Youkai Traitors I

We had a relatively healthy dinner with minimal conversation except for Akeno who was into Anna asking her all sorts of questions while my girl answered cheerfully. She's the one to get along with everybody. Akeno and Rias with their supernatural background may understand her current predicament more than I do. 

I'm a demigod, but everything happened so fast that I haven't even processed it properly unlike Akeno who seems to be already ingrained in her devilish-succubish-seductress nature.

Devils are fearful beings.

"You didn't know you were a Youkai for so long?"

"No, but it looks like something quite fun~it didn't feel so bad".

"Are you sure? t-there are plenty of people who think Youkai are evil beings, your life may never be the same" Akeno seemed rather insistent with the subject to the point both Rias and Grayfia were glaring at her.

"Do you mind me being a Youkai, Ray-chan?"

"Eh? No, why would it?"

"You would like me regardless, right?"

'Cocky girl...'

"Of course".

"See, then being a Youkai is not so bad~"

"T-That..."

Well, Anna's answer stumbled Akeno, this girl seems to be having some sort of internal insecurities. Maybe she's not proud of her devil nature? I don't know... but from the start, Anna has never been a girl to care about people's opinions. At school she always hangs out with me, the rest of the kids evade me because of my dark skin but she still sticks to me regardless of what people say. 

I don't think she cares that much about being a Youkai but I must speak to her parents about it and see what unexpected reactions come alongside this fact. If it was that simple... then her parents wouldn't have concealed it from her.

"Anna-chan, do you want to join my peerage?"

'Here she comes again...'

"That is…?"

They had to give Anna a summary explanation with the whole 'joining the family theme'. They couldn't tell her the part of 'selling your soul and being a servant' theme.

"An-chan is ten years old... I don't think she's in a position to decide whether she wants to join you or not, Rias... you should consult her parents or wait until she's older to ask again".

"..."

Everyone on the table looked at me like I was mad before switching gazes with my mother who was firmly ignoring everyone and having her dinner.

"Aren't you ten years old too?" Rias pointed out and I just couldn't fight that logic. So I just shrugged my shoulders and allowed Anna to decide, I already know the answer anyway. 

"Are you joining her, Ray-chan?"

"I'm not".

With how ominous Anna's glare was, even if I had accepted, I'd probably have to change my mind. I think I'm surrounded left and right, what was their name again? Yanderes? 

"Sorry, Rias-chan, if he's not joining then I'm not joining".

Rias pouted and glared at my smirking self. 

'What? Anna is mine. Go look for someone else redhead'.

The dinner finished without a hitch and it was time for the maid and her mistresses to leave, according to Grayfia, they were going straight to the underworld to inform of the situation that had taken place here despite the fact that they were supposed to be on a 'tour' around Japan, if nothing had happened, their next destination was Tokyo as Rias wanted to go to a place called Akihabara which I knew about. 

"Once everything is sorted we will be back in Japan, you are the first person we will come to visit, Ray-sama, Anubis-sama and Anna-sama".

"You're welcome anytime-"

*RING!*

*RING!*

The bell rang frantically just as they were about to leave, I'm sure it was Anna's parents. Grayfia, Akeno and Rias took this as a sign to leave and they disappeared in a magic circle, pure magic. 

We were right. Although it was Anna's mother, Yamada Sanae, who arrived first. She jumped at her daughter with her body all wet after she was caught in the rain. 

"Anna!"

"Mom!"

"My baby... *sob*"

I know she must have been very desperate, we looked at the news on the TV as we ate, but there hasn't been a lot of information released or footage. Grayfia said that it is likely that those news are being covered by higher charges of the Onmyouji, after all... the existence of Youkai is a secret and they can't even be caught on tape.

She must have looked at the news and feared the worst standing in her workplace, that was until we called her to tell her that Anna was safe with us. 

Her father Yuki arrived shortly afterwards and his reaction was much the same. We didn't want to interrupt their meeting but questions had to be answered. 

Yamada Yuki and Yamada Sanae had hidden us and their daughter their true nature. As it turns out, they were more involved in this whole incident than we could have previously expected.

Our night was far from over.
