Class Change Quest

If I didn't have the system I would have listened to her explanation as my life depended on it but when I can buy spells and skills, and cast them with just a single thought, the whole damn thing becomes... kind of pointless.

I looked around and spotted Rias sitting under the shade of a tree, all alone, she seems to have the face of concern.

I approached her "You seem troubled." Rias looked at me and then shakes her head gently. She puts on a smile "It's nothing."

"Ise what do you think of my peerage? Do you think our training would bore any improvements?" She asked my opinion.

I sat by her side and decided to tell her the truth. "… You have to up the game if you want to see some results, the more tough the training is the more improvement you will see." Rias' mood seems to worsen after hearing my words.

This is the truth, though, this type of training won't do any good for them.

"Tell me what it is?" She was hiding something, something big. I can already tell by her expression, it was visible on her face.

"What's wrong?" She looked at me and then lowered her gaze at her feet before she started to speak.

"A long time ago the mystical beast, Phoenix, was looked upon by humans as a bird that governs life. It was so looked upon that it left its legend in many countries in the human world where it's told that the tears of the Phoenix can heal any wounds, and the blood that flows within its body can give eternal youth to those that drink it. But there was also another clan that is different from the mystical beast Phoenix. They are the Devils that had the rank of Marquis, and were counted as one of the "72 pillars". The "Phoenix" from the Devils' side." Rias let out a frustrated sigh.

"The humans named the Devils' Phoenix as "Phenex" to distinguish it from the mystical beast Phoenix, On my 5th Birthday, my parents arranged a marriage with Phenex Clan's Third son. Riser Phenex, the guy is a complete ass with a superiority complex, treats women like objects. I want to be with someone who will love me and cherish me as Rias without the fact that I'm a Gremory. I will die before I submit to such a bastard... if I go on to marry him my peerage will also become his personal property, now do you understand how messed up a situation I am in?"

"You are the sister of Lucifer, can't you ask him to cancel the marriage?" Rias shook her head with a sad smile.

"The reputation of the Gremory clan will be dragged through the mud if they cancel it," Rias said.

"My father will lose his face... He can't have that..."

"What a family you have, the underworld is sure a messed up place huh?" I said. "So now what? What are you going to do?"

"What about your brother... won't he do anything?"

"We devils care more about our image than anything else, Sona has an understanding sister that's how she managed to escape a fate like that but I on the other hand…" She sighed.

"He did give me a chance to change my fate by having a 'Rating again' against Riser." She said.

"Rating game... Huh?" I did see the term in the book she had provided, it's game devils play for their amusement I think.

"It's a game that is played by the devil's with a peerage, & they compete by making their servants battle" Rias explains it to me.

"But only mature aged devils can participate in official Rating game, whoever since it involves the image of Gremory household the match will be seen as an official one. But our opponent is someone whose wounds will heal right away. Their flames won't even leave a bone left. Eight wins and two losses. This is the record that Riser has at the official "Rating Game". He fought ten times and won eight matches. He lost two of the match on purpose as kindness to one of the households he is close to. In reality, he won all of his matches. He already became a candidate to obtain a title in the official game." Rias looked in the direction of Akeno and others.

"I felt something uneasy when I heard that Riser was chosen as my fiancé. Yes, I think my father and the others chose him in case something like this were to happen. They chose Riser so I will have no choice but to marry him. Even if it becomes a match between households, they knew that there was no way for me to win. You are strong that's why I want you to join my peerage maybe with you by my side I would have at least won the game, but I also respect your decision, if I was in your place I would have done the same thing when I was younger my views on underworld were positive and favorable, but as I grew and slowly learned the ways it works I started to hate it. The devil's society is filled with old pricks, if you don't have a powerful backing or you lack strength you can't even dream there, the only time I can honestly enjoy my life as myself is when I'm in the human world." She said with a distant look.

"Do your peerage know about this?"

"Only Akeno knows about this engagement." I sighed and finally gave my thoughts after hearing all this.

"As of right now your peerage has no chances of winning against someone like that, they lack real experience, with this little group of people you cannot win this match." Rias gave all her attention.

