Overgod Inheritances I

It was Li Suo's awkward coughing that prompted Jie Yuan to finally realise what was going on, she pushed Richter lightly and hugged her elbow, refusing to look at his face. The deed was done, she had acknowledged who she belonged to and there was nothing she could say to retract herself.

'I'm sorry, Ni Xuan...'

All she could do was try to apologise for as many times as necessary for her transgressions until her mind was clear enough to move forward. Richter's gaze was fixed on her piercingly... initially just a coincidental encounter in the time axis ended up transforming Jie Yuan into an invaluable existence by his side.

Having already stacked his claim, the dragon crossed his arms and switched his gaze to a pouting Li Suo.

"Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

"..."

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, master... nothing. This topic is extremely important... I didn't raise it up during the time those boys and girls were here due to how sensitive it is. I specifically concealed it from Grayfia".

"... why?" Li Suo's words took Jie Yuan out of her trance, she made it sound like an extremely sensitive topic.

"Speak" Richter ordered solemnly and Li Suo heeded. The Creation Goddess extended her arms and a ridiculous aura spread through the space of the Eternal Heaven Pearl, calling for the attention of the four Nephilim that so far had been in the previous platform, thinking about the future prospects of the training.

Four balls appeared in front of Li Suo, all of them emitting tyrannical might and immediately calling for Richter and Jie Yuan's attention. Three of them emitted unparalleled darkness while the last one showcased a ridiculous time law aura that threatened to even match Destiny in Richter's mind.

"Master, what is this?" Morrighan flew nearby together with Albedo, Benneth and Annette... their eyes fixed on those four balls of power.

"Cores... clusters of laws left behind by the original bearers after they perished. Even if a God dies, he's bound to leave behind the fruit of his or her progress" Richter explained. It wasn't the first time he witnessed such invaluable inheritances. The Heart Lineage had been one of such, Regalzeva's core and his own Primal Spark were the same.

"This is…!?" Jie Yuan was the most astonished out of them all, the reason was that of everyone in this concealed space, she was the most acquainted with the three dark shards in front of her.

Li Suo levitated forward, taking the four shards in front of her master whose light and darkness receded, showcasing the true might of the Inheritances.

One of them was a pitch-black drop that contained a Black Goldish Flame. Another one looked like a small black hole; a singularity roughly pulling all space around it. And lastly, the weakest of the dark shards was a semi-transparent sphere that resembled a soul.

As for the light inheritance with time laws, it resembled a material white lightning bolt.

"I don't know completely well what happened… but these are residual inheritances that were in the collapsed space of the Eternal Heaven Pearl when I recovered from the previous spirit. However, that spirit didn't seem to be aware of the existence of these inheritances. It made sense, such a pitiful soul wouldn't be able to sense the might of these shards" Li Suo vaguely explained.

Annette walked forward intending to grasp one of them, but Richter stopped her; shaking her head.

"Until we know how these inheritances work, don't touch them... the energy they're emitting is not a joke, Ane".

"Yes, master..." The silver-haired beauty retreated, but she had her eyes fixed on that Black goldish flame.

"Impossible… all of them!?" Unlike Annette, Jie Yuan did approach at a safe distance and inspected them with a gaze filled wit disbelief and shock.

"What are these, Jie Yuan?" Richter needed at least an explanation.

"My relatives... Original Darkness Devil Emperor, Nine Fiend Devil Emperor, Nirvana Devil Emperor. And lastly the Creation God of Order… all of their Inheritances in this place!?"

"Devil Emperor? T-They're like you?" Hearing that the inheritances were left behind by existences akin to Jie Yuan, the four Nephilim were even more interested.

"That is not completely accurate. The inheritance of the Nirvana Devil Emperor is incomplete… it seems that the old hag was wise enough to not put all of her eggs in a single basket, with her capacity to foresee the future; that is not a surprise. As for Xi Ke, he was never the type to leave an inheritance... I presume this Eternal Heaven Pearl was the battlefield to a titanic battle between these Devil Emperors and Xi Ke... they all perished here, surprisingly" Li Suo tried to deduce what could have happened but she couldn't come up with a convincing enough theory. It wasn't necessary, the main cause of the event popped up on its own to give an explanation.

"Those four perished by my Life Extinguishing poison... at that time Xi Ke had intended to survive utilising similar means like yours, Li Suo. He entered the concealed space of the Eternal Heaven Pearl, intending to hibernate until my poison had withered in the primal chaos. He was too foolish to foresee the hatred from the devils at that time. Those three Devil Emperors were determined to have all Gods perish with them. Original Darkness killed you, or so he thought... Mo E had fallen to the poison and Ni Xuan was infected, soon he'd perish... only Xi Ke had any hopes of surviving as the three of them were also infected by the Life Extinguishing Tribulation Poison. With Original Darkness' unparalleled control over spatial darkness, they managed to invade the Eternal Heaven Pearl's concealed space... there was no battle. The moment Xi Ke got infected with the poison, his fate was sealed"

The Evil Infant Wheel of Myriad Tribulations appeared in the form of a little girl with an eerie expression; her mere presence brought Li Suo nightmares.

"It was you" She accused the terrific treasure, but the little girl shook her head.

"No... it was my master's husband" She pointed at a confused Jie Yuan.

"Ni Xuan... stop spouting nonse-"

"Master, I didn't take control of Ni Xuan's consciousness as you thought. He willingly joined me and the Sky Poison Pearl, creating that Heaven-Defying Poison and spreading it all over the Primordial Chaos. His objective was to end the God Era... I had no need to use his dark thoughts to consume him... his dark thoughts had already consumed him even before I entered the picture".

"Master, what are they talking about?" Albedo was deeply confused just like her sisters, she didn't understand anything about this conversation.

"W-Why would he?!" Li Suo and Jie Yuan were both in denial, if anything this was an immense revelation that pertained to the destiny of their home. To know that the person they considered the hero all along had been the main orchestrator of the Primal Chaos disaster was a rough pill to swallow.

For Jie Yuan it made even less sense considering she knew Ni Xuan had plans for the future of the primal chaos, having his heir -Yun Che- face Regalzeva.

"I don't know... after everything was done and not even a single god remained; he handed me to the Moon Slaughter Devil Sovereign".

"That doesn't make sense! Then why would the Moon Slaughter Devil Sovereign imprison himself?!" The Devil Emperor protested, the fallen Devil God was found in a concealed realm of the Blue Pole Star.

'If the Evil Infant's story was the truth then he should have had the power to reign on a Primal Chaos bereft of Gods, instead of being imprisoned like a dog'.

"The Moon Slaughter Devil Sovereign was weak at the time he became my master. He was easily defeated by a remaining True God and imprisoned in the Blue Pole Star. This exiled God went by the name of Duotian and he was seemingly tasked by the Evil God to perform this task... that is all I know. After this, there was just darkness for me until master found me".

There was silence for a period of time when the little girl disappeared in a black haze, returning to Jie Yuan's soul.

"... Richter, I think in the future I will have to go back to that world. Some things are not right. Something is not fitting" Jie Yuan stated, holding one of his wrists.

"There is more to that catastrophe than what meets the eye. Even if I'm no longer part of the Primal Chaos, I'd like to know what the cause of everything was..." Li Suo followed, holding the other.

"The two of you are free to investigate your world. But that is not our current priority" He stated and they regarded each other before nodding. It was just inherent curiosity. Whatever the fate in the Primal Chaos may be, it was no longer their concern.
