Blood Moon

[2 months, 4 days later]

[6:00 PM]

The clouds parted away, revealing the blood moon, illuminating the dark alleys harboring humans and demons.

Within the demon slayer corps HQ, a female demon prostrated herself, blood seeped from her forehead as she pressed further into the ground.

"I understand what you have said till now, but my point still stands. I cannot possibly entrust the lives of all the noble demon slayers on an untrustworthy demon without proof."

"Please." Tamayo pleaded as much as she could as she spoke with gritted teeth.

"I have managed to escape thanks to kibutsuji muzan being weakened by the anomaly. But he will not stay hidden any longer. Not anymore, when he finally found a demon who conquered the sun."

The demon slayers nearby flinched at that. While it was true that they became stronger after koko joined the corps. Deep down they knew it was not enough to sever the neck of the progenitor demon.

This led them to the only way to defeat muzan, which is to hold him down until dawn.

If what the female demon said is indeed true, muzan might actually be unkillable after he gets his hands on the anomaly.

Thinking of the anomaly, another thought surfaced on their head.

'Who is it?'

A new demon who conquered the sun yet keeps a low profile. The reports compiled about him suggested he was quite rational compared to other demons, almost human if you dismissed his impulsive nature.

The most important fact in the report was a single line indicating he has yet to devour humans.

"Can you tell us about this anomaly." The fire hashira spoke out, unable to hold out his curiosity.

"Even we demon do not know much about him. He simply appeared out of thin air with cuts and bruises. The moment he got up, he looked at the demons present in the infinity castle and decided to sleep. It didn't stay like that for long as muzan got angry and tried to kill him."

"How did he turn into a demon then?"

"He was strong even before he turned. In fact, most of his powers are from before he turned into a demon. He was equal to muzan, if not for his previous injuries, he could have probably defeated muzan by himself."

"So the-" The hashira stopped speaking as he sensed a distinct figure coming forward through the gates.

The bell chimed, as koko passed through large wooden gates, completely unbothered about her surroundings

It was considered to disrespectful to their leader Kento Ubuyashiki but no one seemed to mind. The demon slayer who pulled the entire organization to new heights all by herself had an atmosphere around her that demanded respect from everyone.

"Where is this anomaly you speak of?" said koko, with a smiley face carrying unbridled rage.

"The intel from the demons nearby suggest that he lives with a demon slayer near the slums of the red light district."

As the words came out of tamayo's lips, all the heads turned to the single hashira who had been silent all this time.

The sun hashira yoriichi looked at his fellow co-workers silently, not bothering to explain himself.

"Is this true yoriichi san!?" Their leader kento said in a tone harbouring all the shock he felt at this moment.

"Yes."

"Why did you not tell us!?"

"Yuuji said not to." Yoriichi replied with cold impassive eyes.

"....We'll decide what to do with you once we deal with this matter." Kento finally said in an exasperated tone and tuned his head to the female demon.

"So you're saying kibutsuji muzan will most likely attack tonight."

"YES."

".....I still do not trust your words but if what you are saying has even a little amount of credibility to it, then this is a most likely going to a turning point in history. So I will be sending most of the hashiras except a few to make sure muzan does not accomplish his goals."

....

"Your powers are beautiful yuuji san." Uta said with starts on her eyes as she marveled at the mesmerizing house built from the application of wood jutsu and demon arts.

"This should be far enough to keep you out of their reach." Yuuji said to her as he looked at the house he built 50meters underground.

"I've stored enough food to last you for a month. There's an emergency exit near the kitchen. I'd advice not going out unless you really need to. It's highly likely that muzan will attack tonight."

"Heuuuungggg thanks you yuuji saaaan." Uta said while holding tears and snot.

"Don't worry about it, just make sure to take care of your child."

"Yuuji Tsugikuni, that's his name. Yoriichi and I decided to name him after you!"

"...As long as I'm not his godfather."
