[Starting Split]

"So, Le Fay, do you and Meredith still want to join my peerage?" I ask the witch hat wearing girl and the brown-haired girl with braided hair.

"Well." The descendant of Arthur mutters as she tilts her head. "Yeah."

"What she said." Meredith agrees.

"Oh good. Wanna reincarnate, then?"

"But I though you said that you weren't going to because of my family?" Le Fay questions.

"I gave your family some artifacts your ancestor had in exchange for you to join my peerage."

"Huh?" The girl blinks.

"I gave them Arthur's knife, Arthur's shield, and His Spear. Each of them with frankly ridiculous names. Arthur contacted them, and he gave me the 'okay'."

"Oh! I've read about those in our family's library!" The girl exclaims with a grin only to pause. "I... also read that they are each incredibly powerful... you gave up all three... for me?"

"Yep." I nod. "Your experience in attack magic will round out my peerage nicely."

I look to Meredith. "And your sacred gear and defensive magic will make you invaluable to our group."

I scratch the back of my head. "I'm going to be honest... we don't exactly have many mages in my peerage. Ravel's probably the closest we've got for magical offense besides myself and she's more of our strategist than someone who gets into combat."

Mental note, try to get her out of that mindset.

"Oh. Okay!" Le fay grins. "Can we do it now?"

"If that's what you want." With a flash a crystal chess set appears between me and the two girls. It is missing several pieces.

I lift up a single pawn and point it towards Le Fay.

The piece glows brightly as I give her a slightly challenging smile. "Are you sure you want to do this? This is your last chance to back out."

"I'm sure." She nods resolutely, her eyes are glued to the pawn piece.

"Very well." I nod as I press the tip of the chess piece against her chest, it passes through her clothes and sinks into her skin, she looks down as nothing seems to happen.

"Is... that it?" She quietly wonders as she looks down at her chest.

"Yep. Most of the time the people who these get used on are dead or dying, they typically are unconscious through the fairly boring transformation process so it seems more jarring for them, with the whole waking up and being a completely different race."

"if I had to explain it... I would call evil pieces a virus... as you are now you are like... less than one percent devil. But over the next hour or so, your cells will be 'Infected' and you'll swiftly turn into a devil."

"Oh! That's interesting!" She grins as she looks to her hands. "So what's it feel like to be a devil?"

"You'll be stronger, faster, more durable. You may experience a little disorientated as you get used to your new senses as well. You'll be able to hear a conversation across the room as if it were happening right in front of you."

I look to Meredith and pull out another pawn. "You may also feel some slight discomfort as your wings form and your devil magic container is created."

"How much discomfort?" Le Fay frowns.

"Uh... you ever stub your toe before?"

"Yeah. Who hasn't?" She questions.

"The amount of discomfort is comparable to the pain you'd feel while walking after stubbing your toe."

"Oh. So not that bad." She states. "but annoying?"

"That's how I've heard it described, yes." I nod.

I point the pawn towards Meredith. "Are you ready?"

"Yeah." She nods.

The piece gains a dull glow, not as much as it was glowing for Le Fay, but enough to show that it is possible to reincarnate the girl before me... just not with that number of pieces.

"Right. A sacred gear wielder." I note as I look to the chess board and grab three more pawns, I turn back to Meredith, holding them out towards her, getting basically the same reaction.

"Not even four will do it?" I mutter under my breath.

"What's wrong?" Le Fay asks.

"Evil pieces have quite a few neat things about them. The first is called mutation pieces. These mutant pieces have the strange ability to reincarnate beyond their normal capacity... say for instance you try to reincarnate someone worth four pawns, you could use a single mutated pawn instead."

I lift a final pawn and frown at the fact that this still isn't enough.

"Well. This is certainly surprising." I state as look to the final two pawns.

These look different than my other pawns. Instead of the standard see-through white crystal with gold inlays, these look as if they have a nebula caught within.

"This is a mutated pawn... worth roughly five to eight normal pawns." I announce.

Le Fay leans over and looks at the chess piece. "Pretty!"

"Anyways, another part of Evil Pieces is something called 'unused pieces'. An unused evil piece grows stronger as the devil they are bound to does. So. Let's say for instance, an inexperienced devil could have reincarnated a master magician like Le Fay for... two pawn pieces. I could do it in one."

