Issei strolled along the bustling streets of Kuoh City, his mind still preoccupied with the recent encounter with Azazel and the revelation of Fafnir's presence within the sacred gear.
He shook his head, trying to shake off the lingering unease. "That was certainly a strange conversation... What do you make of Fafnir, Ddraig?" he asked, seeking his partner's opinion.
Ddraig's voice resonated in Issei's mind, filled with a mix of reminiscence and knowledge. "Fafnir was undoubtedly one of the most powerful dragon kings, rivaled only by Tiamat. He may be eccentric, but he has always been straightforward and truthful. I'm not sure why he would align himself with fallen angels, but then again, Tannin and Tiamat themselves are sworn to the devils. The last I heard, Fafnir fell in battle against a human named Siegfried. Supposedly, he was resurrected by the Norse Gods, but I haven't kept up with the details since I was sealed away," Ddraig explained.
Issei's curiosity grew. "Did any of your previous hosts encounter this Azazel before? Or know anything about him?" he inquired, wondering if there was any additional insight to be gained.
Ddraig chuckled, the sound echoing in Issei's thoughts. "Yes, a few of them did come across Azazel. However, he never left a lasting impression on me. I vaguely recall him being intrigued by dragons and sacred gears, but beyond that, I don't have much information. I highly doubt he would be deceitful, otherwise, it would have left a stronger imprint on my memories," Ddraig replied.
Relieved by Ddraig's assessment, Issei nodded. "Well, at least we can trust that Azazel isn't some deceptive individual," he remarked, finding a measure of reassurance in the knowledge.
As Issei continued on his way, his attention was suddenly drawn to a radiant glow emanating from the ground beneath him. The light formed the shape of a devil sigil, and a voice emerged from the glowing symbol, attempting to summon him.
Issei felt his body instinctively resist the summoning circle's pull. "No, I'm busy," he firmly rejected the summon, unfurling his majestic dragon wings as he took to the skies, leaving Kuoh City behind.
As he soared through the air toward his favorite spot on the ocean cliffside, Issei couldn't help but wonder about the identity of the person who had witnessed his entry into the city.
The thought of a persistent stalker sent a shiver down his spine, and he vowed to remain vigilant, determined to uncover the truth behind this mysterious observer.
Issei's mind buzzed with a sense of caution as he landed on the tranquil ocean cliffside. The encounter with the Fountain Girl had left him feeling wary, prompting him to take a moment to survey his surroundings before venturing into the Dimensional Gap.
He scanned the area, his senses heightened, searching for any signs of an abnormal presence or unusual scents. However, to his relief, there was no trace of anyone nearby.
Standing at the edge of the cliff, Issei's gaze drifted to his hand, a scaly talon covering one of his fingers. Without wasting any further time, he summoned forth his power, opening a portal into the Dimensional Gap before swiftly stepping through it. As soon as he entered, he closed the portal behind him, ensuring his privacy and security.
Inside the Dimensional Gap, a surge of triumph coursed through Issei's veins, causing him to burst into maniacal laughter. "AHAHAHA! Finally! It feels incredible to be back here! Let's do this, Ddraig!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with exhilaration.
In an instant, four magnificent dragon wings sprouted from Issei's back, transforming him into his draconic form. His body underwent a remarkable metamorphosis, taking on the distinct features of a dragon.
With a swift motion, he raised his arm, invoking the power of his Balance Breaker, causing the armor to envelop his wings, enhancing their size and imbuing them with a pulsating red and green energy.
Letting out a resounding roar, Issei focused his senses, honing in on the life force of his target, Red. "Let's go!" he declared with fervor, his determination burning brightly.
Ddraig's voice echoed with excitement, matching Issei's enthusiasm. "BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST!" Ddraig announced in rapid succession, his words fueling Issei's power.
In a fraction of a second, Issei propelled himself forward with unimaginable speed, hurtling through the dimensional space toward Great Red's location.
His velocity was mind-boggling, allowing him to cover vast distances in mere minutes. It didn't take long for him to catch up to the colossal dragon known as the Dragon of Dragons, who was currently engaged in breathtaking aerial maneuvers.
"RED! I made it!" Issei exclaimed with a mix of excitement and relief as he closed in on the majestic creature.
Great Red turned his head, acknowledging Issei's arrival with a proud cheer. "That's what I'm talking about! You're just in time, Issei! I was warming up my wings for the FOUR PORTAL EXPLOSION STUNT!" he proclaimed with a hint of anticipation.
Issei's eyes sparkled with eagerness as he engaged in conversation with the legendary dragon. "Hell yeah! So, how did you pull off the three portal stunt last time?" he inquired with genuine enthusiasm, eager to learn from Great Red's expertise.
Issei eagerly listened to Red's instructions, his eyes shining with anticipation. "I'm ready, Red! Show me the one and two-portal explosion before we go for the three!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement.
Without wasting a moment, Issei secured himself onto the back of Red's head, ready to experience the incredible display of power. Red, brimming with eager pride and enthusiasm, initiated their aerial maneuvers.
He soared through the sky in a looping pattern, tracing a figure-eight path that formed a magnificent, glowing red infinity symbol in the air.
