A flash of light from the symbol on the floor, and you yell out in pain as a great, icy spike pierces your soul.

"The symbol grants you the power to pass through any barrier not wholly corporeal, whether magical or technological in nature," says Masfiwi. "You should have been able to guess that by now. You'd have saved yourself a great deal of suffering if you had."

You close your eyes and grit your teeth, trying your best to endure the pain. Finally, at last, it passes. Though it has left you trembling, and somewhat less than you were.
