"Monsters?! These are my friends and allies!" Adam said with rage slowly filling his eyes once again.
"That's..." Arif was at a lost of words. The occurance of human and monster coexisting is not a common thing but at the same time, it wasn't as if its new. Their whole empire, the Merowangsa Empire was built through the coexisting between goblins and their forefathers.
An indomitable dark aura seeped from the man claiming to be the boss of the monsters. Even though it happen for only a second, he clearly saw him used Holy Armour. What more amazing was that his mastery over it far surpasses his. One should know that this skill is only available to those in the paladin class and the only reason he has it while only being at the knight class was because he inherited it from his parents who were both paladins.
While the skills inherited through bloodline is always a level lower than the parent and cannot be upgraded until he reaches the rank of paladin, his parents already stood at the zenith of mastery with this skill and this his inheritance of it was no where short of almost perfect mastery. For a random man around his twenties, far much younger than him, to have a mastery of this skill that surpasses him, this was incredible!
After a moment of standstill and deep deliberation, Arif sheathed his sword and knelt, "I apologise, it would seem that we have been to hasty to act. Allow us to make it right. Neezar, revive the goblin and heal the rest".
"Are... Are you sure? To use resurrection on a goblin?" Neezar said, clearly shocked at the turn of events as well as the incredulous request from his captain.
Arif said nothing except shooting Neezar a cold glare as if telling him to hurry up and stop wasting time.
Neezar understanding the message behind the glare relented, move forwards and held his staff above the bloodied body of the dead goblin.
"Resurrection!"
Holy light concecrate the earth as heavenly chimes could be heard by all. In a moment after that, the goblin awoke, still injured, but alive once more.
"Mass Heal!"
Neezar continue immediately after resurrecting the goblin. Warm light enveloped everyone in the area, healing all the goblins and the orge back to initial vitality. Neezar's face paled as he finished his spells. Clearly casting both has drained him significantly.
Seeing that his goblins are well once more, the anger in Adam's eyes faded away. "It would seem that we too are in the wrong. Ha'kash, release them."
Immediately after that, a dark figure dashed to the front, holding a tied up Raya and Zambry in its spindly arms. Releasing the binds as soon as he reach as to let them go.
Seeing that no harm was done to his party members as well, Arif stood up with a smile and one hand forward "I am Arif, the captain of the squad. The priest beside me is Neezar, the monk is Zambry and the mage is Raya. We are hired adventurers from Ulu Sempadan who as mentioned previously, was here to investigate the apearence of a goblin dungeon. But, it is clear to me that the situation has been taken care off and the stragglers are now part of your entourage am I correct Mr... "
Adam smirked while shaking Arifs hand. "... Adam. Yes you are correct. We are now founding a new village here for my new friends, " He replied.
" Adam. That is a good name. Are you perhaps a paladin from the Elvengarde " Arif enquired.
" Why would you say that?" Adam caught off guard by the sudden guess asked in turn.
" Oh apologies then, it was just a guess. The name Adam is foreign to Merowangsa and the nearest foreign empire from here is Elvengarde. As for paladin, you used the skill Holy Armour didn't you earlier. It's a skill only available to those who are paladins! With your mastery over it, I was sure you was a paladin," Arif explained.
"Hmm would you believe me if I said I learned it as I tried to mimick you?" Adam said with a smirk.
"Mimick... Me..." Arifs eyes twitched as he heard that response.
'Surely you must be joking!'
'look, if you don't want to tell me your origins, you could have just said so! Did you really have to mock my abilities by saying you could learn what even I could not?'
" Anyways, where are my manners, come, let us sit and talk over some grub!" Adam invited as to disperse the awkward situation they currently are in with all of the goblins and orge standing there.
"Sounds good!" Arif replied as he and the rest of the party followed Adam into the largest building by the cave wall and sat down around a campfire, similar to the one Adam and his party sat while at the goblin settlement in the dungeon previously.
"As you can see, we are only a handful and there is still much work to be done before it becomes anything like a village." Adam said as they all sat down.
"Even so, its pretty impressive already given that a bunch of goblins made this" Raya replied meekly as she stared around the building.
"Surely the boss of these monsters won't invite us in and sit just for idle chatter. What is it that you want..." Zambry said, clearly still abit untrusting after what happened.
"Should I take his head?" Ha'kash said as he glared at Zambry.
"Stop, we are here as friends," Adam said as he stop Ha'kash from doing anything unsavoury.
"He is right, rein yourself in Zambry! With that said, I trust what my party member said was right, there must be a purpose for you to invite us in?" Arif said as he stared at Adam.
"There is, I am the Herald of Chaos and you have just cleared my trial. By defeating all my minions, I deem you worth of the blessing of chaos. Do you wish to accept it?" Adam said with a grin on his face.
"WHAT!" Neezar and Zambry automatically jumped backwards with weapons drawn.
"Hahahahahahaha. Do not jest of this kind of matter. We are devout followers of Alexandria and if what you say is true... We will be forced to kill you." Arif said as he stared menacingly at Adam.
"Your god has no influence here!" Adam said calmly as he continue to sit and stare at them with a smile.
"What he says is true, according to books, the moment we find out that a person is a worshiper of Chaos, our divine oath would have already driven us into berserk to kill said person, even more so if that person was the herald himself. The fact that we can remain calm and talk is proof... " Raya said calmly.
"So is this your plan demon! Cut us off from our god and kill us so we will never reach heaven?" Zambry spat.
"I have already told you. I want to offer you the blessing of chaos. With it, you can not only assimilate the current blessing you have but also blessing from all other gods making you neigh undefeatable." Adam repeated his offer.
"Besides, are you sure you want to go to this Alexandria thing? What has it ever done for you?"
"That..." Zambry stuttered.
