"Just wanted to know you. You don't see people trying to kill these creatures during the night." Tim didn't take it offensively and still kept his smirk as he kept talking.
Tyler still didn't trust him but he knew he shouldn't make enemies with them. At least, he should try to befriend them so that he can solve future issues.
So, he finally changed his cold expression and said.
"Actually, I was forced here. I was just kicked out of the Trial. My name is Tyler."
Tim was now shocked by this drastic change. He didn't think too much about it. He smiled inwardly and asked.
"How about we make a bet?"
"What bet?" Tyler asked.
"If I manage to kill more creatures than you during this night, you will sell the key you got to me." Tim finally revealed his tricks. He didn't know why he revealed it so soon. But for him, it was like Tyler exactly knew what he wanted.
"Actually, I planned to auction this key." Tyler smirked and answered. Suddenly, two Gamma Creatures attacked from the side and his sword charged forward like the bolts of lightning, stabbing the neck of those creatures and slashing them afterward.
"And, I don't think you have the winning chance here."
When Tyler said that, Tim's forehead's veins popped out. What Tyler said and what it meant were completely different. Tyler wasn't talking about this challenge.
He was simply saying that if you had enough strength, you would've crossed the fifth trial of the hall by now.
But, since you didn't. You don't have the chance to win against me.
Tim understood this very clearly. But right now, he didn't let his anger consume him. He took a deep breath and said.
"Five Million! This is the amount you have never seen in your entire life. How about it? Do you agree?"
Clap! Clap!
After clapping a few times, Tyler smiled and said.
"I am not an idiot, Mr. Tim. This is the key that can take you to the Solar System Stage. If it wasn't for the fact that I need resources more than this, I wouldn't have thought about selling it."
"Out of billions of people, hundreds of millions hadn't crossed that trial. And, you want me to sell something that hundreds of millions of people couldn't cross in just five million. That's not math, Mr. Tim."
Hearing his argument, Tim got silent for a moment. He clicked on his band and typed a few words. After that, he looked at Tyler and said.
"I have spread the news that you are auctioning the key. So, shall we finish this thing quickly? I believe they will reach the other side of the portal in less than an hour."
Tyler smiled and said "Alright, now let's see who can kill the most. If you beat me on this one, I might give you a discount."
Tim chuckled and said, "I hope you won't lie about this."
The next moment, both of them charged toward the Gamma Creatures. Tyler released his Chaotic Force and infused his sword with it. He covered himself with Sword Aura and slashed his sword.
The dark purple energy came out of his sword, covered with a red sword aura. It transformed into thousand small swords as they rushed toward the dozens of Gamma Creatures.
[Thousand Qi Swords]
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
Although there were thousands of small swords, only less than fifty struck the neck and pierced through it. Most of the Gamma Creatures attacked by those swords managed to survive.
But, it didn't end there. Tyler's sword infused with dark purple energy rose. He was holding his sword hilt with both of his hands as he slashed forward.
[Gladius Formation]
When his sword fell, several energies got compressed into small swords like the fourth stance and slashed down. The immense force of his release caused those small swords to move at lightning speed.
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
Gladius Formation! It was an improved version of Gladius Unus. He learned this move during the battle as well. He only thought about it because when he previously sliced the Gamma Creature in half, he wasn't able to cut its neck.
So, he thought about controlling his attack. At first, he could only control the Chaotic Force inside his body, but by expanding his mental energy outside his body, he was able to control his Chaotic Force.
He also learned something else from this idea although he hadn't gotten a chance to do it yet.
Seeing the mass slaughter of nearly hundreds of Gamma Creatures at once, Tim's expression got serious. He finally understood why Tyler was able to cross the rank.
What he wanted to achieve all this time, Tyler had that with him all along.
Going beyond one's realm!
Among Thirteen Spiritual Young Leaders, his position is at last. It wasn't because of his talent. It was simply because of his strength. But, the lack of strength had no issues with talent.
In terms of talent, he might be in the top five. But, since he was younger than others, he was weaker as well.
'If you don't work twice as hard, practice twice as much, eat twice as much, and cultivate twice as much, you can never surpass them. If you can't go beyond ranks, you will always remain in this position.'
He still remembered his dad's words. It was still vivid in his mind. So, being able to surpass and go beyond's ranks was something important to him.
And, as he watched Tyler fight, he couldn't help but remember the following conversation with his father.
'But, dad, no matter how much I train, they will train similarly to me. We live in the same world. How can I make that difference? How can I train twice as them when we spend the same time training?'
'Tim, if you think that you are not getting extra time to train, then do it effectively. Let me give you an example. Have you ever tried training and eating at the same time?'
'Is that even possible? Are you just making things here?'
'Listen, son! There are some crazy people in this world, obsessed with what they believe in. And, for that, they can do something extraordinary. You think eating and training at the same time is impossible but what if you go out in the forest, hunt the monster with your spear without using any spiritual energy, and then use the flames produced out of your spiritual energy to cook the food.'
'You might think of multitasking as eating the food prepared by someone while training with a spear, right? Like holding the spear with one hand, and chopsticks with another hand. But, that's not what I am talking about.'
'I am talking about finding an optimal point where you can merge two tasks together, to get something even better. If you are training, find a way where you can merge your daily tasks with your training.'
'If you are fighting, then train with your mind. It's not about being smart. It's about being obsessive, extremely obsessive with something.'
When he remembered those words, Tim's eyes fell on Tyler as he asked himself.
'So, is he the man you talked about, dad? I thought I had become obsessive with strength. But, what am I lacking compared to him? Why is he better than me? Is it really talent or is it something that I haven't understood yet?'
