76 Chapter 76

Three years before Damian had met Rias once more, the Mad Dog had visited China and caused quite a ruckus. His battle with Yan Qing to earn his loyalty resulted in a large amount of destruction which inevitably caught the eyes of the gods.

"A devil acting so boldly in my territory? How amusing!" The Jade Emperor spoke while twirling his long white beard, a wide grin filled with childish glee splitting his face. Unlike most gods, his face was wrinkled, and his hair was as white as snow by his own design.

To a certain extent, all gods could alter their physical form. In the future, Damian would learn this is because of the intrinsic connection between their body and soul being closer than the average devils but as of now he did not know.

"I won't apologize. Just because you rule over the land doesn't mean you can imprison me like this." Damian replied lazily, slightly shaking the jade chains holding his palms together as if in showing off the diplomatic issue in the making.

"Haha! None in a millennia have dared to act so rudely with me! You do not fear death! Is it folly or confidence?" Stroking his beard the Jade Emperor looked at him in infinite amusement, his eyes full of joy.

Ranked 3rd on the Top Ten Strongest, reigning as the Supreme Deity of China, and the man who with nearly as many titles as Shiva himself the Jade Emperor was not somebody to be ignored, even for Damian.

"It's arrogance." Damian retorted uncaring, the chains falling to a heap around his feet, a soft pink glow surrounding them. The Mad Dog of the Devils was arrogant, it was an easy concept to believe but the Jade Emperor doubted it.

"Then let us see. Come, let us do battle. Should you win-" Calmly rising the Jade Emperor was nearly late in blocking the fist that had nearly struck him in the skull, the wind created by the blow ravaging his halls.

Grasping the elderly god by the wrist something cool washed over the god as his mind momentarily faltered. Yet with a boisterous laugh, he released his energy, the cool sensation escaping him alongside his energy.

"Haha! What an impatient brat!" Cackling the Jade Emperor's form grew, his beard turning a dazzling shade of jade as his wrinkles vanished in their entirety. He carried a sword as large as himself in one hand as thick armor covered his divine flesh.

Swinging his large sword reality seemed to bend around the blade, gravity itself pulling Damian into its path no matter how he tried to dodge. Abandoning any thoughts of dodging the Mad Dog raised a palm, thick pink mist surrounding him as his soul revealed its fangs.

Catching the blade with ease Damian thrust his palm forward, his strike enhanced with infinite energy harmlessly bouncing off the armor. Laughing once more the Jade Emperor's sword danced through the air, thousands of flashes of silver and pink covering the sky in an instant.

The hall was immediately atomized from their strikes, not so much as dust emerging from the desolate field. With their clash no longer restricted they moved freely, their weapons destroying countless buildings and shattering entire miniature realities.

"What an impressive young one! To fight me so evenly!" Shouting like a child meeting Santa, the Jade Emperor's form was once more encased in a jade aura, his very existence being strengthened in this brief moment.

Forcing his way into the domain the Jade Emperor was hardly surprised to see his opponent easily keep up with his moves even in the distorted world. Clashing endlessly, their once even battle had finally begun to change, the scales firmly tilting toward one side.

Blood began leaking from Damian's palm, his hand no longer capable of effortlessly blocking the extremely dangerous blade. His wounds healed and returned in an endless cycle from the infinite energy surging through his body but he was losing.

"Entertain me more brat!" Demanding the teen to continue he was met not with a clash but rather a firm strike to the chest, an outline of a crown atop the boy's head as his pink energy was tinted black.

Flashing forward black tendrils of lightning danced around him as Damian quite literally hurtled through space, appearing behind the Jade Emperor with his fist firmly striking his armored chest in an instant.

The powerful strike sent the Jade Emperor flying, his form burying itself deep into the core of a mountain. Pink energy flowed through the area as a pink wall created with more energy than the very gods behind it had formed an indestructible barrier around the mountain range.

"Don't die." Damian demanded of the god, infinite energy condensed infinitely held above the tips of his fingers. It was small, no larger than a water droplet, yet its mere existence tore Damian's flesh that had blocked the Jade Emperor with ease.

Shooting the pink ball forward it moved faster than light, space and time bending all around it as the ball of infinity manifested struck the mountain. The resulting explosion sent even Damian flying backward, his flesh burned and badly damaged and his clothes nothing more than tatters.

The blow had the power of a supernova, the brief explosion containing enough power to destroy the very reality they lived in. And yet, floating in the empty expanse of space the Jade Emperor was practically unharmed.

"Haha! Who knew my greatest battle in thousands of years would come from a bat not even two decades old!" Speaking like a jovial old man the Jade Emperor wiped away the blood leaking from his nose, completely disregarding his armor crumbling to pieces.

"Isn't this enough? Stop here or one of us will die." Speaking in his usual cold tone Damian's eyes were empty. Compared to his excited and optimistic opponent he was cold and unfeeling, like a machine. At least he thought he was.

"So you wish to survive." Speaking calmly the Jade Emperor disregarded his opponent's shock and raised his blade. "Come! This battle will only end once I am satisfied!"
