34 34: THE OAK TREE

Three and a half hours later, the three of us came out of Bear’s. The transport, delivery date, number of orders…. Everything was set.

“Now where do you intend to stay, Rose?”

I looked at Tristan.

“I used to stay with him-“

“Absolutely not you’re coming with me”

…. I was hoping she would say that. Ms. Wong is an adult and the closest thing I had to a parent. If she invited me, I could finally quit with the uncertain jumping places.

“Ok”

She looked at the boy,

“And you, don’t you have school? I’ll take care of the rest, you may leave”

“I do what I want lady, I’m not going anywhere”

“Rose, tell him to leave. There is nothing more you could do here. I’ll drop you at my house and you can resume school starting tomorrow”

I looked between the both of them.

“Actually, I was just going to see more shop owners… I made a list last night and sent some mails, there seems like a lot more people who could be interested, Tristan’s my ride”
