Recovery
After an unknown period of time.
Seraphina's eyelids fluttered gently, and she started to wake up, though her body felt heavy and weak. The first thing she noticed was the awful burning sensation in her throat, like she'd swallowed something sharp.
She winced at the discomfort, wanting to reach up and scratch at her neck, but she didn't have the energy to move.
"...phina?"
"Seraphina...?"
"Seraphina? Can you hear me?"
A voice came from nearby, it was soft and full of concern . It was a voice she knew well, one that made her feel safe. She wanted to open her eyes, to respond, but her eyelids felt like they weighed a ton, as if they were glued shut.
"Seraphina, are you awake?"
Raven's voice was clearer now, his usual calmness tinged with worry. Slowly, with great effort, she managed to open her eyes a little.
