Chapter003 Exploring the System

(A:N Made Updates to the Rank's of the other Chaos Insurgents, which will be reflected in the new chapters and explained in this one.)

After talking to Nashio for a while, I got to know all the names of the other members.

The name of our Head Chef, is Malco Testani who joined after he was framed for murder.

Chief Engineer Nicolas Hofmeister, his father was a Nazi scientist during WW2 at the end of the war he was recruited, and then later passed his knowledge on to his son Nicolas Hofmeister, and was recruited after his father's passing.

Our 2nd Engineer Benjamin Morrissey joined the Chaos Insurgency to hide from the I.R.A for unknown reasons.

Our 3rd Engineer Jo Okland was recruited by higher ups after he graduated from college due to his high talent.

Troy Robbins, Randy Foster, Michael Watkins, were all American soldiers, who were saved by the Chaos insurgency, during their time in Iraq, and later were recruited

and lastly our Doctor Xian Hai, During a prison break in China, Chaos Insurgency extended lots of offers to prisoners who broke out to join, she is just one of the few people who joined.

You might ask, how I know all their backstories when Commander Nashio only told me their names.

Well it's apparently a feature I can unlock if I know a Chaos Insurgent's name, I can view their background, stats, ranks, and abilities.

The Chaos Insurgency Rank's individuals by their usefulness, and merits to the Chaos Insurgency.

The lowest rank is Sigma, followed by Delta, these are counted as Low-Ranked.

Mid-Tier ranks include Gamma, followed by Beta, these are mostly made up of veterans of the insurgency, or hand selected individuals by the higher ups.

Lastly, High-ranked roles, are Alpha, followed by World. Alpha is the highest rank a member can get, the World is reserved for the Leader of the Chaos Insurgency, which is me.

How the system shows me a member, is [Rank] [Class] [Skill Level] [Name]

which looks something like this

7th is the highest level, while 1st is the lowest, once they max out level seven they are promoted to the next Rank, and they will be rewarded with a stat boost, and experience token, which is pretty easy to guess what they do.

Classes include Medic, Marksman, Commander, Infantry, Support, Grenadier, Engineer, Crewmen, Spec Op, Militia, Spy.

I can also recruit more members of the chaos insurgency, from the system, but at the current moment I'm saving up for the System Upgrade.

It's five thousand Containment Credits, to upgrade to Tier 2, which unlocks a variety of different features, and unlocks better weapons in the shop.

But anyway I should stop blabbering so much as the rest of the team is about to arrive.

Turning my attention to Nashio and the others, he has already collected all the reports, and combined them and noted down locations on the city map

"Nashio, are you ready to give your report?" I asked Nashio.

"I'm afraid we're missing Mr. Hofmeister, Sir." Nashio said sheepishly.

"I saw him during my exploration of the city, I'm pretty sure he was chasing after a cat." said Foster tuning in

"A cat? I'm pretty sure this place is supposed to be completely abandoned, did anyone else encounter any animals?" I responded.

"We couldn't explore the entire city as it's too large, but other than the black cat spotted by Foster, it's a ghost town. Nashio explained.

"I see, it'll be too hard to look for him in such a large area, it's best just to wait for him to come back, he probably got lost, Nashio can you give the rest of the report now?"

"Yes Sir! We found several stores, though further inspection inside, it seems the food is fresh, but the stores seem to lack everything except groceries and frozen food, the buildings are supplied with electricity from an unknown source." Nashio said, he pulled out a map of the city, and started crossing out several spots where stores were located.

Nashio handed me the map, inspecting it, there were seven grocery stores marked.

"Sorry I'm late." Hofmeister said while approaching with a black cat in his arms.

The cat, looked very injured for some reason…

"It's fine, so explain to me what's with the black cat." I said, while looking at the black cat suspiciously, as it had a weird aura around it.

"Well, I thought I saw a woman go around a corner, so I followed, but once I went around it was just a cat, it started to run, so I chased it, when I ended up catching it, I didn't know where I was." Hofmeister said, scratching the back of his head, embarrassed.

'This aura fells, familiar, wait don't tell me, it's her!?'

"Hofmeister, you can let the cat go now." I said, trying to get Hofmeister away from it.

"Oh, alright." Hofmeister said while placing down the cat, and it started wandering off.

I quickly placed SCP-268 on my head, everyone was suddenly very confused as why they were there.

Placing both of my hands on the ground, I quickly shot vines that tunneled underground towards the cat.

It felt something wrong, and it quickly tried to jump away, but it was already too late, and the vines busted out of the ground and wrapped around the cat, paralyzing it.

'Looks like my risk paid off, but I don't think this would have worked if she wasn't extremely injured.'

Taking off SCP-268, everyone noticed me, and what just happened.

"You can reveal yourself, SS-Class Stray Devil Kuroka." I said while looking at the black cat.

Suddenly a puff of smoke went around the cat, and it turned into a young woman with long black hair with split bangs, and hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils, she was wearing a black kimono, a yellow obi, a set of golden beads, and an ornately detailed headband.

Kuroka showed an extremely annoyed expression as she couldn't move, let alone speak

Everyone one looked surprised, some guys looked like they were about to shoot blood out of their noses and pass out, but they somehow kept their cool, but I'm just happy she didn't kill anyone.

'Shit, if she is here, don't tell me…'

Illuminati's Confession suddenly alerted me of an attack flying straight at me from behind, I quickly dodge, and looked behind me.

"Damn it, Kuroka, I'll deal with you later!"

Everyone quickly drew their weapons and pointed them at the devil's, ready for a fight!