Meredith freezes as Le Fay's eyes widen.

"Wait." The witch hat wearing girl mutters. "And Meredith is worth more than five for you?!"

"Yep." I nod. "a master of defensive and security magic, that also has a sacred gear. That normally would place you anywhere from a two to a five for me depending on your sacred gear's strength."

"Unless." I continue. "You had a Longinus."

"A Longinus." Le Fay breathes.

I point the mutated pawn towards the brown haired girl, causing it to glow brightly.

"Yep. Longinus." I state as I rub my forehead. "That's certainly lucky."

"Anyways, here's your piece." I push it against her chest, causing it to sink into her chest.

"Annnnd congratulations, you both are now devils... or will be shortly."

The girl with braided hair looks down at her hands. "Le Fay's right. I don't feel much of a change."

"it'll come. And soon you'll be able to cast spells by merely imagining them. You could probably use it to enhance your human magic quite a bit."

Le Fay lets out a low hum as she looks down to her hands.

"So, want to take a quick trip to the underworld?" I suddenly ask.

"Uh... can we come back after?" Le Fay frowns.

"Of course. I just want to get you to the underworld so you can freely teleport in between the underworld and earth because it's actually illegal for peerage members to teleport to and from the underworld without using the trains at least once."

"Really?" The girl mutters.

"Yeah, I know, it's a little strange." I agree. "But I think they use it to create a profile? Or something? But it would definitely help you two to be able to go from the underworld to the surface at will."

"Okay! Let's go!" Le Fay cheers as she hops to her feet.

"Let's tell your brother where we are going really quick. And hey! You can even meet the rest of my peerage." I smile as I stand up.

"We never did get to meet them." Meredith mutters as she looks to the chess set. "We met Ravel and Artoria, but that's it... you have three more we don't know about."

She slowly stands. "I guess we get to meet them today."

"Please follow me." I state as I slowly turn around.

The two girls follow me as we walk through the mansion.

"I think you'll like the other peerage members. Artoria is actually my most recent peerage member before you two... but despite that I've still placed her easily within my 'monster trio'

""Monster Trio?"" the two girls echo.

"Oh yeah, In my peerage currently, there are really two 'levels' of strength. The basic high class like Ravel and my queen, then the monstrously powerful ones. Of those you have my two rooks, and my bishop. All are easily ultimate class. But I'm not exactly sure which is the strongest of the three."

"If I had to guess, I'd say that Artoria is the strongest in my peerage, but I could be wrong. My other bishop trains constantly so it's either her or Artoria." I explain.

We come to the library to see Arthur calmly sipping tea while reading a book. He looks over, realization crossing his face, his calm smile falters for a moment before returning. "So, you did it?"

"Yeah." I nod.

"Gaius said the transformation may take a little while, but I'm a devil now." Le Fay states with her normal bubbly attitude.

He lets out a small sigh and gets up.

He pats Le Fay's head.

"As long as you're happy, Le Fay."

"I am! I'm gonna be so strong! Then I won't..."

She pauses suddenly, her bubbly attitude fading as she stares at the floor.

"Hold you back." She hoarsely whispers.

He hugs the small girl. "Le Fay, you never held me back. Don't ever let yourself think that."

She sniffles slightly as I uncomfortably rub the side of my head.

Arthur looks up suddenly. "Keep her safe, Gaius."

"In this world, being with me is probably one of the safest places she could be." I nod.

"…"

"…"

"That was so sappy." Meredith deadpans with a slightly impish smile.

"And now the mood is ruined." I sigh.

Le fay looks up to her brother slowly. "Gaius is going to show us the underworld really fast... then show us the rest of his peerage, we should be back soon."

She looks over her shoulder. "Uh... Gaius how long-"

"The train ride will take about two hours, then we can teleport back whenever you want. It's up to you how long you want to stay and sight-see. The underworld is strangely beautiful."

She turns back to her brother and nods. "We'll be back in four hours. Five if I find anything interesting. Maybe six if I find something Reaaaally interesting. Hn. But maybe seven if-"

"We'll be back later tonight" I declare, causing the blonde girl to nod excitedly and for Meredith to look on exasperatedly.