"How much time do you have in your hand?"

"A month."

"Then you better start training your arse off if you don't want to become a fuck doll of a prick. Keep that in your mind as motivation, now look at them and tell me the truth, can four people defeat this Riser?" Rias shook her head.

"Then stop drowning yourself In self-pity, it won't get you anywhere. A month might not be enough but hey it is what is, how powerful is your healing ability?"

"We devil heals faster than humans, but we can also heal wounds overnight if we share our demonic power, for that we need skin to skin contact."

"I can help you with that, but my services won't come cheap." Some may think me of as a selfless person who was taking advantage of her situation, but I ain't handing those potions free of cost.

I took a mythical healing potion and mana potion out of my inventory, & placed them before her. "This golden liquid can heal your injuries instantly, even your lost limbs with the exception of head & this here replenish 40% of your lost magical energy, but the materials used to concoct these two miraculous things don't come cheap." Rias stares at the two vials in wonder.

"70,000 dollars per bottle, but I will lower it to 68 k." I proposed. "And if you have doubts ask Saeko she drank one of them."

"Deal, it's 2 times cheaper than Phenex tears," Rias said. "Issei, who are you really? How did you..." I cut her off.

"However, don't ask me anything." Rias sighed.

"Okay, I won't force you... how many can you provide?" She breathed.

"20 batches of healing and 20 of mana potions." Per mythical costs 10k gold, which means I have to spend 400k worth of gold points to buy these items.

"I will take all, do you have a bank account? I will have the money transferred to your account by today." You sure are rich huh.

"I actually don't have one."

"Oh… I can make a fake account for you and transfer the amount there."

"That would be a great help for me." We then discussed some other matters related to training, she asked me ways to improve her group prowess, honestly, with such minuscule time in hand it will be hard to defeat her opponent, but it's not impossible.

Rias went on to offer 50K more to ask for my services, & I took it. Because not only she is providing me money but also a month's break from the academy life without any difficulties in my academics record.

"Now I must be going, I will have all the items ready by tomorrow." Rias thanked me & summoned a teleportation circle.

"I Think This Is The Beginning Of A Beautiful Friendship." She said with a genuinely happy smile. "I hope so, and please keep your mouth shut about this."

"You don't have to tell me that, Issei, I want to hold on to you as long as I can," Rias said before her face went completely Red.

"Not like that! I didn't mean it that way…" Rias stuttered with a red face. "...As long as I can, heh~" I repeated to make certain that she suffered a second embarrassment. Seeing her all flustered is a sight to behold.

"Please stop teasing me." She pouted like a little child, this amusing side of her made me change my opinion on the devil kind, at least the race has people like this.

I stepped on the circle and after that Rias teleported me back to the Occult Research Club. Then I went directly back to my home, I have a total of 8 random boxes in my inventory.

With my finger crossed I ordered the system to open up all the eight boxes, I got a total of 4 items from them, 40 stats points, one full recovery, a shield, and something called Class change quest.

Obviously, the last one is the main subject of interest amongst the bunch.

If I remember correctly classes are like occupations in D&D games, for examples Mage, Assassin, Swordsman, Tanker, Archer, or Healer. This is certainly a very good reward but there is something that is bothering me… is this.

Nah, let me make some preparations first, I should be ready for any unexpected events. I went to look for any skills/spells in the shop, my prime target was something that would heal my HP much faster than that uncommon healing spell, coupled with that I am also looking for something that would replenish my mana.

I picked out the most expensive skills in the epic rarity section, the first one is called "Blessing of Titania" it doesn't consume mana points, the skill has a Cooldown time, and you have to wait 40 seconds before you can use it again.

Heals 2000 HP upon activation of the skill.

Cooldown: 40 seconds.

The last skill is called Mana Rotation, I will be able to continuously absorb mana from the atmosphere while moving or in combat, it's a passive skill which is a plus in my book, the skill kicks in when my MP goes below 60%.

Required mana to activate: None.

This would make my life more flexible but the price is absurd 250k for each is way too overpriced, but it is what is, to gain something you need to lose something.
