Chapter 55: Descent

Wings- They carry flying creatures to the sky, they come in various sizes and shapes, with feathers, scales, hide, or just pure energy- Wings are a symbol of freedom, of speed, of power! Wings carry you to the heavens, the highest you could ever be, but there's a famous saying: The higher the climb, the harder the fall! Or, as a fan of Greek Mythology myself, i prefer to refer to this phrase as Icarus' Mad Freedom. He flew too close to the sun, enchanted by its beauty and fell to the cold arms of the sea as fire burned from his wax wings, burning his feathers and his skin as he laughed madly to himself.

After all, when the world is burning around you, there is this sick sense of satisfaction that follows you whenever you are falling after setting the world ablaze- The Child that knows no love from the village, will burn it to the ground and bathe in the warmth of the flames, chaos consumes and chaos destroys, chaos changes! And changes qre the fear of man.

Change is what Náttúrumaður brought to this world by simply existing there, magic took him as its beloved child, Nature called him son as he sang and played with him, Strength loved him and Madness was his lover, he was the embodiment of life and the sweet, tender, gentle taste of heaven itself. "[You!]" Hissed angrily the serpentine head of the Goddess of Chromatic Dragons, Tiamat, who felt the great pain of having one of her heads twisted and turned, decapitated by a simple and weak God of Life!? The broken and twisted neck still bled her sickeningly gooey red and black blood that fell onto the battlefield, and whoever was touched by this cursed blood would be cursed.

This curse would be the source of great magical power, but great mental instability- It would take a powerful mind to resist the curse, and worse, it was bloodline based...

"[Yes, it was me.]" Náttúrumaður responded back to her growling maniacal madness in a sarcastic and sassy tone as he flew across the battlefield towards her- The wrath of Nature followed him closely as the clouds above darkened, the ground below cracked and broke with power as from the heavens came down a large black bolt of lightning! Tiamat was hit by this lightning strike with a heavy impact, Mokzaxirrathan stood from the side before his body shimmered and he vamished, floating beside the fallen Tiamat with his black-red claw, trying to kill her then and there- That is, until black chains of smoke cracked from the ground and pulled his arm down, making him unable to strike and defeat Tiamat. Everyone knows whose chains were that- They were the chains of Tharizdun!

There was an silent moment in the battlefield as dread sank into the hearts of mortals, knowing who they were dealing with alongside Tiamat herself.

The Evil behind the Gate itself, Tharizdun.

They felt it in their bones as his darkness corrupted the land where Tiamat' blood spilled, where upon these strange purple crystals of energy grew- Strangely enough, or worryingly, the people who had blood spilled on their skin did not become crystal monsters or crystal humanoid with the corrupted heart- No, the blood of Tiamat simply settled down inside their bones and waited for something unknown. Menacing, right? Regardless of this, Mokzaxirrathan pulled his red glowing claw back and the chains of dark smoke shattered in the sky, like a mirror that was broken- Shards of this darkness spread everywhere, entering the eyes and hearts of people- Changing how they saw the world, and how they felt about it forever.

Sadly, this was not the end- No, it was much more, it was just the beginning.

Tiamat raised her eight heads and roared to the sky as her divinity spread over, fire, ice, fog, poison, lightning, force, and acid danced around her as it spread completely around her, killing or maiming thousands upon thousands of people with a single attack. "[You are your little ants shall suffer!]" She screamed, hoping this would be enough death to appease Tharizdun- And surprise surprise!

It wasn't!

No... He wanted more, no, she needed more! They wanted to kill the whole world! She was certain, he was furious, they were curious- Curious about this world, wanting to devour it to learn more about it. "[You are not welcome in Nature]" As he said those words, a blast of green emanated from his draconic body- It suddenly started to sweat grey, white, black, green, red, blue, pink, yellow, purple- All colors, even some of the light spectrum that humans could not see! "[You will die here, today.]" Mokzaxirrathan's body was enveloped in a large cocoon of psionic energy, deep dread bursted and colonized Tiamat's heart, even a deeper fear than what she had for Tharizdun himself. "[Hmm...?]" A voice Náttúrumaður did not recognize downed upon the world, and it was like...

Like...

A True God descended upon this world.

-Author Note-

Now, I'm sorry for this short chapter, but I'm feeling the wheight of burning out in this novel- So I'll try to write something else while i try to keep up the good work. I usually thought "I want to write" but slowly it becomes "I need to write", and that is not healthy for me.

So I'll write some Orc smut or something for ya'll in my [Random Novel Ideas] while i try to be back st my normal (anxiois, depressed, stressed) self.
