[Starting Split]

I stare up at the large golden gates before me, engraved along the top is what looks like feathers, each inlayed with gems who are probably worth enough to make even the most wealthy of men sweat.

"That's solid gold, hn?" I hum as I blink at the gate.

"It appears to be, my lord." The maid behind me states.

"Should I knock it down?" The second girl behind me grins, a vicious smile, her teeth angular and shark-like.

I look to the girl, my new bishop.

She is fairly tall and muscular for a bishop, she has abs and biceps, but a fairly large bust.

She has long brown hair, tan skin, and red-ish orange eyes that look as if they are crackling like embers.

She wears a large floppy grey wizard hat, and a simple black and grey overcoat that hangs loosely around her shoulders that looks slightly charred and ashy, underneath that she wears a black leotard with grey accents.

She looks quite a bit like Mona from genshin impact, now that I think about it, outfit wise. Just with a heavy coat.

Her name is Tyra, and as previously stated, she's my bishop... my new bishop...

For all of one week... and in said week, I have realized just how much of a monster I created.

"Fangs." I state.

The bishop girl blinks slowly, most of her teeth flattening, leaving only the canines as jagged and sharp.

"Knock it down?" She asks again.

"No." I state with a small head shake. "Even with how much of a gross display of wealth it is, I'd rather not be indebted in any way."

Tyra is already an ultimate class being despite only being a devil for a week and a half.

Maybe ultimate class is a bit of a stretch, but her energy reserves is roughly that level. She lacks experience, is unused to her new body, and is about as untamed as a feral animal.

Maybe it's because she was one up until about six days ago.

That's right. I made her with summoning magic, put an evil piece in her, named her, then bought a one time use item of 'Awaken Animal'.

Why Tyra?

I'm not very original.

Tyra for Tyrant... as in Tyrant Lizard.

The remaining six days was her figuring out the alternate form I purchased in the shop for her, and it was also spent figuring out demonic magic... which is where she really shines.

Demonic magic has a caster level depending upon the user's level... and for a T-Rex who has eighteen hit die before awaken animal and twenty after? Caster level twenty.

She mostly uses her demonic power to breath fire and explode stuff, but theoretically she should be able to cast time stop... she seems to be a strange mix of Dungeons and dragons with DXD. She has the absolutely massive demonic energy like the system said she should, but she can't cast spells like I can... she can only do basic devil manipulation, which I suppose gives her more control, but eh, I sort of wanted a time stopping t-rex which could cast multiple instant death spells basically at will.

The remaining time when I wasn't hovering around Tyra- and by extension Virgo but to a lesser extent as she already sort of understood demonic magic- was spent making weapons, and figuring out new spells.

I sold the other Hrunting and all of my other stuff, and it made me think... I got really lucky with Virgo. Like, holy shit.

The Hrunting remake sold for fifteen thousand electrum... which gave me just under four thousand after the store took its ten percent cut.

The fact I got Virgo for a measly eight thousand electrum is both incredibly lucky, and incredibly unlucky.

Unlucky because due to the fact that this isn't the fairy tail universe, she's a one-time summon and will die horribly after a month or two. I would have basically gotten scammed.

It's lucky, on the other hand, because I was in a position to relieve her of her celestial spirit world reliant mortality.

If I wasn't a devil with evil pieces she'd be fucked.

But I am, that's why it's lucky.

The other weapons sold for anywhere from two thousand electrum for the ones with niche-but fairly powerful- effects, and the ones with less restrictive typically went for three thousand to six thousand.

All in all, after all of my purchases, I'm left with about two thousand electrum.

Modifying spells is seriously expensive. More than half of my electrum went to modifying THREE spells.

They are horrifyingly powerful, mind you, but still, THREE!

I have a couple of other ones that are slightly altered, but the big three cost the most.

"Excuse me sir." A woman states as she walks up to the gate. "May I help you?"

"I'm here to see lord Phenex."

"Do you have a reservation?" The maid asks.

"Believe me, he'll make time." I state as I wave a hand in the air in front of me.

Several magical locks slam open as the golden gate rockets open.

I place my hands in my pocket and walk forwards, the maid's eyes widen briefly before narrowing. "Sir. If you step onto the premises. I will be forced to stop you."

"No... you'll be forced to take a nap." I state as I walk slowly past the threshold.

The maid abruptly lunges forwards, but she doesn't make it twenty feet before she falls forwards and slides to a halt, unconscious.

The two women behind me meet my slow pace towards the large mansion on the hill in the far distance.

Pov: Elsewhere.

A black haired woman lets out an annoyed sigh as she scratches her temple.

Deciding who gets a fertility potion has been... annoying.

The Astaroth's got one so they can replace their traitorous heir that Gaius killed.

Another good pick would be the Phenex family so they can make even more phoenix tears... but uh... somehow, she doesn't think that'd go so well seeing as how the little adorable brat is on a war path.

