DxD | Child of Ira

Reincarnation was a treasured dream for many people and I had been lucky enough to receive it. I was granted a wonderful family, plenty of wealth, and the blessing of magic but everything came at a cost. In this case, it was the intrinsic danger of the world where gods roamed freely and myth was merely a forgotten truth. I had been reborn in Highschool DxD. **** If you enjoy my work you can support me on patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 12 chapters ahead.

Chapter 106

"This doesn't seem very fair." Whining loudly Aika couldn't help but furrow her brow at the numerous opponents sent their way. Yes they were weaker than most of the other guys and the difficulty wasn't overly high but there were still five of them!

"Mhm! Luckily for them they won't have time to think about the injustice." Holding a finger to her cheek and speaking cute words with a horrific smile Lavinia Reni, the user of the Longinus Absolute Demise, was very intent on murdering their opponents.

"That's not what she… never mind." Turning away from her intense glare Hakuji sighed and returned his attention to their five opponents. As the personification of various areas of Hades' domain, their opponents were quite powerful.

"You. Three. Are. Too. Talkative." The aspect of frost Cocytus declared from behind them, his large halberd like ice conjuration dropped from the sky onto them like a falling meteor. He was an insect-like creature with four arms and standing at nearly seven feet.

"Maybe you should listen to yourself. A sneak attack is only worth something if it's sneaky." Half taunting half advising his opponent Hakuji smiled wryly as he punched away the halberd with relative ease.

The singular strike had cut almost knee deep into his forearm and froze the flesh everywhere it went. For a moment Hakuji looked at his arm expectantly, waving the numb limb around as if to wake it up.

"My. Attacks. Are. At. Absolute. Zero. Your. Regeneration. Won't. Help. You." The cold and slovenly tone of Cocytus was tainted with confidence as he swung his spear horizontally to his side, a wave of frost and snow thickly coating the surroundings.

"There we go. Sorry, but I'm not your average immortal." Hakuji declared smugly, purposefully swinging his undamaged arm in front of him to taunt the humanoid insect. Hakuji was in tip top performance today and he'd come out on top for that sweet reward at the end!

"Don't take us as weaklings, bat!" The aspect of death Acheron shouted angrily as he shot forward, the scythe in his hand cutting toward Hakuji's midsection with unerring accuracy. It would be a simple matter to dodge it but even that wasn't necessary.

"Did you already forget about little old me?" With fake compassion, Lavinia waved her hand, and dozens of ice pillars rose from the ambient water molecules toward Acheron. Three pillars of ice manifested into reality, one blocking his attack while the other two struck his form.

"We aren't side characters today!" Shouting in pure excitement Aika wagged her fingers like she was pulling in a puppet's strings, the momentarily prone form of Acheron shooting forward into Lavinia's awaiting embrace.

Manifesting fully behind Lavinia, her Longinus, a large doll made of pure ice, eagerly extended her arms to her side. Ice rose from the earth below, descended from the top of Hades' domain, and approached from all sides. It was a cage of pure ice that manifested into reality.

"Good luck~!" Wishing her two allies well Aika's body shimmered out of existence as though she was a mirage. Nodding their heads in response both Hakuji and Lavinia calmly took in their opponent's bent's form.

The plan made by Damian and fixed by Aguero was simple, they would divide and conquer. It was a strategy born from their strengths and weaknesses compared to their opponents' same traits. It was a plan with a nearly hundred percent chance to succeed!

But that was only the start. Hakuji was on fire today, there was no way he would lose. Not with that tantalizing reward waiting for him. Not with his savior's honor on the line. Not with so much at stake. He wouldn't lose. It just wasn't possible.

"Oops." Watching the flaming fist inch closer to him Hakuji felt time slow as he began to enter the domain but it wasn't enough, his head popping like a balloon from the strike of Phlegethon, the aspect of fire.

"Even if you can regenerate from that you won't be able to move. Your carelessness has cost you." Condescendingly speaking to the headless body, flesh fighting against the cauterized wound, Phlegethon was caught unprepared for the headless body's follow up strike.

It came swiftly and carried the power to shatter mountains. Stomping his feet into the air a wave of pressure emanated from the headless body as a snowflake like pattern appeared beneath his feet.

"The witch hasn't left?" Muttering to himself with wide eyes Phlegethon looked at the blood that had stained his thumb. The strike had crushed his nose, the first wound inflicted upon him in centuries. It was given to him by a mere bat, a servant at that.

Following Phlegethon's own logic Hajuki's body took advantage of the moment of weakness to shoot forward, the air rippling almost like it was afraid. Soaring through the air Hakuji's fist crashed into an immovable object, ice crawling up his skin.

"Don't. Let. Your. Guard. Down. Phlegethon." Grunting strenuously, Cocytus pushed Hakuji away just in time for the devil's head to regrow entirely. The five aspects of Hades didn't often bleed so his shock was understandable but not desirable.

"Yes, calm yourself, brother." The aspect of memories Lethe spoke calmly with a melodic tone, a sly smirk on her face as she gazed at Hakuji's form. Raising a hand a card manifested in her grasp, a glorious black sun burning brightly on the front. "𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵. 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭."

A hazy look washed over Hakuji's eyes for just a moment before clarity returned to them but something was different. Each aspect had a power from birth such as Cocytus' ice or Phlethegon's flames. Lethe wasn't the most offensively focused but her power over memories was certainly the most cruel.

"He's forgotten. Move forward my—" The confident smirk on Lethe's face was wiped away as her beautiful face caved in, her teeth flying into the air alongside abundant blood and spittle. It was an inelegant grunt that awoke her siblings as she fell to the ground unconscious or dead.

"Don't get cocky wench! I'll never forget my King or my Sun! I could never forget after I was promised a date once I got back!" Shouting with a wide grin, Hakuji firmly planted his feet into the air as he got into a stance once more.

Cold and heat emanated from Cocytus and Phlegethon in warning, their dark eyes promising pain to Hakuji as they readied their weapons. To call them siblings was incorrect but they saw themselves as such regardless. And yet one of their siblings had been killed.

"You. Will. Die." Speaking for both of them, Cocytus' vow marked the true start of the battle."
