When they reached a space some feet from Mr. Song's shop, where Kim Seijin's sleek black sedan and Eunji's flashy Lamborghini sat side by side, Seung noticed Kim Seijin's step falter. He stopped in his tracks, letting out a gentle sigh as he turned to face Seung.
"So, Lee Seung," Seijin began, his voice measured, "did you find anything in there?"
Seung's heart skipped a beat. His mind flashed back to the discovery in Jiwon's room—the same kind of book that had led him to the other dimension. He hesitated, his lips parting as if to speak, but no words came out. Kim Eunji glanced at them, clearly sensing that something important was happening, though she remained the only one in the dark.
Seung's mind raced. 'I can't tell him.' He swallowed hard, quickly nodding his head. "No, I didn't find anything," he finally said, forcing a smile that even he knew wasn't convincing.
