Chapter 4

Altair took advantage of the opportunity to observe the uniforms worn by the other students as he made his way to the Student Council meeting. He saw that the school, similar to the one depicted in the anime, had a dress code.

The boys' uniforms included a black blazer with white embellishments on a long-sleeved white shirt with vertical lining, a black ribbon on the collar, in addition to black slacks and brown shoes. The blazer was worn over a long-sleeved white shirt with vertical lining.

The women's uniform consists of a magenta skirt with white accents, a black shoulder cape and matching corset, a magenta long-sleeved shirt with vertical lining buttons, and a black ribbon on the collar. Additionally, the women wear a black ribbon on the collar of their white long-sleeved shirt.

Even though he didn't show it on his face, Altair observed that there was a disparity between the number of male and female students, and even though he was shocked, he kept his expression neutral.

The ratio appeared to be a little off because there were eight female pupils for every ten male students.

In spite of the fact that he was somewhat taken aback by this information, he reasoned that a school that had been reserved solely for female students would be expected to operate in this manner.

[Quest Alert!]

''What?'' After receiving the message that he had gotten from the system in his thoughts, Altair muttered something in astonishment. Altair had to create an excuse and claim that he had a random thought because he was given strange stares by a few of the other pupils. He said that he had just thought of something.

After that, the kids simply stared at him and shrugged their shoulders before turning their backs on him once more, as if he were some sort of deranged individual.

But Altair carried on as if he didn't give a damn as he made his way towards the student council, and the only one who knew what was really going on in his thoughts was Altair himself.

[Proceed into the building!]

- The goal is to sign up for classes at the Kuoh School.

- The reward is one hundred points and a skill handbook chosen at random.

"This Quest is relatively easy to complete, and if I look into it a little deeper, these system quests can help me to not be too far behind the other beings in this world," the narrator says in the beginning of the quest. This was the theory that Altair had at the time, and in some ways he wasn't entirely incorrect. At the time, Altair was nothing more than an average human with some strength, but it was nothing that would be spectacular when pitted against the true power brokers in this planet.

[A unique ability came into existence as a result of a special deed!]

"A capability was developed?" Even though Altair had some reservations, he decided to test out the newly acquired ability anyhow.

[Killing Intent]

- Level: 01

Description: It is the act of the user radiating a pure killing intent, which has an effect on their opponent, as well as on themselves and others around them, to the point where the opponent is rendered helpless out of sheer fright. It is possible for victims to have visions of their own deaths when the intent behind the attack is very potent.

Altair's eyes widened when he saw the talent that had been developed, and a foreboding of having been found flashed through his thoughts. He then proceeded to search his surroundings for the malicious intent that had been directed at him.

Naturally, he also expressed his gratitude to the Player Mind for defending him from this mental assault; had it not been for the Player Mind's intervention, he most likely would have passed out from sheer fright had the attack been successful.

But at that moment, he had the realisation that the purpose to kill was not coming from a devil or any other supernatural being; rather, it was coming from certain male pupils. The only emotions that seemed to be coming from them were rage and envy, but there was no indication that they had any intention of really killing him. When Altair finally understood what was going on, he couldn't help but acknowledge that he was on the verge of laughing out loud.

It's a good thing that the devils didn't take control of this town, because if they had, I definitely wouldn't make it through this. He let out a sigh of contentment.

''Also, I need to verify the function of this system's skill creation, as well as find out if it's feasible to force the system to produce new skills just by engaging in any kind of activity, and if that's possible, then I can probably abuse it to become stronger quickly,'' said the player.

Even though he was calm for the time being, his mind was always active, and he was constantly thinking of methods to improve his strength as well as ways to make better use of his system.

...

...

Altair had arrived at the Student Council room after some time spent wandering, and at this very moment he was standing in front of the door where the primary regent of this territory convenes.

On the way here, Altair encountered many students, and all of them treated him kindly, with the exception of three boys who seemed to want to tear his skin off with their eyes. This caused him to have some complaints, despite the fact that he had done nothing wrong, and it appeared that there were already three students who disliked him. And that was completely incomprehensible to him, but he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and knocked softly on the door that was in front of him.

"Step inside...

That was the only thing that he was able to hear, and the sound of that voice was enough to give him the chills. After all, it was a beautiful voice that could have been mistaken for the song of a mermaid if not for the weary and strained tone that the voice brought with it.

After that, Altair placed his right hand on the doorknob, and then opened it with his left hand.

''Excuse me.'' As he entered the chamber that housed the student council, he said something under his breath. Since he is aware of how strict the president of the student council is with the students at this school, he made the decision to behave courteously so that he wouldn't run into any issues in the future. He thought that this would be the best way to avoid any trouble.

As Altair was entering the room that housed the student council, she accidentally collided with two girls who were already present in the room.

The first female is a young woman who wears glasses. She has violet eyes on her left side and light brown eyes on her right side. Her long, straight, black hair reaches her legs and is parted in the middle. In addition to this, she wore blue glasses with a square lens and the usual uniform that all of the schoolgirls were required to wear.

The second girl is likewise a young woman, but she has violet eyes, short black hair, and a thin frame. Her height is approximately 166, and she wears spectacles. Her hair is short, and she has black hair with a short cut.

Hello, it's nice to finally put a face to your name. "Hello, my name is Souna Shitori, and I am currently serving as the President of the Student Council." Sona got up from her seat and walked up to Altair in order to shake his hand and greet him.

Because Altair was somewhat taller than she was, she had to tilt her head slightly upward in order to make eye contact with him, which made the scene a little bit comical and added to the overall amusement of the situation.
