Rias then introduced herself next and then sat down on the empty seat opposite to me. Akeno sits next to Rias and then everyone focused her attention on the redhead.

"I will get to the point right away. First of all, I would like to thank you for saving Saeko's life and the second thing I would like to ask is, would you like to join my peerage? You can answer honestly, I wouldn't get pissed if you say no, if you are wondering." Rias gave me an assuring smile.

"No, I would prefer my humanity over whatever you are offering. I believe being a devil has lots of pros and cons but I am okay with whatever I have, no need to offer me wealth, woman, and power, those things won't budge me."

"Understandable." She said. Rias eyes him, half pleased, half apprehensive. He seems so different.

"What happened after the accident, how did you get so strong in a span of a few months?" She asked. "Saeko had told me everything that transpired yesterday."

"Someone gave me a wake-up call." Rias doesn't look satisfied with my answer. "This someone is the one who is responsible for your sudden growth?"

"To some length, yes." I nodded.

"I will not probe too much but can you just tell me which faction are you associated with? The Heaven or the Grigori?"

"Listen Rias my benefactor is not related to these two." I honestly don't have any fucking idea what this heaven or Grigori faction is.

"Church?"

"Definitely not." Rias stared at me, I didn't back down and stared back.

"Are you a threat to us?"

"Only a fool would be crazy enough to mess with the little sister of Lucifer." She seems somewhat satisfied with my answer. Lucifer would be hella strong, right now I have no chance to go against people like that.

"How much do you know about the supernatural world?" Rias asked.

"Not much."

"This benefactor of yours did not tell you basic things?" I shook my head. She sighed & cleared her throat. I have a feeling she knew I was lying to some extent, but she choose to not dwell too deeper into my matters.

"We, the Devils, & the Fallen Angels have been at war since ancient times. We have been fighting over the possession of the Underworld, which is also known as Hell in the human world. The hell or the Underworld is split into two areas, one for Devils and one for Fallen Angels. The Devils form pacts with humans and receive their sacrifices and increase their strength. The Fallen Angels on the other hand control humans to eliminate Devils. At this point, the Angels come in to destroy these two races on God's orders, which creates the three forces. This has been going on since ancient times." Rias narrated.

"This town is under my and Sona's jurisdiction. Sometimes fallen angel would come in contact with humans to accomplish a certain goal. Just like the case of Saeko, a week ago she was..." Rias stopped and shared a look with Saeko.

"I was killed by one of them on the way to home, Rias reincarnated me as one of her servant."

"For what? Why target human beings?

"Saeko possessed a Sacred Gear and strong one at that." Rias replied.

Akeno then speaks.

"Sacred Gear is an irregular power that is bestowed to certain humans. For example, most of the people whose names are recorded in history are said to be possessors of a Sacred Gear. They used the power of their Sacred Gear to record their name in history." Akeno continues.

"Presently, there are people who possess Sacred Gears within their bodies. You know those people who play an important role worldwide? Most of those people possess a Sacred Gear."

Rias then continues to explain.

"Most of the Sacred Gears have functions that are only usable in the human society. But there are exceptional Sacred Gears that are a threat to us, the Devils, and Fallen Angels. Saeko, raise your hand." Saeko raised her left arm, it literally started to radiate light and then the light starts to take form and covered her left arm. After the light disappears, her left arm is covered in a red gauntlet, equipped with a green jewel.

"That's a Sacred Gear. Once it appears, you can use it anywhere and anytime as you will." Rias finished.

"Then why did you not use it that time?"

"I am still new to this kind of thing; I haven't figured out how to awaken it yet," Saeko said with a touch of redness on her face, is she embarrassed?

"Akeno bring those books out from the shelves." Rias nudged her as she gestured towards specific books stacked on the top shelf. Akeno stood up & quickly fetched up some books from the shelves situated in the room.

"Issei, the supernatural world is not kind to humankind. Without any backings, you will be targeted by various powers. So, I have a deal for you, form a contract with me, we both can get benefits from this. I can use a man like you and in return, I will protect you from unsavory peoples." Rias proposed.

"And If you feel that I haven't kept my promises you can cancel the contract between us, whenever you want." She added.

"What's a contract?"

