Extra Story 2

He was in a busy crowded street, the constant chatter and bustle surrounded him from every corner. He didn't want to open his eyes, for he had been dragged through this torturing scenario countless times out of the regret and guilt he felt. All the people he knew told him it didn't matter anymore, and it was time to let go and move on. Heck, he should know this best out of all people. He told himself he would not open his eyes this time, and he would not let his affections take the better of him.

The noise eventually faded, until all he could hear was the beating of his heart. The coast was clear. He opened his eyes.

And yet there she was.

The crowd was still there, but had frozen completely still. It made it all the easier for him to spot his lover from afar. She was walking away just like the previous dreams, yet this time she wasn't sad or angry. She looked happy.

The pain struck as the memories remerge and cut deeper than ever before, making every cell in his body scream in agony desperately resisting the inevitable and unavoidable fear. Out of instinct, he shouted out his lover's name.

It was no use, she was gone, again. Leaving him in loneliness and despair. In a final attempt to maintain his sanity he searched for her. And as he did he realised he was holding a phone. He reached for contacts, but there was no one in his contacts.

It was time to let go. He had cared too much and was too stupid to realise it was for someone who didn't. They say time healed all yet his emotions only grew as time passed, part of him feared that he would never be capable of loving someone so deeply again. And with that his eyes gave way to his tears.

"I'm here"

For a second he couldn't make out the voice. It had been almost a decade since he last heard that soft and soothing voice. But as he came to his senses, he found himself smiling as he turned to face the owner of the voice.

"I will always be here." She said.

This is a side story that explores what dreams can mean for different people. It is not relevant to the main plot.
