The Last Stand

Luke POV:

I got pulled into the dream world, and as I opened my eyes, I saw myself in a large room, with shelves of weaponries, armors, ammunitions, bombs, and on to the back there were weird machines with slots in them.

Strings of blood suddenly manifest beside me coiling and forming another human.

"Seems like thats how I spawned here, neat"

The new arrival looked around then at me.

"Hello, names Hank" he went and showed his hand for a handshake.

"Luke" I grabbed it and shaked his hands.

"Do you know what to do in here?"

"Just arrived here myself"

"Let's go and do some investigations then"

As we looked around, we saw glowing numbers in a blank wall a few meters from us.

"2/10, do you think that means the number of people needed to play the game hank?"

"I think so luke, I guess we have to wait till people start joining, this place intrigues me on what might be in store for us"

"Hmph, I'll go ahead and get myself suited up then, lot's of inventory here for me to choose from, from light to full blown heavy you know?"

"I guess, I would do so as well, would be nice if there was a gatling gun here, hahahaha"

We got ourselves suited up in a few minutes, and along that time 3 more people joined us, and inquired if we knew anything about what to do, and just told them we have to wait and just choose their gears while doing so.

After 15 long minutes, we finally had 10 people, the numbers on the wall reformed and showed 30 seconds. I guess it's to give time for the new arrivals to suit up.

The time went 0 and the lights sunk into the wall, it pulsed with lights and a stream of light started forming shapes unto the wall, a logo of a skull with its mouth wide opened formed and suddenly materialized from light into stone the same material as the wall, the lights then seeped out and formed a humanoid shape.

"Welcome to the Last Stand, this is the Fortress of DOOM, the final base of humanity in this rotten infected planet, once was a haven now a god forsaken damnation filled with monsters of the damn.

How it all happened, is when a meteor fell from the sky and shattered and impacted on our world, with it carried a virus that slowly infects the brain losing all sense but that of to hunt for other non infected, humanity fought for years but it was for nought, we had built a spaceship and sent some of the survivors to continue on the human race, while we are here left behind to gather as much intelligence as we can.

Don't worry though, through the years of battle, we had done research on the meteorite that fell, we call it the aether crystals and found highly radioactive energy that even outputted a nuclear reactor, we had built machines and had also installed unto that ship as it's core engine, as for the virus, it no longer inhibits the aether after finding a new host and so we harvested it, and in some good news, it also naturally forms on the infected monsters core as well.

There are machines all around you, it can be used to create more ammunition or to customize your weapons to your likings, as for the the damage your weapons or armors accumulate, your suit has has a built in energy materializer, it's only a prototype and could only do repair, all you have to do is feed the core with aether and you will always be good as new.

Of course we also didn't leave you here to die, right behind me is a skull, fill it with aether and it will activate the portal connected to the ship of humanity, but of course, you must also bring with you as much aether crystals as you can, the more you bring, the greater your rewards.
