Checkmate

[yuuji pov]

The monster's torso was divided into two parts. Its lower body was like the abdomen of a spider, with eight hairy limbs extended to support its body and walk. Its upper body was straight and slender, with a ferocious beast head.

There were slender human arms on both sides of its body, and at the end of the arms were huge symmetrical claws. Its body was five to six meters long, and it was about four and a half meters tall.

The upper body was covered in pale white translucent skin that looked like a thin membrane. Occasionally, one could see green veins protruding from under the skin.

Meanwhile, the lower body was covered in a black carapace. As it walked, white mucus would be left on his tail from time to time. Overall, it was frightening.

Eyes bearing vertical slits locked onto me once again and I could see the world split in two as he clawed at me.

"How long do you plan to run yuuji? Just accept your fate. I am incomparably stronger than you."

"I still see no reason to be absorbed by you though."

Yes, he became stronger than me. His movements had become a blur to my eyes. The power he was radiating, resembled a raging volcano.

Sweat dripped down my hair from the tension.

But...

'I cannot fall here.'

He would not just stop once he gains his desired immortality. One did not need some fancy observations to come to this conclusion.

Static started filling my range of vision once again and I gladly welcomed it. It was the only thing helping me keep up with him at this moment.

Within the static I could see a small light. Focusing on it I saw the future once again, although extremely blurred, it was decipherable.

'Left.'

Tilting my head to the right I dodged his claws and held onto them to use his own power against him, but stopped to at the last second and jumped to dodge an iron spike.

Four tails sprouted from my back to coil together into a helical shape and slam at him like a hammer.

The dust cloud parted away within a second away, as muzan jumped up towards me.

Vines came out from the ground wrapping around his legs from behind to stop his ascent and my fireball hit his face to blind him for a brief moment.

Reaching the ground I conjured a pillar of ice.

Blood gushed out from his abdomen as he was trapped midair with an icicle coming out from his back.

Before he could attempt to break it I leaped forward with my hand outstretched holding a giant axe made from ice.

A black sheen took form as haki bolstered its capabilities to insurmountable degrees.

The downward swing of my axe created an afterimage of a crescent moon.

The sound of the air being pushed aside was deafening!

Muzan while still trapped in position, raised his slender arms to meet the axe.

Clang!

The axe and flesh collided, but the sound was like two pieces of metal colliding.

With, nowhere to offset the force, his huge body flew seven to eight meters away before landing on the ground and rolling, leaving a burning trail.

Getting up, his spider-like body mended itself together pushing out the icicle.

"Enough games!" He shouted in an enraged voice charging towards me with an even higher speed.

Sensing the danger, static filled my vision again, but I had no time to even observe it.

While the precognition perk of haki was quite welcoming, I had just touched the waters, I would still need time to understand it, sadly I didn't have such luxury right now...

Controlling as much chakra as I could at that single time frame, I spun it as fast as I could to activate my 8 gates.

The ground caved in as I stopped his claws...

The sound of my bones cracking made me aware just how precarious the situation actually is.

'Hurry up you fuckers!'

Just as that thought came to mind, I could see a crow flying towards me. But I didn't need to hear the news, muzan's eyes told me all I had to know.

"...What are you planning?" He asked me in a low tone.

"Watch motherfucker." Saying so, I let go of his arms and braced myself for the aftereffect.

While it was true that short distance was easy for me, it was abnormally hard to do so over long distances.

It might seem easy at first glance but playing with space it the same as playing with dimensions.

Space has zero dimensions.

Length, breadth and width. These three lengths are used to measure a three dimensional entity. Two dimensional entities are composed on only length and breadth, hence the third dimension is basically invisible to them.

They cannot interact with the 3D world but the 3D entities can.

Why is this relevant for space transportation?

See, while we can interact with the second dimension, we cannot fully do it.

The three dimensional world in which we reside in, is made from an infinite amount of two dimensional lines spread in every direction.

To change my position in space I have to interact with a finite number of lines such that the lines spread at my chosen destination is also being affected the same way.

If these lines do not move in sync, a gap would be created revealing the zero dimensional true space, in other words, a void.

The same void I accidentally opened in the pirate world to end up here.

But then the question arises..

How did I interact with it?

Well, the answer would be haki, a mysterious power that allows everything to become tangible.

It would be impossible to accomplish without haki.

Whitebeard didn't shatter the air with solely his devil fruit power. He used haki to interact and tear some of the lines with intense vibrations.

This method however becomes increasingly hard with distance and a demon with much finer control over these lines.

Now with her gone, my clones started their work to teleport me and muzan out of here.

I could feel the space shifting in an impossible way, as it resisted my clone's attempts.

But it worked at the end..

I could see the entire world bending in weird angles while muzan tried to run away.

Light split apart to different colors and a sickening nausea took over me as I landed.

My vision was blurry but I could clearly feel the sand beneath my feet and the killing intent gushing out from an angry demon.

The smile I was holding back finally stretched across my face even though I feel Goosebumps.

"Checkmate."
