" Christian says throwing a tantrum.

"She will get rid of Devil's Assistant." Clarence affirms, "Please believe us."

"How did I even get here, faces are fading in my mind, names are slipping," Christian affirms feeling like he is about to hyperventilate, his breathing labors as his body trembles.

"You are safe please calm down Christian!" Doctor Carol replies shaking him.

"Let's go to a private room okay? Let's not talk out here Christian." Clarence responds taking his hand leading him to a new room.

"I think I will just rest Clarence if it's okay with you?"

"I will come back later to check up on you okay?"

Christian only nods shutting the door softly behind him, Clarence accidentally walks into Doctor Carol, "Stop doing that to me!"

"I will stop when you stop being surprised every single time." He laughs, Clarence makes a fist banging the top of his head.

"Don't you have anyone to tend to today?"

Doctor Carol fishes his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket hitting the bottom with another hand until a stick shoots up for him to grab, he quickly lights it up.

"Go outside Doctor Carol! Clarence complains, he takes a long drag before moving away from Clarence, he slams into Carol forcing him to drop it.

Steel steps on it picking the smoldering stick up from the floor tossing it back at Doctor Carol, "Go outside if you want to smoke."

"It's not like we can catch cancer, you worthless leader."

"It's not like I can't kick your ass either Carol!"

Steel's cellphone ringtone starts to go off, she runs off leaving Carol and Clarence together, "I hope Steel's trackers found something."

"Oh fuck...are you serious, when did she push them out?"

"Earlier this morning...I wouldn't worry too much."

"They are professional vampire stalkers, you should worry."

"I never met them in person before, how do you even know this?"

"Because they are literally fang hunters, but some will work with vampires."

"As long as she doesn't bring them here I am fine."

Steel gets off the phone angrily stomping around, "Steel?"

"Leave me alone, please...I am not sure what is going on right now!"

"Then why are you angry?" Doctor Carol questions irritated.

"I am not angry...I am worried..."

"What do you mean Steel?"

"I think they may have seen Alex, they saw him down by the church of datura..."

"You must be joking me Lady Steel?" Clarence reacts shocked, "Was...he in robes?"

"I am going down there later...please come with me, Clarence."