"See you, Arthur." I wave as I turn. "We need to catch that train. They are hourly and the next one leaves in like twenty minutes. If we miss it, we'll be stuck in the station for a while."

Le Fay gasps. "We should hurry!"

[Split]

"I'm going to get the roughest out of the bunch first." I sigh as I slowly walk through a forest, my hands in my pockets.

"Hn?" Le Fay hums.

"When you meet her. Don't look into her eyes. She takes it as a challenge. My other bishop is like a feral animal because, well, she is one."

"Huh?" Meredith blinks.

"Isn't that a little rude-" Le Fay begins.

"No, no, I mean it literally. she is a feral animal." I state over my shoulder.

*BOOM*

My hair is ruffled as a blast of wind crashes into us, a plume of smoke slowly raises in the distance.

We slowly approach the smoke to see a massive black bipedal lizard with a tree trunk in its mouth, it shakes its head violently sending wood chips flying around an absolutely massive crater.

It seemingly notices me and the two girls, causing it to slowly gaze at us.

*CRUNCH*

The tree trunk in the dinosaur's mouth splits in half as its jaws clamp shut.

Shards of wood spill from its mouth as its maw opens wide.

Its slowly turns to face us, shifting back and forth slightly as it tries to get a better look at us.

"YOU HAVE A DINOSAUR?!" Le Fay shrieks, eyes wide and filled with wonder.

A breathy snarl, sounding much like an alligator's bellow echoes from its throat as it shifts.

The blackened T-Rex with reddish eyes shrinks, hunching over as its tail steadily grows smaller and smaller. Its snout shortens, small arms twitching and shuddering as it falls onto all fours

The beast shrinks further, its snout disappears, as does its tail, scales become clothing and dark chocolatey skin, its nails shrink as it rises up into a bipedal stance.

Two burning eyes peer out from under a large floppy witch hat. "Well well. If it isn't Gaius Decarabia. What brings you to my territory?"

She approaches with a grin, showing off her maw of sharpened teeth.

"Oh, hey Tyra. I just wanted to show you my two new peerage members." I hum as I gesture to the two girls.

Her eyes trail over the two, she writes off Le Fay immediately, but her eyes linger on Meredith.

"Hn..." She lowly hums. "You smell... powerful..."

Her eyes lock with mine. "And you also smell far stronger than normal. What gives?"

"Training." I shrug.

"Oh?" The girl grins. "Wanna fight?"

"I would, but I've still got to show these two the rest of the peerage. Just wait for like... two more years, then I can officially enter rating games."

"I'll hold you to that." The dinosaur states as she turns and marches away, walking towards a large boulder.

She cocks a hand back and smashes a fist into it, causing the rock the gain a large crack throughout.

"KYAHAHAH!" She cackles as she repeatedly hammers her fists on the rock, reducing it to pebbles extremely quickly.

The two girls slowly look to me.

"Like I said." I slowly mutter. "The most chaotic of the peerage."

A magic circle appears beneath us as I raise a hand.

With a flash we teleport in front of a large mansion.

"This is the Decarabia estate. This is primarily where I stay when I'm not in Kuoh." I hum as I gesture around the large building. We approach the steps and climb up to the door.

They are opened a moment later by a pink haired maid.

"Ah, you have returned, Master. Is it punishment time?"

I look to my two pawns. "This is Virgo. She is a complete masochistic degenerate."

The woman flinches back with a blush as the two girls stare at her, Le Fay covering her mouth with a blush as Meredith gives her a deadpan glare.

"A complete and total hopeless cause." I continue.

"Hnn!" The maid blushes as she turns away.

"it's honestly pathetic. I mean, really, she's getting turned on by basic observations." I scoff over my shoulder.

"E-Embarrass me more!" She moans.

"Can you see why Artora and Ravel are the only ones you've met?" I ask with a deadpan expression.

"Er... Y-Yeah?" Le Fay meekly states.

"Anyways." I hum as I step past Virgo. "Gentle shove because she likes it."

I place a hand on Virgo's shoulder and shove her aside.

"Ahnn!" She moans.

I look over to Le Fay and Meredith. "Now we can meet my Queen."

