DROWN IN HELL

"With you, the red light will eventually turn green" ===== As she looked into his eyes, those deep dark irises, eyes that seemed to look into her very soul. That smirk that screamed 'danger'. She shuddered, feeling cold sweat drench her shirt "What's wrong?" his magnetic voice sounded with almost inhuman dexterity, he held her by the waist. "Stay-stay back, don't touch me!" her voice was shaking, almost breaking into a shout, but was actually a whimper. She slipped into his arms, heart pounding, eyes darting. Feeling complicated, a mixture of reluctance and pleasure. His chiseled face leaned into her hair, noise sniffing greedily. Her hair stood on end with nervousness, seeing the sharp fangs at the edges of his reddish pink lips. "Now you can be mine forever" 'No' she thought, but couldn't bring herself to speak. She gradually closed her eyes in despair. "I won't kill you, you're to beautiful for that" seeing her disposition, the man was amused. Vera opened her eyes in bewilderment and confusion. Mustering her courage and will, she managed yo squeeze out one word. "Why?" Her imagination ran wild, doubts began to form and dissipate at astonishing speeds. She hated when she wasn't aware of the situation. Soon her fear became anger, and anger gave way to rage. "So you kidnapped me and made me feel like a piece of shit for nothing?" The man smiled widely, and her fear returned. {CREDIT TO THE OWNER OF THE COVER From Pinterest}∆∆

Just hallucinating...

"Am still in daze to believe angie would do such a thing after all you have gone through. I can imagine how it feels to be in this position and I am sorry about it" he said, patting her head on his chest as she sobbed.

Hugo was her childhood friend for many years until that tragedy happened and she lost contact of him and his whereabout. He was more like a big brother to her, comforting her during those worst days.

It was after two years she found out that he left to another country to complete his study as an IT manager and then realized he got married after he spent not less than a month or two there. Unfortunately, vera couldn't honour the invitation because of her current situation, until now, today she meet him after a long time.

"But how did she manage to locate you?" he asked curiously.

She sniffed and replied "I have no idea hugo, she have her ways maybe" vera responded, wiping her tears with her palm.

"How are you feeling in this dire situation?" he asked in concern, staring at her with a sorry expression. She pulled off from his embrace, lowering her head down facing the concrete tiles.

"Is just as if my world is crumbling already, living in just two options" vera explained in a sober voice, blinking the tears that was about to fall from her eyes.

He shifted closer, placing his left arm on her shoulder, slightly pushing her in an reassuring manner.

"I understand how you feel my dear and I am sincerely sorry for what you are going through" He said honestly, trying to comfort her with his words. She bit her lower lip tightly to avoid breaking down as she sobbed really loud, clutching his trouser really tight.

"Why hugo, why me?... Can't I leave in happiness...can't I have my own bundle of joy, why must it be me? Why is faith like this? Why am I an exemption to happiness, why? Tell me, why is life so cruel?... Why?!" She whispered and sobbed, clutching her chest while shaking her head. The pain just seemed to increase so much that she felt like just sleeping and never wake up. She just wanted death to embrace her, swallow her whole and make her not exist. It was so frustrating that she needed to release the anger inside her before it gets out of her.

Immediately, she rushed out of the paulor, walking downstairs towards the basement. He knew she needed time to clear her head and to release what ever she have been holding before it eats her whole and he understood her predicament.

Not long after, he heard a scream.

"Argh!!"

In the middle of the night...

The smell of hospital disinfectant wafting and invading her nostril woke her up in the silent of the night. She slowly opened her eyes, squinting to sharpen then blurred image around her. How long have I been here? She shut her eyes, trying to remember what exactly happened, as the memory hits her hard as it occupied her thoughts.

She held a knife firmly on her hand about to stab herself until someone hit her hard on the ground, injuring her head. She fought to keep her consciousness, trying to get a better view of the person until darkness welcomed her.

Still on the verge of trying to rack her brain, she felt pain on her forehead and out of impulse, her hand traveled to her face, pressing the throbbing area on her left temple. She felt a scar and flinched in pain. Once her feet touched the cold white tiles as she tried to get up, she instant fell back to the bed. Her body engulfed in pain as if objecting her decision to stand up. Laying down pathetically, looking up the ceiling illuminated with white fluorescent light, she waited perhaps still in thought that someone she knew would have an idea who brought her here. She relaxed her back on the head board, tucking her body inside a thick blue and white bed sheet, waiting for the pain to wash away.

She looked at the TV played quietly in one corner, a distraction that might help get her mind off thinking, to avoid another pain when the door swung open, as hugo emerged holding a stainless tray with two cups of coffee in it. He walked leisurely with a faint smile and a worried face. He dropped the tray carefully on the side table and sat at the edge of her bed, holding her hand firmly.

"How are you feeling now?" he asked.

She smiled in response, nodding her head as if to say yes even if she knew it was a complete lie.

"You got me scared after I heard your scream down the basement. I know you are not in a better condition to answer any question right now till you get better but please, don't try to do that again" He complained worriedly, using his thump to brush the back of her hand.

With a furrowed brow, she asked "What happened hugo. Did you see the person?"

He looked at her in confusion "Who are you talking about?"

"The person who tried to...never mind, maybe I am just hallucinating" She said, looking sideways in contemplation.

He studied her expression, knowing something was definitely not right. He was about to ask another question but brushed it away, still on the thought she needed to recover first. The door creaked open slowly, as a nurse entered the room with a dressing box. She smiled and walked to the bed.

"How are you feeling now miss" she asked with her hoarse voice, looking at her with a worried face.

Vera smiled "A-am fine although just a little headache" she complained, touching her forehead hat was dressed with a bandage.

"Yes, it is normal because you obtained a mild head injury and hopefully, it didn't affect neither your skull nor brain." she explained briefly looking at both vera and hugo.

"These symptoms might last for a week such as headache as you complained and nausea. You might be discharged after a week or two, depending on how severe your situation might become" She explained further, receiving a sigh from vera.

"So I am here to dress your wound as it is already stained, so if you don't mind" she gestured towards hugo asking to be left alone.

"Alright! I will leave you to my sister.."he said looking at the doctor before his gaze landed on vera.

"I will be back okay, just be strong" He said, standing up front he bed before walking towards the door and left.

"Shall we?"
