Birdie's first flight

Well, I don't like the first two chapters so, I rewrote it a little bit. Definitely not because I forgot to write chapter three and let it rot with a 1k words. I promise. Either way, I'm happy that there are a few readers here. *cheers*

[Riser's PoV]

At the age of seventeen, I began having strange recurring dreams. In the dream, I reside amongst regular humans, just like them. 

At first, I thought I was having those dreams because of my dear mother's stories about the human world when I was a kid. When I asked my parents about it, they had the same reaction as I did. As a result, it was forgotten.

However, after three months, I began to have doubts. 

So.

I questioned myself, "Why am I having these dreams?"

Then I started going over all of my dreams, thinking about what I thought of them and how I felt when I experienced them. 

I noticed that anytime the human felt joyful, sad, conflicted, angry, or other emotions. I felt the same way.

It's as though the human, and I are the same person.

Then it dawned on me.

I reincarnated.

Reincarnation was frequent throughout human supernatural history. With all of the mythology out there, the underworld, or in a lot nicer and less frightening names, the afterlife, was a thing.

But

A human being reincarnated as a pure-blood devil? That is unprecedented, even hilarious to think of. But that is the only logical conclusion I can come up with.

When I thought that was the weirdest thing I'd experienced. Life smacked me over the face with another bomb.

I, Riser Phenex, the third son of the Phenex family, is a minor antagonist in a big-boobed anime intended for virgin suckers. Not only that, but it also starred my fiancee, Rias Gremory, and her peerage.

My brows couldn't stop twitching in frustration at what I had just seen.

I lost to a newly reincarnated devil named Hyoudo Issei.

It's not that bad, as he was the wielder of the [Boosted Gear]. But what in Lucifer's name was that? Cross and holy water in a devil fight? 

And holy crap!? I'm the villain? Hyoudo Issei is literally a worse version of me, and this man is completely obsessed with the boob part.

And why, Lord Sirzech Lucifer? Making my engagement party more exciting? Then why are you getting my bride to be a prize for Hyoudo Issei's victory? And if I win, I don't get any? 

And even if Hyoudo Issei loses the match, your second plan is for him to run with Rias using the griffin you provided him while you stop the Phenex family's force.

"Haaaa~" I couldn't help but groan helplessly while letting out a tired sigh. 

Rias, this is a disaster. I didn't want to be married to you, damn it. I'm marrying into the Gremory, not you into the Phenex; I'm merely a third son, whereas you're a legitimate heiress. I don't have much I can do against you. We'll probably fuck until you gave birth to an heir or heiress, at which point you can fuck off and do whatever you want.

"Is the mere thought of being with me so detestable to her?" I couldn't help but wonder. I am not that bad, although I do have flaws and am easily swayed by fleshly desire. I tried being a good groom before, until…she did that to me.

Now that I think about it, Rias is partly the reason I have a harem for a peerage. I was only joking with my father about having an all-female peerage at first, but then Rias and I met for the first time. She flung a glass of juice in my face in public to shame me, then blamed me for everything that was happening to her. Rias even said that it was her freedom to choose who she was going to marry and it's not me.

Was it my childishness that drove me to build a harem peerage merely to get back at her? Probably. Not that I cared anymore.

But I didn't regret it because all of them were part of my life now. Yubelluna, Mihae, Siris, Karlamine, Marion, Burent, Xuelan, Isabela, Ni, Li, Nel, Ile, Shuriya, and Mira, every one of them has a special spot in my heart. I wouldn't exchange any of them for others.

Tiredly sighing.

I couldn't help but worry about my future as I collapsed on my bed. But one thing is on my mind: I need to get stronger so that I won't be on the receiving end of what's about to happen in the future.

But before I could fall asleep, a mechanical sound rang. Then a series of messages appeared in my vision.

[Gacha System is now online]

[You have three random rolls available.]

[Would you like to roll?]

[Y/N]

"What the fuck?"

[Ravel Phenex Room]

Ravel was in a pickle since something had happened to her dear brother Riser yet again. 

Ravel could tell he changed yet again. Her loving brother began training like a deranged madman. He continued to torment his body by training it daily. He even forgets to sleep on occasion while reading grimoires. She wasn't sure if it was for the best. But one thing is for sure, she hated it.

'It must be that bitch,' Ravel grumbled, her teeth clenched. 

'Yes, It's that walking porn again, Rias Gremory! She's trying to destroy everything once again!!!! Why can't you just be a nice fiancee and spread your legs obediently?' Ravel's mind is spiraling downward. Her thoughts were getting darker and darker by the second.

After all, Rias Gremory was the main cause of how her good big brother had previously changed. 

He really did have a crush on Rias before they met. After all, Riser we're raised to be wed to her. But then she had the audacity to humiliate her brother in front of people. 