The Gremory's maybe? perhaps her parents so she can get ANOTHER adorable little So-tan or MALE So-tan?!

There are quite a few people the remaining twelve potions can go.

Her eyebrow twitches slightly, her familiar notifying her of something.

'oh great.' She silently wonders 'what is he doing n-'

He's calmly marching his way to the Phenex estate... leaving a swathe of unconscious guards in his wake.

Oh fuck.

[Split]

"Kill him!"

I tilt my head out of the way of a small ball of fire as I gaze up to a large mansion before me.

A hail of magical attacks rush for us from the guards swarming like angry bees.

The hat-wearing girl behind me swipes a hand in front of her, snuffing out every single attack in an instant.

The platoon of guards around us begin dropping like flies, wings falling limp as they crash to the large elaborate garden below.

I calmly make my way to the door, and with a wave of my hand, it opens.

A butler with a sword lunges out, heading directly for me-

Virgo's hand clamps around the blade, stopping it inches from my torso.

With a twist of her hand the blade snaps, and as Tyra holds up a hand, he is launched backwards by an unseen force, crashing roughly on the other side of the foyer.

I step inside as I cast a slow look around, a woman in a vibrant red dress is starting at the door, eyes wide, she is sat at a small table and looks to be having a tea party with a small drill-haired blonde girl in a purple dress with some feathery accents.

'is that-'

The sudden rage that fills my body confirms my suspicions.

"Ah... if it isn't Rosaline." I state with a bright smile. "How delightfully-

My smile falls into a frown as I glare at the woman. "Sickening... to see you again."

She protectively holds a hand a hand in front of the small girl. "Who are you? What do you want?"

"Who am I? What do I want?" I echo. "Are you seriously telling me that YOU don't even remember your own damned fiancé?"

"Fiance?" She whispers, eyes growing wide as she observes me with more scrutiny.

"I have given that coward you call an elder brother nearly two years to reach out to me, but still hasn't... and frankly, I'm tired. I'm tired of being looked down on by you people."

"I don't have time for you." I scoff. "Point me in the direction of lord Phenex or I'll be forced to find him myself."

Several figures land in between us, butlers and maids, a few wielding weapons, others creating magic circles.

Ah. If it isn't lord Phenex's peerage.

"You will leave the estate, or you will die." One of the butlers state.

"No. I don't think I will." I state with a small smirk.

I calmly walk forwards, trailing along the outside of the room.

The same man appears next to me, a vicious looking dagger in hand.

Everything slows down as my eyes slide over to the knight, he barely inches forwards as his dagger slowly arcs downwards.

I reach out and grab his face. Then in the next moment, three punches crash into his torso, lurching him backwards.

I let go of his face and watch as he drifts back slowly for a moment, then rockets into- and through- the far wall as I brush off my hand on my shirt.

Virgo swiftly slams two devils into the floor as Tyra is moving in between three with a mad cackle.

With a swipe of her hand, an invisible barrier springs to life and smashes into the three, knocking them flat.

"We don't have time for this." I state as I wave a hand.

A massive magic circle appears on the floor, sprouting from it is something that is humanoid, yet being bipedal and having apposable thumbs is where the similarities end.

It has blue skin, digitigrade legs with four clawed toes that would look more at home on some form of therapod dinosaur, it has a long whip like tail absolutely covered in spikes... much like the rest of its body.

It had dozens of large spikes on its elbows and down its back, its head is... strange... it has many spikes on it, but they look strangely like... hair? making it look like it just came out of dragon ball z, it has a long face with a pointed chin, two long ears flow with the spikes, each coming to a single point, like elf ears.

Its toothy smile promises pain, its maw is absolutely full of sharp jagged teeth, and its yellow glowing eyes burn with barely restrained fury.

Hamatula... otherwise known as the 'Barbed Devil'.

It sneers down at the several weakened high class devils around us.

"Hamatula." I command.

His eyes slide over and lock with mine.

"Stop them from following us. No killing or maiming."

His feral smile falls slightly as it turns and glares at the devil, letting out an annoyed huff.

Tyra and Virgo swiftly walk up to me as I turn and looks around slowly.

'If I was lord of the Phenex house... where would I be.'

I turn and walk down the first hallway I see. "Fuck it."

[Split]

Pov: Elsewhere.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Oh dear. This is probably going to be really bad. He's going to die and then the devil race is going to die.

A certain devil swiftly flies over dozens of unconscious guards, the grounds surrounding them seem eerily unharmed, the only sign that anything took place being the massive hordes of unconscious bodies in clumps around the lawn.

At least they aren't dead... the fact that little Gaius isn't completely insane is a silver lining.

She lands at the front door, hung off the hinges, her eyes widen to see four servants combatting a large spikey... thing...

It is toying with them.

Lord Phenex's peerage, all high-class devils in their own rights, are being toyed with.

