Chapter 1 How it began

It was a day like any other the sun was shining, people was walking on the street, cars were streaming by and I...was at my dead end job waiting tables at a restaurant. It was the same boring routine wake up 5am, brush my teeth, take a bath, get dressed and try to reach work before 8:30. It wasn't the most glamorous of jobs but it paid the bills.

Anyway, that was how the day started until things got weird.

Around midday when the sun was supposed to be at it's hottest and brightest the place suddenly felt cold and sky became as black as night. As expected people stopped and stared at the sky, at first we thought it was an eclipse but I knew the place wasn't supposed to feel this cold and I shouldn't be able to stare right at it without protection. Suddenly something felt wrong, very wrong, looking around I saw a black mist like substance seep from the ground slowly getting thicker and more visible and so I did the only thing I could think of.....I ran.

I ran into the store and closed the door as I watched the mist continue to seep from the ground and more people started to notice.

Then chaos.

Everyone tried their best to escape the mist as if they could sense it's evil, sinister intent but only ended tripping over each other and fall to the ground. A few people rushed towards the cafe in hoping to escape the impending disaster and of course like a decent human being I opened the door and let them in.

Soon the black mist permeated the air turning the world slightly black adding to the sinister atmosphere. Seeing the mist becoming more apparent we locked the door and the despairing souls outside banged on the door shouting for us to open it but we could only helplessly watch as they slowly became motionless and fell to the ground.

Silence.

Before we could wipe the cold sweat from our brows everyone outside screamed like they were being incinerated by hellfire forming an orchestra of dread. The sound of cracking bones and skin being torn, left little to imagination as we covered our ears trying to block out the sinister symphony. And then silence once again. And this time no one dared to let there guards down as they looked around for any signs. And then someone screamed and we looked in her direction and we saw something that chilled us to our very cores. Black mist was slowly seeping through the cracks and small openings in the cafe as if to mock our futile effort to hide from it. And then there was no then, the black mist entered the cafe covering everyone in it's sinister aura. The black mist seeped through every opening it could find on my body as it entered every cell in my body corrupting my very essence.

Then my body started break apart and reform itself as it bent to black mist's sinister will but my mind remained unbroken as I refused to give in to this sinister invader. And I was only rewarded more pain for my defiance. Suddenly the pain stopped and my body ached, I don't know how long I have been going through that torturous cycles but somehow I knew it was finished and with that I allowed my self to lose conciousness.