"Arrhg!! That son of a bitch!" Ravel shouted as flames began to spread in her chamber. "If she didn't simply exist... Nothing like this would happen."

"Yes, if only she didn't exis–Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha THAT'S RIGHT!!! She'll give him the love he deserves; after all, isn't it the little sister's responsibilities to make her brother happy? She would even give him babies if he wanted.

Ahhh~! They're going to have so much fun together!

[Riser's PoV]

[Phenex Training Ground]

A shiver ran down my spine while I was training. I looked around the training ground but didn't see anything suspicious. "Hmm, what was that?"

I then heard a voice on my side asking, "What do you mean, Lord Riser?" It was Yubelluna, my Queen. I glanced at her and replied. "Ah Luna, it's nothing important. I just felt cold for a moment earlier."

Yubelluna stared at me with concern in her eyes, "Haaa Lord Riser, it's probably because you've been training too hard for the past few months." 

She looked at me with a worried expression and said, "Shouldn't you rest for a day or two?"

Did I? I really did not notice. But looking at it, I really did huh? I guess those dreams crept into my head and caused me plenty of stress. The appearance of the system didn't help either, as it gave me more reason to train after I used it.

It gave me three free rolls, although one of them was a dud as I didn't get anything. The second roll gives me an ability called [Aura], which is somewhat similar to Touki from the Yokai factions, now I have a second set of powers I can tap into whenever I want. The last roll gave me a bottle of [Body Cleansing Pills], which is the main cause of my reckless training. It cleanses my body inside out and my gains from training are multiplied, it even increases the amount of [Demonic Energy] that I have. Although it can only be used once a week, it is still effective.

As of now, I can proudly say that I am now a genuine [Ultimate Class], although a low-tier one. A seventeen-year-old (almost eighteen) [Ultimate Class], which young devil can do that? Of course, I didn't deny the possibility of one existing out there. 

After attaining [Ultimate Class] the system rewarded me with five rolls, though I did not use it yet. I also tried numerous ways to gain a few more rolls but to no avail. I guess it will reward me only when I achieve something great.

"Lord Riser?" Yubelluna's voice once again woke me up in my stupor, As she was looking more worried than before. I replied quickly with a smile on my face. "Hmmm, wanna go on a date?"

"Eh?" She let out a cute voice of confusion as to what I said.

"What? you don't want to go on a date with me" I put my hand on my chest and put on fake teary eyes. "You wound my heart, Luna"

Realizing that she was being teased, Yubelluna giggled and said. "Yes, I would be happy to go on a date with you, my lord."

[Riser's PoV]

A few more months have gone by, and I am now eighteen (and a few months) old. For the past few months, my life had been the same as it usually had been. Although I mainly train my body in the mornings and study magic at night to balance my schedule and avoid worrying about my peerage and sister.

In terms of demonic power, I am now a mid-tier [Ultimate Class], and a top-tier [Ultimate Class] in terms of the raw power of my body. Those cleansing pills were a great help in improving my strength.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the results of my training, especially my physique. Despite the fact that my Phenex [Trait] may heal my body, it was preferable not to be injured in a fight. It will also reduce my use of demonic energy, making me more effective in combat.

Oh, and there is [Aura]

My [Aura] pool is likewise growing rapidly and is now at a mid-tier [High Class] level. It's quite beneficial in battle, especially in melee combat, and it can even protect me from harm. I'm not sure why, but I have a feeling there's more to this aura than I realize. 

//Few moments later//

The dining table is quiet as ever, although it's not frowned upon to talk at the table. It's tradition to eat quietly at the Phenex family dining table. Unless there's a special occasion.

Like today…

*ahem*

"Riser, I and Zeoticus had a talk yesterday when we met, and we decided to start planning for your and Rias's marriage," remarked my father. "So, I want you to talk with Rias tomorrow to smooth things out," I sighed as I heard it. I put down my utensils and looked to my mother for assistance, but she merely shrugged and gave me a look that indicated. 'You're an adult now, deal with it on your own.'

While my little sister, Ravel at my side, had a frown plastered on her face when she heard our father. 'Is she worried for me? How cute of her' 

"Father, you do realize that Rias despised my very existence, don't you?" I then replied to my father with a wry smile.

That was true, merely seeing Riser triggered Rias' rage to the point where her [Power of Destruction] would spill out unconsciously. Thinking about it, I couldn't help but sigh helplessly.

"Come on, Riser. Your mother and I hated each other before too." My father exclaimed."Now, look at us. We're such a good couple now, right dear?" He smiled sweetly at my mother who was giggling.

My mother replied. "That's right, darling. We're like cats and dogs before." She then looked at me and said with a bright smile. "My little bird, I know Rias is kind of standoffish. But she's a good girl. With our long lives, I'm sure you two will learn to like each other."

