Skill difference

The previous day prior to the fight in the Colosseum, the king had made the decision to send Liam and Adira to battle in it.

"My Lord! But why, these are clearly spies. The Blood sisters orb even agree with it", Ezekiel was clearly unsatisfied with the results.

"I have made my decision, Ezekiel", King Ezra stood up from the throne as his job was done.

The decision the king had made did not only shock the members present in the room, it also shocked Liam and Adira themselves. Sure, fighting in a Colosseum was not a better decision in the slightest, however they got to keep their head on their bodies. Liam believed deep inside that the king would have some from of backlash from doing this, that is if they didn't die in the Colosseum. The reason as to why he did so, he didn't really know.

Liam did not have the time to focus on this pop up in his retina as he was currently fighting for his life. Few seconds after bursting the head of a Hunts Jack, the rest of the pack took an interest in him. The plan they had was clearly to take out the biggest threat first as they surrounded both him and Adira.

"Adira, you got to level up too!"

"But I don't have such physical prowess like you do, I will just get myself killed."

"Pick up a dagger now!", Liam made it seem like he didn't hear her one bit.

Looking at the ground, there was a dagger conveniently next to her. Upon picking it, she wondered what Liam had in mind. That was answered swiftly as Liam broke the back of one of these creatures with ease. Tossing the beast backwards, Liam spoke to Adira once again.

"Stab it in the head."

Adira looking at the paralyzed creature, shook in fear. It was apparent that she was terrified from the manner the dagger in her hand trembled.

"Adira, I know that you don't want to kill anything. Heck, it may even make you feel like a murderer but we have no choice. It's for our survival, it's so that we can go back home."

Resolve crawled into her the very moment she heard the word home. Stepping forward, she thrusted the dagger into the creature's head creating a pool of blood under it's head.

[Congratulations you have levelled up]

[Level 3]

[A new magic skill has been acquired]

Adira was kinda disappointed at the sight of her status window. One was originally supposed to grow higher in level when successfully killing a level 10 creature.

"Okay, let's do this!", Liam exclaimed as he charged at these beasts in front of him.

His superior speed and strength overwhelmed these creatures even with their superior numbers. This caused the people in the audience to stare in awe. Within a few seconds, each of the remaining creatures had been killed by Liam and Adira.

[Adira

[Liam

For a fight that made them kill multiple level 10 creatures, Adira and Liam didn't level up like they were supposed to. Though they knew they had to manage the level they currently had.

Witnessing the creatures, all been killed by one person with the help of another, the crowd was silent. The king with a smile stood up and congratulated the remaining survivors.

"You all did well to survive today, I congratule you on that. It seems you will leave to fight another day."

Turning his gaze to Liam and Adira, he smirked once again. "You two, that was an incredible performance. Hope you can do the same in the next game."

They didn't really take this as a compliment since they were merely trying to survive. Ezekiel who was by the king's side looked rather displeased about the whole thing. His eyes emitted negative energy which Liam noticed early on. Not wanting to pass the opportunity to annoy him, Liam smirked at him enraging him even further.

Each participant including Adira and Liam were taken back to their ceils as expected. The only notable difference for the day was the food they had been given. It was a huge upgrade over the slop they usually gave them to eat. In their minds they believed that this was the king's way of thanking them for the entertainment.

"Impressive fighting skills you showed out there, Liam. Where did you learn to fight like that?"

"Uuhh, I was home trained."

The last thing Liam wanted to say was that he learnt how to do so in the Colosseum, it would only cause much more issues for him. His class had enabled him to notice the slightest of details in a fight. One of these details was the manner in which a person usually attacked. Because the Hunts Jacks had a pattern of their own, he could easily predict their movement and cut them off.

Adira understanding his reason for doing so never questioned why he lied. The three talked for awhile before lying down to rest for the next day. While Earl slept, Adira and Liam had taken the opportunity to check up on their new magic skills.

Liam's acquired magic skill was named 'Increase', and it seemed to boost the users physical abilities a bit. He discovered that it would cost 10 Mana points to activate it each time which was a terrible thing. This meant that he would have to use them at the right moments as he could only use it once. It also seemed to last for a minute which didn't make things any better. On the other hand, Adira skill just like her class details, did not make any sense.

[Sharpen

Increases how sharp the user is by about 5%. Requires 10 Mana points to activate]

Looking at Liam at the side, she felt terrible inside. She knew this meant that she would have to depend on him more for help.