"It's a magical oath type of thing, but on paper. Both of us will add our own set of rules in it, and if we broke a rule made by the opposite party, the whole contract will become null." Rias explained.

"Just that?"

"Nope, there is more, every time I ask for your assistance you can name your price. Right now all I can give you is money, and information about the supernatural world." Rias gave an apologetic look.

"I honestly expect you guys to pounce on me when I walk through that door, but you guys are pretty chill."

"We don't do that here," Koneko muttered.

"Take these books with you. They will let you grasp the history of the three factions and how the hierarchy in hell works." Rias took the books from Akeno's lap and placed them before me.

"This one?" I pointed at the old worn book.

"You will find some basic information on pantheons and their chief Gods." Oh, I see. Now that the topic of God has come up, there is something I always wanted to ask, there is this one question in the back of my mind.

"Hey, I want to ask you something." I continued. "Since you are the little sister of Lucifer you are quite knowledgeable I believe, so is it true that Zeus make out with animals?" Both Akeno and Saeko cracked up, they let out sweet little giggles.

I have read books on greek gods, and honestly who fucks an animal... When you have a beautiful wife by her side... I can wrap my head around it. It's weird...

Rias let out an amused chuckle. "Not everything written in books is the truth, but my brother did confirmed they are into things that are immoral even to our standards."

"Damn, God's are weird."

"Weird is not the word I would associate them with, some are very crazy, some are into kinky things, especially Lord Odin. He is a massive pervert." Rias giggles softly.

They honestly seems to be trustable people, but I still have to keep my guard around them. Can't trust a stranger can we, and on top of that if that said stranger is a devil.

"I will accept only on one condition, you can ask assistance only if the situation is dire." I proposed. "But I need to see this contract of yours."

"Very well." Rias nodded and gestures Kiba, who nodded and moved over to the desk back in the room.

"Tokyo is under whose jurisdiction?" I asked. "Lady Yasaka, the entirety of Japan falls under her rule, why?"

"My parents moved to Tokyo few days ago."

"Ah, you can rest assured. Tokyo is completely off-limit for beings like us, without permission we cannot enter that place." This does put me at ease. "Causing disturbance there will have serious consequences, not only they have to face Lady Yasaka but the rage of Shinto god's too," Rias explained.

"Then how come you have ownership over Kuoh?"

" They gave us temporary ownership, if we did something that doesn't sit well with her then we will lose ownership over this land," Rias said.

"Oh."

"Rias-Senpai." Kiba handed her a blank page with weird golden symbols drawn at the edges. I used observation on it and found nothing suspicious on it.

It's just an empty piece of paper with a very small amount of magical energy embedded in it. "This thing here is a contract, I will give you full freedom to write down your set of rules, but a little warning for you, breaking a contract in the supernatural world is considered a taboo, this one simple thing can put you behind bars & believe me you don't want to spend the rest of your life in the dungeon," Rias said with an ominous tone.

"Okay okay. Then let's put a time limit, this contract will be active for only 6 months, and here are the things I want to put on this paper. You cannot force me to do a specific task if I don't say yes to it, you are not allowed to probe into my personal life or threaten anyone associated with me, if you want to know something about me just ask directly. Next, I expect some kind of payment, I might demand money, or a vital piece of information, that's all I want to add." Rias nodded & she started to note down those on the back of that paper.

"From my side, I will keep it simple. Being associated with us you will come across a lot of vital things, you cannot disclose that information to others. Every Saturday and Sunday we spend our hours in training, you have to join us." I frowned.

"You want to scope out my overall capabilities don't you?"

"Yes, do you have any problems?" She said with a smile. This girl… I kept my silence, it was not like I have to show them everything.

"That's all." She finished and flipped the page over. She then chanted something underneath her breath and immediately words started to appear on the front page.

It states that the contract will be active for 6 months, and then starts by "I hereby… blah blah" I checked the contract again with observation and yet again found nothing suspicious.

Rias first signed her name on it and then handed me the pen, once I signed my name the page burst into golden flames.

Rias raised her right palm, there was a faint outline of a small circle with weird symbols in it. "Check your hand you will have one too." I checked my palm and there it was.

"If any one of us broke any rules, this tattoo will change to a darker shade of black & it will forever be engraved into our palm," Rias said.
