Earth: Reboot

When the real world laws started to apply in the game he put both skills to work and what he found ended his very life, a group of players that were outside the rules of the game and could kill your real world body. [New Skills]

Now that the threat was over Vindictus checked the notifications. Most of them were about the catastrophic kills that he had and then he saw that the title screen was flashing. He opened it up and was amazed that he saw three new titles.

[Title Earned - Vigilante I – Revenge killed 25 players that attacked you first. You are not a person that looks for trouble but the gods help anyone that comes for you. Any time you revenge kill a player that attacks you first you will get the same experience as defeating a monster of the same level. This skill is upgradeable but the count resets when you initiate a fight. Only revenge kills will be counted.]

This was crazy. He was not sure about how many it would take to get to the next level or what the reward would be but this was crazy. Most of the time killing a player would not award more than a few experience points to discourage Pking just for leveling. This would be something that he would have to keep in mind as he fought players.

[Title Earned - Efficiency Expert – You are the first player in the game to get over twenty catastrophic kills of players. When facing a boss at any level or a player the chances of you getting a critical hit increases by 15%.]

[Title Earned – Two for One –You killed two players at the exact same time with catastrophic kills. You have been awarded the sixth sense skill. All enemies within ten feet cannot hide from you. This does not counter any skills, you cannot see the monster or player you just know where they are in relationship to you. This eliminates all sneak attack damage.]

These three titles were enough that he would be extremely dangerous to all players that wanted to pick a fight with him. Now he needed to focus on the next phase and finish up some of his lifestyle skills to the next level. He wanted to be able to make enough potions to get to level ten and break through to start making intermediate potions. There were a few recipes that he needed to be at the intermediate level to make and they would be on point for the next dungeon. But given the interruption of the party attack, he did not figure he would make it. But he still had to try.

The shop was open all the time since players were available all the time and some could only play at night. This was a feature that they were going to fix later and shift a few things but for now this is the solution that they came up with. He went to the back and started making some of the harder potions. And he picked up the fire resistance recipe and started working on it. He was surprised at how fast and his proficiency and experience went up. Ten of these high level potions was enough for level six and he did not even slow down. He finished up the last fire resistance potion that he had stuff for and got the notification that his alchemy was maxed out at level ten. All he needed to do now was make a beginner potion at the intermediate level.

After he realized that it was almost time for the sun to come up he looked over the list and picked a few more people to accompany him and Head Shot to the first dungeon. He selected a healer, a guardian and a mage to join them. He sent out the messages to Brick and the others. While he walked towards the gate he sent a message to Crimson.

'Please send me the name of your guild leader. I have something that he needs to see.'

'Give me a minute I need to ask.' Not even half a minute passed. 'Silver Wolf Moon is his IGN he is expecting a message from you.'

'Thanks.'

'This is Vindictus, I was under the impression that we had an agreement.' He attached the video that he edited in between potions and sent it to the guild leader.

After just enough time for the man to watch the video he got a reply. 'If you are willing we still have an agreement. I will deal with Blood as harshly as possible. I will appeal to the council to remove him from the guild totally but he has an uncle on the council so I make no promises. But I will try. Please accept this as compensation.'

Vindictus got a notification and saw that an intermediate recipe was in the inbox. 'That is very generous. I was not after that, honestly I just want to be left alone to play. I am willing to send it back or pay for it. I would prefer to pay for it since it is a nice one to have.'

'I am sorry it is rare to see someone with your skills that just wants to play. You can send me what you think it is worth, our guild does not put a lot of stock in lifestyle players. We know that they are very important but we can't afford to groom them.'

Vindictus sent the guild leader five gold. 'This should cover it. Once the guilds go official I would like to make an arrangement with you. I will buy materials, formula and recipes from you, materials at a slight discount and I will sell to your guild at a slight discount.'

'I will bring this to the attention of the elders as well. We have another guild we usually do this with but I have not heard from this yet in this game. So no promises at this time.'

'I am happy being taken into consideration. I am headed to the dungeon to test out a few people. Have a prosperous day.' Vindictus closed the message board and met up with the other four and they headed to the dungeon. He hoped that they would be up to his standard. Or at least show some ability that could be nurtured.

Silver Wolf Moon sent a message to the council that he needed to speak with them at their earliest convenience about something that is currently a huge detriment to the guild. He got a response to log out and go to the virtual meeting room.

The video of the seven members of the council was up and running in not time. "Good morning council. We have an issues that needs to be addressed before the guy gets us in too much trouble." He altered his screen and played the video of Blood to the members of the council. After it was done he switched it back to his face. "Vice Leader Blood has directly defied my orders and as you heard he does not care about your opinions as well. This group of six players just killed twenty. They are already on a level that our core team from other games have not reached."

"Why did you tell everyone to leave this group alone?" That was Blood's uncle on the council.

"It was part of an agreement to get back not only the gear that our red named players dropped the second time he killed Blood but also as part of the details that has allowed us to clear the hell mode of the dungeon which awarded us half a dozen blue items."

The man at the center of his screen was a little surprised. "So he and his team got the first clear. And what do you mean second time?"

"Blood and two other players followed him in to the woods to rob him when they noticed he had a few gold coins. He killed all three of them without any issue by himself. Then when Blood heard his name on the timed clear he came running the dungeon and waited on him to come out and then attacked him with about thirty players. He killed all of them himself as the rest of his team was teleported back to the village. He then negotiated with me through Crimson and he left all the gear except Blood's sword since he will not leave him alone and as a bonus for access to the dungeon with the promise to not break the time by more than a minute or two I agreed to leave the party alone."

"So he had killed over fifty players and you want us to reward him? What kind of logic is that?"

"With all due respect elder he only killed the fifty people that attacked him and even left other red name players in the area that he could have freely attacked alone. If your spoiled nephew would leave him alone it would have been over after three deaths."

"How dare you?!"

The man in the center slapped his hand on the table. "Enough, what would you like done Silver?"

"I would like to remove him as vice-leader and put him on probation. If he goes after Vindictus or his party again he will be removed from the guild."

The man in the center hit a button and blocked Silver out of the conversation. He could see them talking and see that it was getting really heated until finally the uncle stormed off without turning off his camera.

The sound came back on. "We agree with your decision and his uncle has been the one assigned to inform him of this during the update this evening. He is also sending him a message to leave him alone today as well but so be it if he dies a few more times. Is there anything else?"

"Thank you sir. Yes actually Vindictus would like to come to an arrangement with our guild for materials and formulas. He wants to buy materials at a slight discount and sell to us at a slight discount. I know that we usually work with Heaven's Hammers on this but I have not heard from them yet."

"Hold off on that part. We are still in negotiations with them at this time."

"Understood council. Also have you determined which city we will be using as a base?"

"Not yet. East Haven is on the short list but with Vindictus and the possibility of a guild that powerful leaves us concerned."

"I await the decision of the council, but feel that should tell you that based on our brief interactions he is a lot easier to work with than any of the other guild leaders I have ever worked with."

"We will take that into consideration." All the screens went dark and Silver knew the conversation was over. He quickly took care of a few things and then went back to his capsule and went right back to the game. He still had a guild to run.