"is she a weirdo too?" The brown haired girl asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Mnnh!"

We all ignore Virgo.

"She's actually the least... uh... strange." I explain. "You haven't met her because of other reasons. The reason you haven't met Tyra is because getting her on a train is both like pulling teeth and an incredibly dangerous thing, and the reason you haven't met Virgo is because she is a pervert."

"Nnn!"

"My queen has other... problems... and she's more or less kept here for her own safety." I continue as I step past the blushing maid pausing in the middle of a large magic circle.

The two girls pause beside me, I raise a hand, teleporting us into the basement.

I blink as I see Ravel talking to Valerie. "Oh, hey Ravel, what are you doing here?"

"Gaius!" She grins as her eyes light up, her head snaps over to look at me.

She pauses as she notices Meredith and Le Fay behind me. "Oh. Did you finally reincarnate them?"

"I did." I nod as I slowly approach Ravel and the Dhampir she is sat across from. "Valerie, this is Meredith and Le Fay, they're the new members of my peerage."

"Oh! Hello!" The Dhampir waves with a cheerful smile. "My name is Valerie Tepes!"

I feel the gazes of the two girls on the back of my head as I sit down at the table.

"Woah!" Le Fay grins. "You're a vampire?! I've never seen a vampire before!"

"I'm a Dhampir, not a Vampire." Valerie points out. "And you probably don't know much about Vampire society, but to explain simply, there are two groups, the Carmilla who are matriarchal, then the Tepes clan who are patriarchs... and for vampires, blood purity is everything. Even simple thralls are seen as better than Dhampirs... and seeing as how I am not only a Dhampir, but also a woman... the fact that I am even still alive is probably because of my sacred gear."

She scratches the back of her head shyly. "And, uh... my Sacred gear sort of... hurts my mind sometimes. It makes me... naïve... it mutes my emotions. But it is also highly dangerous in the wrong hands, that's why Gaius has kept me here."

She tilts her head slightly. "About the same as being locked in a tower in a Tepes castle, but a lot better since I can ask to leave whenever I want."

"Plus there's always the garden!" The vampiric girl hums as she gestures towards the door on the other side of the large dome-like room.

The two pawns slowly look to the door.

They slowly look back to me.

[Split]

"Arthuuuuuur!" Le Fay Cheers as she enters the library. Meredith, Ravel and I trailing quite a bit behind her. "I had the greatest day!"

"The train ride to the underworld was great! I got a window seat and the lights passing the train as it slips in between the human world and the underworld are just the prettiest! Then once we got to the underworld, it's like being in EVERY location in the world at once! There were so many cultures mashed together! It was great! Plus, I even met the rest of Gaius' peerage! Two of them were a little... weird... but Valerie was nice! Then after that we got to eat the GREATEST food I have ever tasted! Here! I even brought you some because I know you haven't eaten without me here to cook anything!"

The glasses wearing boy's head seems to be spinning at the smaller witch's tirade of word vomit.

She actually hasn't even breathed since she started.

*GASP*

Ah there it is.

She lets out a tired pant, catching her breath, then quickly pulls a large leftovers container from her hat which apparently had a dimensional storage enchantment placed upon it.

"I got you a burger, a salad with a fairly strange dressing that compliments it perfectly, oh, there's some ketchup for your burger, some fried seafood that... isn't actually seafood, and I got you some apple slices and a cake for dessert!"

"You didn't have to do this for me, Le Fay." The man sighs as he gives the girl an exasperated look.

"YES, I DID!" The girl exclaims while putting her hands on her hips. "I'm not going to let you only eat cup noodles! You DEFINITELY already ate at least one cup today! And that's one cup too many!"

Meredith, Ravel, and I share an amused look.

"Anyways." I cut in slowly. "It's late. I'll see you tomorrow, Arthur, Le Fay."

The two pendragons give me waves, one slightly calm and restrained, while the other far more hyperactive and peppy.

I look to Meredith. "I'll see you tomorrow as well, Meredith. Let's set a goal of figuring out your sacred gear, hm?"

"That sounds like a plan." She nods. "I'll see you tomorrow, Gaius."

I look to Ravel. "Well, let's go."

She smiles brightly. "Right!"