The things long whip like tail lazily swats a dagger away as a fireball washes over its skin, leaving its flesh unmarred as if it didn't even get hit at all.

It lets out a huff of annoyance as a deep monstrous voice echoes out. "Normally I would rend you limb from limb, but by my master's orders I am to leave you unkilled and unmaimed. Disappointing."

Spells wink out of existence with mere contact upon its skin, elemental spells that stick deal no damage, and even the bladed attacks and punches from its foes barely leave any lasting wounds.

"Hn?" It hums as it turns its head, glaring right for the magical girl.

A blade bounces off its numerous spines as its eyes narrow.

"A new challenger-" it cuts off and sucks in a breath as a blade slashes across its ribs, it whirls around and grabs the offending devil by the neck. "My master said you were to remain unmaimed and alive. He didn't say anything about me not pounding your pathetic existence to a pulp!"

The magical girl snaps out of her daze, the beast is suddenly trapped in a block of ice, causing it to drop the devil.

It's just another summoned creature, but he gave it intellect and speech. She'll have to tell Ajuka about that, he's made some progress with his own brand of summoning, but nothing like that.

"Lady Leviathan!" The servants gawk as they all kneel. "What brings you to-"

The magical girl suddenly turns and disappears down the hallway.

Pov: Returned.

'All righty, looks like this is the place, I can sense two powerful devils within, let's just open this door.'

I kick the lock on the door, flinging the door open with a shower of wood chips.

Two men on the other side swiftly glare to the door.

The first, is blond with blue eyes, he has pale skin and wears a vibrantly colored, poofy nobleman's outfit.

The second is a man with long red hair, blue eyes, some reddish stubble, and a far more tame white and yellow suit.

"Oh." I state. "Lord Gremory. I didn't expect you to be here. I apologize for interrupting your meeting with this coward, yet I had something that couldn't be put off further."

"Who do you think you are, boy?" The blond man snarls as he gets to his feet behind his desk.

"I am someone who can single handedly ruin you, lord Phenex... what I want to know is who do you think YOU are." I scoff as I slowly walk forwards, pausing a short distance away as I cross my arms in front of my chest. "My name is Gaius Dacarabia. I wanted to see the arrogant fool who had the gall to ignore my many messages, up close and personal."

"What sort of delusions do you have?" The Phenex growls as a flickering fire appears in his hand.

I tilt my head back. "For someone with a second-rate clan trait, you are awfully arrogant. I was originally going to sort this out like a gentleman, come to a peaceful agreement. But to force me to come all this way?"

With a swipe of my hand, moments before the fireball is shot, it is snuffed out. "I ask you, lord Phenex, do you honestly so much ego, that'd you'd freely marry another man's betrothed? Expecting no repercussions at all?"

His eyebrow twitches. "You have some nerve, brat-"

"I should be the one to say that to you. Rosaline Phenex is my Fiancée... in fact, she still is as of this very second. I trust you understand the consequences of that?"

"Ridiculous." The man scoffs, fingers digging into his desk. "I remember you now, trash. I canceled that contract centuries ago."

"Well, that's where you are wrong... you attempted to cancel it, sure, but due to a small quirk in devil law, that attempt was rendered null and void. According to the Devil Dispute Arc of the fifteenth century, section eight, and I quote. 'Any and all engagements must be mutually disbanded. In the case of one of the deaths of one of the people to be engaged, at the very least a death in a very ambiguous way, the other engage-ee must wait six months to truly determine if their betrothed is truly deceased'. End quote."

"Due to your actions, being so swift after my disappearance, you broke this section of the law. And seeing as how you immediately married, you never attempted to cancel it again... even if you tried to do so now, reasonably, that would not work due to a small quirk of marriage contracts that I'm sure everyone in this room is aware of. They can only be disbanded through the mutual agreement of the two engage-ees, and while nowadays, typically, the family could get you out of it, had they gotten you into it, this was an old, archaic, contract... the only way for our engagement to be broken off as of now, is if I willingly accept it to be broken... or should she defeat me in a duel."

"And let's just say, because of recent events I am not all too inclined on releasing the contract. perhaps with some compensation my iron grip may be loosened, but who knows?"

The man is silent for a moment. "The way I see it, is a little upstart nothing broke into my home, murdered my servants, and attacked me. Isn't it only right that I fell you in self-defense? Don't you think, Zeoctus."

The red-haired man who had been mostly silent this entire time glances over to me and gives me a small smile. "I do not believe you could do it."

"He's right." I nod. "It's extremely bold to assume you could kill me, and secondly... I know something you don't!"

I smile brightly as I hear a loud crash behind me, Tyra letting out an irritated shout while Virgo lets out a quiet moan.

a magical girl burst into the room.

I turn to glance at her. "Ah, Lady Leviathan, I was expecting-"

"Aghl-" my statement turns into a slight gurgle as she flicks my forehead, snapping my head back.