Sorry to disappoint you mother, but your son already has given up on her. This Riser has failed you. But don't worry, I'll find a better and more suitable wife for myself. And I'm sorry too father, I know that you and Lord Gremory don't just want this marriage for some political crap, and just wanted a grandchild. But, it's already a lost cause.

"All right, Father and Mother, I'll notify Sona Sitri that I'll be visiting Kouh tomorrow to speak with Rias," despite the fact that I know nothing would have changed. I'm such a good birdie that I can't say no to my parents' wishes.

All I have to do now is keep up with the tempo of Sirzech's shady scheme while establishing some positive reputation among the other nobility and common devils. So win the rating game battle against Rias and possibly destroy them as well. Fight the [Red Dragon Emperor] while demonstrating my superiority. After all, the devil race worships power above everything else.

With that conclusion, we quietly continued our dinner.

[Kuoh Academy, High School Student Council Room]

Sona Sitri is sitting in the middle of the student council room, performing her task diligently. Although, she can't shake the feeling that something bad is about to happen. But that wouldn't stop her from doing her duties.

"Kaichou, your tea is ready." Sona turned to face the source of the voice, smiled, and replied. "Ah, thank you, Tsubaki."

"No, it is my duty to serve you, Kaichou." Tsubaki Shinra reciprocated the smile while gently setting a cup of tea on Sona's table.

*Ring* *Ring*

When Sona heard the phone ring, she grimaced and looked towards Tsubaki. Thinking it may be her sister again."Tsubaki, answer it." 

"On it, Kaichou," Tsubaki replied while taking the phone. When she noticed the number who was calling, she had a puzzled expression on her face. 

When Sona noticed Tsubaki's look, she inquired, "Hmm? What's wrong, Tsubaki? Is it not my Sister?" No one would contact her without a reason, except her sister and parents. Thinking about it, it was probably related to the stray devils or something else.

"No, it's not Lady Serafall or Devil council even, it's an unknown number, Kaichou," Tsubaki replied hurriedly while looking at her, then she continued. "Should I answer it?" Sona only replied with a nod.

As Tsubaki answered it, a masculine voice was heard from the phone. "Ahh, is this Sona Sitri? I'm Riser Phenex, and I'm just calling to let you know that I'll be in Kuoh tomorrow to speak with Rias. Would that be fine?"

Sona gestured for Tsubaki to hand over the phone before responding. "Hello, it is Sona Sitri, and may I address you as Riser?"

"Yes, I don't mind," Riser answered lightly, then followed up with a question after a few moments. "Then, may I also address you as Sona?"

"Yes, I don't mind either," Sona responded coolly, before continuing. "It's fine if you come tomorrow as long as you are not disturbing the students."

"Don't worry, Sona, I'll probably drop by in the afternoon when there's no class." Riser answered back.

"Then everything is fine; I'll also notify Rias so she can make arrangements." Sona then glances towards Tsubaki as she responds to Riser, motioning for Tsubaki to remind her later. She then went on. "Would that be all?"

"Yes, that would be all, thank you again, Sona." Riser answered. He then went on. "Then I'll hang up now."

"It's my pleasure, Riser," Sona smiled as she responded. " Goodbye"

"Goodbye," Riser said his last word then the call ended. 

When the call ended, Sona sighed; she could already hear Rias complaining in front of her once she told her about Riser's visit tomorrow.

"Don't you think he's very different from his public reputation and how Rias-sama described him, kaichou?" Tsubaki abruptly remarked at her side. Sona arched an eyebrow at her, then said. "I believe so, but it's only a phone call, who knows, he could be exactly what Rias described him in person."

Riser's public reputation isn't important to Sona. She knows that kind of thing can be distorted by others, even if she is a best friend of Rias. Sona wouldn't trust her a hundred percent.

That's why, Sona avoids making judgments on Riser. At least, until she talked and had known him for a long time. But until then, everything can be taken with a grain of salt.

[Riser's PoV]

[Riser's Bedroom]

"Yes, that would be all, thank you again, Sona," I replied calmly while playing with my [Hell Fire], tossing it from one hand to another. "Then I'll hang up now."

"It's my pleasure, Riser," Sona replied and then she continued. "Goodbye."

"Goodbye," and with that, I ended the call. While also removing all the silencing and protection enchantment around me.

The call was surprisingly more pleasant than I imagined it to be. I thought that Sona would give me a hard time making an appointment to visit Kuoh, as she was Rias's childhood friend and best friend.

Not like that can stop me from visiting Kuoh, everything was just for formality. The devil didn't own the town, the true owner of Kuoh was the Yokai and Shinto faction.

I then looked at my bed and saw two dazzling women dressed in sexy maid uniforms. My younger brother downstairs couldn't help but feel excited and it gave a stiff salute.

I approached them and admired their seductive forms. "So, it's the two of you tonight?" I asked with a smirk.
